- This video is about my experience with i-Tip extensions as a black woman. Most black women are used to wearing sew-in weaves or lakefront wigs, but they sometimes don't give the versatility we desire. So far, I'm loving the versatility these tip extensions are giving me!

a tip : you can watch series on flixzone. Been using them for watching loads of movies these days.
This technique was popular in the early 90’s but something predominantly for straighter hair textures. I personally as a cosmetologist recommend that you have at least 10 inches of hair .It honestly blends better on straighter hair textures unless you use more textured weave.Also be careful using combs because you can snatch your hair straight out from the follicle by mistake.
I agree. it's not a protective style. And the hair beneath the bond area can dry out, split, rub up against the extension hair and get damaged from the friction. And then you have to constantly straighten it. I'm not even a fan of leavout and I always recommend closures to my clients.

This was also low key popular in the 60s and 70s maybe even earlier. My Dad always did my weaves braid-less and undetectable. Seeing as though he went to cosmology school in the 70s, the process has at least some time stamp🤣 They keep bringing things back like it's new🤔 But I guess that's life🤣

I wore them. I found them very damaging, you have to straighten out your root And the hair under the tip, of you don't, it looks puffy. I would rather a braid less sew in, less constant heat on your hair
I wore itips in an afro curly texture and since I didnt have have to straighten my hair it was not damaging

Omg I had them done before a trip to guam🤦🏽♀️ My hair was way to thick and I kept going into the ocean, I’m thankful they were able to get them out. My hair was so dready at the roots!

This is what I wanted so badly!!! For those reasons too but I can’t find any itip hair that matches my curly texture. In some parts it’s kinky in others it’s “wavy” and then it goes to a weird diagonal sorta kinky curl and 😭 I wanted these soo badly.

Taka Hendry-Hudson it would be best to go to hair school as this style can cause breakage I’d done incorrectly and without proper licensing, someone can sue for malpractice.

You could if you leave hair out in the middle. If you get this done you can tell your hairstylist that you want that hairstyle and she’ll purposely leave hair out in the middle to cover the iTIps.

I wasn’t sure if I wanted to commit to itips and just wanted to try them out as my hairs quite thick and wavy/curly so wasn’t sure if they’d blend, I got synthetic extentions and made my own itips and wore them for around a month but they took ALOT of styling, the curl pattern in the synthetic hair lasted around a week before they became frizzy so I had to straighten them with low heat to get the frizz out and sleep in heatless curls every night and the glue at the itips kept coming apart and therefore falling out from lack of tension. I decided that the itip method worked but the hair didn’t so took the plunge and ordered a mixture of curly and wavy human hair itips and I’m actually obsessed 🙈 the synthetic experiment was really worth it to me though as it cost me maybe £20- £30 for the hair, glue and itip installation kit and like a day with my mum watching how to videos and installing them

What’s the difference between itips & microlinks
microlinks are the tools used to attach the itip to your hair. there are difference shapes too: i tips, v tips, and u tips

I tips use an adhesive of some type...micro links are a metal cylinder lined with silicone or some type of cushion to protect the hair
Ikea Dumarria you’re thinking about fusion or tape. I-tip hair does not use glue. The microlinks is what attaches to the hair with the I-tip.
