    The D61pxi never seizes to amaze me in what it can push and the finish I can achieve with it.
    It’s only downfall is that it seems to have more power than the weight of the machine can proactively put down to the ground.
    considering the increase in weight, power along with the longer track frame and then add the reports of a 50% increase in trimming accuracy. I’d say it’s shaping up to be one hell of a tool.
    Hopefully I’ll be operating one early 2021 as the company I work for has ordered two 🤞

      Is that because the wider tracks of the 'P' model have too much flotation on harder terrain?

    • @mishmacs7193
      @mishmacs7193 Год назад

      @@chippyjohn1 in some circumstances yes, but for the most part it's down to the 61 just being too light, since making the above comment I've been fortunate enough to operate the 71, and the weight issue has been fully addressed- the 71 is a perfect all round machine capable of spreading materials, whilst also being able to achieve finishes to low tolerances. In short- the 71 is a versatile beast of a tractor 💪

      @@mishmacs7193 I appreciate the reply. What year 61 did you operate? I notice the 61-24 is about a 1000kg heavier than the first version, add on the folding blade and rippers and that's about 3.5 ton all up, making it about 22 ton, where as the 71 is about 25 ton all up. The original 61 is about 18 bare, 4 ton difference would be enough?

    • @mishmacs7193
      @mishmacs7193 Год назад +1

      @@chippyjohn1 the last 61 I operated was around a 2017 61-24 but it was just a standard point model- no folding blade or ripper, I've no doubt that the 3ton extra will make up for the lack of weight that I encountered from the 61

    Yeah.... I've heard the sales pitch of a "Plus" or as cat called it "system one" undercarriage. Unfortunately my company was one of the many victims in the failed cat system one undercarriage. It cost significantly more, didn't last any longer and when it was time to replace the undercarriage we switched all of our d6ks back to the regular salt. I'll let someone else be the guinny pig on this one. Lol

      Komatsu has been running PLUS since 2008 with VERY few problems I’ve literally sold 100s with the plus in that time frame. One of my customers has 65s with 8k hours on original U/C in a pipeline application

    • @alexanderconnell800
      @alexanderconnell800 3 года назад

      The PLUS system is excellent seen d155-6 with 7k hours with all the undercarriage is acceptable condition, very well worth the money and the extra engineering and hardening of bushes pins and seal.s

      CAT systems were Komatsu’s guinea pig. I’ve seen 8-9k hr Plus systems running. It’s all relative Pay half for salt twice, Pay double for plus once. They’re always be outliers. Everything is dependent on condition of the working environment, but it’s a world apart from the CAT version of this approach.

    Visibility is always key in a dozer. As such, why don’t they put the cab in front? Don’t tell me a good engineer can’t figure that out.

      The view is very good out of them, no need to put it all the way at the front and in the Zone that could risk damage to the rops
