Just finished Carrie Fischer's book before this. They both tell the stories wonderfully in my opinion. Both.of them funny too.

Wonder why she didn’t lend her voice to the foreword of her mother’s memoir…

This woman was a workhorse. I cannot believe how she kept on working “to keep her family afloat” well into her late seventies

This is a delight. I'm not sure that one could ever get past the crafted and beguiling persona that stars, especially true, MGM stars knew how to create to negotiate public life; you can hear it here, and clearly see it in the brilliant "Bright Lights" documentary, but Debbie sure knew how to make one feel like a "chum" and the world brighter. But boy, did she love her kids.

*Debbie's son Todd and his wife Cat have a fun RUclips Channel where share stories - if you are a fan of Debbie Reynolds or Carrie Fisher you will enjoy it. I listened last night and got about half way - GREAT book! Classy lady with a fantastic story to tell. I'm looking forward to listening to the rest of this tonight.

Debbie had the last, if emotional, laugh with her collection; no one wanted to know, the she held her auction, and those numbers sure made business pay attention!

Before I donated my personal library to my local senior center, I kept 3 books together: the as-told-to autobiographies of Debbie Reynolds on one side, Elizabeth Taylor on the other end, and Eddie Fisher in the middle. Regarding Debbie, when someone like Eddie Fisher calls somebody crude, well then...

This book should have been called "The paper trail" So much legal activity with business and divorce, seemed to become a big part of her life. All in all though I think she had a hoot of a life and gave us some great entertainment

    • @ethyltreatman1275

She wasn’t drunk - she was older -. trying to read a huge time without falling asleep!! It’s not easy to read aloud. I once volunteered to read books for a radio station that was sponsored for visually impaired folks. It was sooo tiring; I had to force myself awake to keep reading. I imagine it was very challenging for Debbie, too!
