    About 2 years ago, I went to one of Matt’s seminars at ECU. It was $250 and I drove roughly 7 hours due to where I was in school at the time. Matt, in 30 seconds with 3 tips, adjusted my squat and I hit 435, it felt like a 225 warmup for me. At the time my max was a grinding, RPE 12 465.
    My point is this. Matt knows how to make you stronger and can do it in 60 seconds or less. He has earned the right to have a patreon channel and charge what he charges. If you listen to him and implement his advice, you will get stronger.
    Matt, thank you!

      @@ResistanceQuest I'm familiar with that idea, and implement it. Just never encountered much of an explanation as to why (the relationship between doing it and the glutes/quads). It's not that the tip was revolutionary, just delivered in a way beneficial to me.

    I have seen criticism of the anterior pelvic tilt and high chest on the basis that it lengthens the abs and prevents hard bracing. Some say this technique is really intended for geared lifting.The alternative position is ribs down and neutral pelvis. Has Matt ever addressed this question?

    • @williamhendrix3253
      @williamhendrix3253 4 года назад +2

      I don’t think he’s advocating an extreme anterior pelvic tilt, rather bracing the abs with ribs down but a slight arch. this way you can use both the abs and the lower back to stabilize

  • @guyfrowny
    @guyfrowny Год назад +1

    I want to say thank you for this wealth of knowledge you share about the squat, in early spring this year I found out through an MRI that I had a grade 1 partially torn patellar tendon and I was seriously concerned and thought I may have to have surgery and or stop squatting all together. Using your recommended techniques I have been able to continue squatting without have surgery. I still need a lot of practice to perfect it but it is already removing most of the irritation in the tendon.

    • @guyfrowny

      @@WenningStrength sadly it is hard for people to conceptualize something going wrong until they are already injured. Sure, you might be able to squat high volume with a lot of knee travel and have no issues but then again you could end up tearing a patellar tendon like me.

    I like the tips. Harvey might have some mobility issues though and/or too much focus on sticking his butt back. His back angle keeps getting flatter as he descends into bottom position which is looking pretty awkward. Doesn't look like strong position.
