See you in the next video, goodbye for now!
💡 What makes you want to buy either the a7C II or a7CR? Let me know in the comments and thank you for watching! 🙏🏽
I'm getting the A7c II mainly because of the compact body which will be better for me to bring on our family travels as compared to my A7IV.
@NikoBols, that's great to know, and thank you for sharing. I'm with you on that and having a compact camera is always great. I remember bringing my G9 and GH5 cameras for family trips. And yes, they're small but a little taller than my FX30, so I always bring the FX30 instead the moment I have it and I can't get enough of the amazing AF, so it's really an all-in-one package for me. Also, the lighter gear I carry, the better. I appreciate your comment and thank you for watching the video! 🙏🏽
Are you selling your A7IV. I also have the A7IV and would prefer the smaller size too.
Got a6700 over a month ago and felt wronged when I heard about A7Cii release. Going through spec and many reviews now I feel much better for choosing A6700. The VDO capability is better while still photo isn't that far off from FF with good lens.
@rsat9526, 💯%! For video, really the a6700 makes more sense since it has 4K 120fps in the first place and all the other great features of the FX30, the same specs but the form factor and the built-in fan. It's kinda like the baby FX30. This will be an amazing camera for someone who's just starting out doing videography, and a great second camera if you already have an FX30 since it's also APS-C. You can also share lenses because of that, and the lenses you'll get will be lighter and more compact.
You're correct that the quality is not far from when you're using full-frame cameras, and really it's hard to tell the difference, not unless someone is pixel peeping, even then you can't tell. The only difference is that it's decent in low light, but you still get great footage out of the camera.
It's really a great starter camera to begin with, and finally, you can't beat the price for what you get when it comes to video specs. It's a no-brainer choice! Thanks for sharing your thoughts and I appreciate you stopping by the channel. 🙏🏽
Don't feel wronged. If you had bought A7Cii, you would feel wronged as well. It's just the way it is, every few weeks months, new products with slight improvements will be released, you will always be behind. Just be content with what you have in your hands and focus on using it. A6700 is a very good camera and they are not in the same price category.
I haven't bought a camera for 3 years, because sony hasn't released 4k60p in a high resolution full frame camera yet. But then, I have also missed a lot of opportunities I could have taken photos of due to waiting and perhaps 4k30p could have done just as well, or 4k60p with 1.2x crop will still do. It's the expectations ruining the actual fun. Be content with what you have.
@@ChargedPulsar very well said.
I’ve been set on buying the FX30 tbh, it’s just the most logical step up from my a6400 so I can get more into video production
@Freewxll614, I'm with you on this and you're absolutely correct! The two main reasons why I switched from using Lumix cameras: the amazing autofocus and the great price were just two of the deciding factors why I went with the FX30. Also, the fact that I can use S-Log3, and it has a built-in fan, as well as preview LUTs, they're huge for me. I totally agree with you that the FX30 just makes sense if you want to get into video production. Thank you for sharing your input and for watching the video, it's much appreciated! 🙏🏽
I have bought, and love, the Sony A6000 series cameras. Over the years I have purchased the A6000, 6400, 6500, and 4 years ago, the A6600. The A6600 was stolen, unfortunately, during one of my travels, about 7 months ago. Having flexibility to shoot photos and do videos along with an incredibly small size and low weight, makes the A6700 a remarkable camera body. I recommend the Sony 70-350mm and Sony 18-350mm lenses, along with, for night time/interiors, the Sigma 30mm fixed lens (1.4f).
@pf4773, so sorry to hear that your a6600 was stolen. That's really unfortunate. Yes, I totally agree with you about the a6700 being a versatile camera, especially when you're a hybrid shooter, plus that Real-Time Tracking AF for both stills and video, you really get an outstanding camera. I really think it's an amazing value for the price. I appreciate your lens recommendations, and f/1.4 will be great in low light for sure. 👌🏾Thank you for sharing your thoughts and for watching the video! 🙏🏽
I'm thinking about buying a new camera I'm thinking about getting the sony a74 is it still worth getting it right now it's $200 off US right now or should I get the new cameras that came out this year
@alexpelayo3502, great question, and thanks for asking! It will actually depend on how you intend to use the camera. Are you using the camera more for photos, or both for photo and video? Or just for video? The a7IV and a7C II are hybrid cameras so my guess is you do both? The a7C II was modeled from the a7IV and has most of its features, with the exception of dual card slots I believe. As for the a7C II, there's an additional 'AI' processing unit (to assist with AF recognition), auto framing, and other features, plus the ability to preview LUTs and embed LUTs which the a7IV doesn't have. The form factor is different as well since the a7C II is more compact. I'd say if you're thinking of getting either of the two and don't consider any other cameras, I'd lean more towards the a7C II since it has more advanced features like the AI processing unit and other great features mentioned above, plus it's a compact camera and it's $100 cheaper too. I appreciate your question and thank you for watching! 🙏🏽
i would like a7cii over a7iv because of the lut feature and the maintaining of af in digital crop. also, i dont use evf's, and the fact that it's flat on top makes it easy to attach a phone to use monitorplus app with it (if it works) to get waveforms..
