    For new to links...sometimes the link fails on the first go...so don't get tempted to reclamp...this will make removal nearly impossible.

    Hi Simone, I tried itips too mostly based on your videos. You do a great job. Can you clarify when you say this is a protective style? I always thought protective styles are styles that your ends are totally put up. You are not touching or manipulating your ends. How are itips a protective style when all of your hair is out. 0% of your hair is protected, so I’m confused.

    I recently had microlinks w/weft installed. I had it installed at a Dominican hair salon near Philly and it turned out amazing. Reasonable price at $95 for 4 wefts. I had more of my top left out. Total time to install and style 1.5 hrs. I actually asked for a partial sew-in and the stylist told me she does the microlinks. Of course I asked her general questions before the install. Do it damage the hair?.How long can I keep it in and can I wash it? How much does it cost to take out? She replied,there's no damage when installed properly. It can last a month or more depending on how you maintenance the hair. It can be wash n re-tighten and of course the takedown is free if they are the ones installing it. The style is very versatile and looks very natural.

    Is there a way after you wash the micro links to straighten the roots ? Or does the root stay natural until they are tightened or the style is redone al together

    • @ejay7618
      @ejay7618 3 года назад

      Right!!! my root is the curliest and is what’s needed to be straighten the most while straightening my hair at least . I think that’s why I haven’t done it myself because I’m nervous about wasting so much money on install and hair that I’m not going to like the reality of the first two washes after math than struggling to straighten the root part of my head

      If you have the time and patience you can squeezed I tip bead a little bit and pull your hair and put the tip up but that's going to take so long but if your hair has grown out that much then you should just get it maintenance I do my own installation and when they grow out too far I just pay the money for the maintenance

    Anyone know someone who does micro links on textured hair like this in NYC? All the places I looked into that offer this service aren’t familiar with doing so on hair textures that aren’t straight.

    Can your hair grow without using heat

    If you can't find links in your texture...you can boil it into the texture you want.

      You can turn a regular weft into an itip? Can you explain how?

    • @peepla7
      @peepla7 3 года назад +7

      @@candytoocool it's easy. First get some school glue sticks...the kind that turns purple when dry. Cut the hair right at the track....fluff off the short hairs that's part of the knot...... squeeze a pinch of hair and use glue stick to go over the end and roll between fingers to make links. Now gather a pinch of you hair...slide ring thru...use the loop tool to slide the link you made thru...pull slightly to adjust so that the link is in correct position....not hanging over and not too short in the ring...once in place...clamp it. The purple glue stick is water soluble and rinses away completely on the first wash or when water is added. Also when it's time to remove the hair...hold it near top...slide the hair out after reversing the link.... making sure the hair is facing one direction so you can reuse the hair later. I know folks that use regular glue but that's messy and if you mess that up...it's a waste of the hair...which is why I use washable glue.

      @@candytoocool you're welcome. I figured it out when I was doing Brazilian knots....I'm a curly girl and at the time only straight hair was available. Then game changer...I discovered microlinks which last much long....and does shed or fail the way knots can.

      Do you know how many pieces comes in a pack? And how many packs are typically needed?
