  • This one is for the girlies who get overwhelmed by a blank canvas and don't know where to start in their room design. I'm one of the most indecisive people to ever live so I understand the overwhelm. If you want to do a room makeover but don't know where to start, this one is for you. I really hope it is helpful.

The algorithm did good by recommending this to me! I’m currently designing my new space at my boyfriend’s house that I’m moving into soon. You’re right, social media is watching what we’re doing 🫣😅. But a lot of your ideas are really helping me in planning them out. I have a vision in my head of how I want them to look aesthetically and what style I’m going for, but I’m fuzzy on some details and also the placement on some of my furniture . I need to pick out a rug & curtains to go with my new duvet cover and I’m having a tough time figuring it out. A mood board would probably really help me so I’m definitely gonna try that! Thanks for all your tips, you’ve earned a subscriber 💖
Edit: one more thing I just thought of - Have you seen how recently people are creating “digital closets” by taking flat-lay pics of their clothes, removing the background, and uploading them into a program where they can plan outfit mood boards? That idea but applied to designing your space by using pics of furniture/decor that you already have + creating a mood board with things you want to purchase seems like a great idea. I wonder if it exists? If not, I think I might invent it lol.

Thank you so much for your sweet comment and for subscribing 🫶🏼 And congrats on the move! I’m sure you’re excited!
I have a new video coming out I think this Saturday all about furniture layout and guidelines for furniture size and ratios etc.. I think it’ll be helpful for you if you plan on purchasing anything new. It covers nightstands, side tables, coffee tables, art placement, rug size, and hanging curtains. So if you’re a little hesitant to purchase stuff it’ll give you some guidance for sure.
I think when you’re fuzzy how you want things, the best thing to do it just start placing stuff and see what you like. Just experiment. It brings so much clarity. It’s hard to plan a room out start to finish all in your head. This gets tricky when you have items you need to purchase though. And I feel like a software like that has to exist! Especially with how fast AI is moving. I have Canva pro so if I do want an idea of how something is going to look I have to take a pic of the space and then pics of the furniture and use the background remover tool. It works *fine* but it’s very rudimentary and it only works to get a general idea of what you want. So honestly if you could invent something better you’d be rich and really solving my problems 😂
If you want any extra help you can totally email me too! Best of luck 🤍

Love your very realistic and practical take on design style. You hit the nail on the head that most of the pics on Instagram and Pinterest are from wealthy people's homes and are out of reach for most of us. But we can make the space we do have perfect for *us*.
