Nice Review, but your pronounciation of German / European names is beyond HORRIBLE.
I do believe the song is about a kid telling his mother that the day is nice, that she should get up (steh auf means get up) and go outside, realizing towards the end that she has overdosed.

Literally seen yes, but meaningwise it’s more like get up, not stand up. The song is written from the perspective of a child that want‘s her mother to get up from her bed and go to the circus with her, only to realize that the mother overdosed and died.
The song is about a child who sees his dead drug addicted mother lying in bed. The child asks the mother to stand up again. It is a very sad song.

Steh Auf is Stand On, but usually it's more like Be Really Into or just Dig.
Christopher Rooney it actually means „get up“ in German, not stand on.

Native speaker here - but yeah sure, your university knowledge must be right. Context is a very important thing in German (and every other language too). „Auf etwas / jemanden stehen“ is rarely used outside of sexual or vulgar language and doesn’t have to do anything with the lyrics of this song. It is about a child that wants her mother to get out of bed to visit a circus (but the mother doesn’t because she has overdosed and died).
Also „Steh auf“ in your Interpretational meaning would never be used in an imperative form. Aaaand you would need an object to it.