i currently own none of them and im an amateur.
i do, however, think that it will be harder to sell a7cii on used market, since amateurs dont generally have $2200 for a camera, and professionals will go for a7iv instead (mostly).
@skepsys, thank you for your comment and I appreciate you sharing your input. Yes, being able to see LUTs on the LCD is huge, especially in my case. I wasn't a fan of S-Log3 before since what you see on the LCD is flat and unappealing, then this feature was added and I'm so glad Sony did it since it was a game-changer for me. I love filming in S-Log3 now and there's no turning back. Yes attaching a phone as a monitor is great! Why not use what you have right?
We're the same and I use mine as a monitor as well. As for the EVF, I don't use one, and it doesn't bother me at all if a camera has it or not.
Yes I agree with you 💯% and in my opinion it's expensive for the features that the a7C II doesn't have.
Have a blast with your a7C II if you ever get your hands on one. Again, thank you for your comment and for watching the video! 🙏🏽 All the best!
A7c doesn’t have mechanical shutter.
@@setiop6788, were you referring to the a7C II and not the a7C? If so, then you are correct since it's using an electronic first shutter curtain rather than a full mechanical one. I appreciate you taking the time to comment, and thank you for watching the video as well! 🙏🏽
a7c II will save me a lot of money, if i can leave it as an AI cameraman that follows a subject, reframing every second. During the year, it will pay itself fast. I will use this function for talks at schools and companies if it works fine, while i move on a second camera. Good to see the video and not changing my mind. I don't need 4k 120p for my work. Price is perfect for a camera i will use for 5 to 7 years if works as expected.
@emmanuelavalosmedina9604, that's a great insight, and thank you for sharing! That's an amazing feature to have if using AI can help with framing the shots. The a7c II is indeed a great camera that you can use for years to come. I appreciate you watching the video and for your comment! 🙏🏽
Basically if you only shoot video, you should not get a7cII😂😂
@KaiLiuvisual, yes I agree 💯%!👌🏾 And that’s me too! 😂 Haha… Thanks for your comment and for watching the video! 🙏🏾
looks to me that you bought the zv-e1 and trying to justify your purchase, very few people would be claiming that 120p is a must or use it frequently, I had the zv-e1 and returned for the poor ergonomics and was a toaster, this C series looks good, but, has some limitations, major being a poor EVF
@erg1450, I don’t have a ZV-E1. I have the FX30 and ZV-1 but, I suggested the ZV-E1 because it was also a full-frame camera, same with a7C II that’s more catered to users who do a lot of video stuff like myself. I personally use 4K 120fps, and love using that feature for personal projects. For wedding videos, I really think that the sweet spot for slow motion is 60fps and the a7C II will be a good choice for that but, I will never recommend that to be the main camera or the only camera since, it might overheat because of the lack of a built-in fan, and I know that it will add bulk to the body, but let’s look at the FX30, it has a built-in fan but it still looks compact to me and I love the handling of it. Some users will like the form factor, some won’t, just like what you experienced with the ZV-E1. Yes I’m with you that the new C series cameras are great and I even mentioned it in the video, but for my use, they won’t be my choice since I only do video and 4K 120fps is a big part of what I do. I appreciate your input and thanks for watching! 🙏🏾
@@BernieHipos all valid points, I am coming from a different angle and user case, 60% phot/40% video, not a professional but do a lot of events for family a nd friends. Each person's use case can be different, thus, hard to make a blank statement and recommendations for other people, perhaps, a more appropriate title wold've been "Why I would not buy the AcII/R", I currently use the A7IV, and the CR would potentially a good additions, FX3 is a niche video camera, and I understand now where you are coning from
@@erg1450, thank you and you made a great point as well. You're right about every user being different and this video is by no means to mislead those who are looking for a camera to buy, whether for photo and video or for just video alone, and whether it's an a7C II or a7CR or not, just stating my opinion and experiences using the cameras I can compare them with, and with the facts I've learned regarding these newly announced cameras, but I hear and understand where you're coming from as well. This is a great discussion and thanks for letting me know your thoughts. 👌🏾
