    - 1 sheet of ready-rolled puff pastry cut into 4.5 inch x 5 inch
    - 1 can (400g) baked beans in tomato sauce
    - 3 pork sausages
    - 1 cup grated cheddar cheese
    - 1 egg (beaten, for egg wash)
    - Salt and pepper to taste optional
    - Optional: fresh herbs (e.g., parsley) for garnish
    Oven 180c - 350f 20 mins

      I’ve been cooking sausages that way for years. Early in our marriage my wife first saw me doing it that way and thought I was crazy, until she tasted one. Rik teaches the basics a lot of people don’t know- keep watching and make your wife even happier. 😁

    I have made sausage, bean and cheese casserole with mashed potatoes on the side, but never thought of making it into a pastie. Great idea for an on-the-go meal or to pack in your take-along lunch to work. Your co-workers will be food jealous watching you crunch through that! Yum!

      I make a casserole with baked beans and mashed potatoes. The bottom third is beans mixed with mashed potatoes. The upper layer is mashed potatoes with cheese on top. The surface of the casserole is golden brown. A casserole is less work than a pastie although both are tasty.

      @@janwong9437 Not at all. Also use it to line trays when grilling or baking vegies in the oven ... even fresh homemade chips & they brown on both sides. I wish that I had've used it MUCH SOONER to avoid unnecessary washing up.

    Hi Rik, Can i take this opportunity to thank you for your reply on the custard slice recipe.You took my comment as i would have ment it, Can i just say Mr Kipplin has got a lot to worry about, doorstep custard whatever next.
    I would also like to say having been diagnosed with cancer in 2022, finishing work in late 2023.
    i thought i would never be a cook, coming from robot development technology,
    i found your channel which contained a lot of Chinese mixed with English cuisine.
    So i bought a Hysapientia oven so i could follow your recipes and found a new passion.
    But as an inventor i have that experimental mindset and i need to fiddle.
    I do find your enthusiasm to eat what you cook with lets get it in there i do find it funny, because it is what i do, then suffer with intergestion, on your sausage and beans pasty what can i say masterpiece anyone can do.

    Try a Beano pie. Mince, baked beans, onions and tinned potatoes in a pie. Sold hundreds.

      @@BackyardChef just salt and pepper. 20% mince. I first had them in Brighton and I made them in Plymouth in a chip shop. Oh and short crust. If you use chopped tinned pots they stay firm through cooking.

    Have you tried infusing some flavour into the sausage water? Something herby, a bit of veg or chicken stock maybe or even mustard powder? Would the sausages absorb enough of the flavour to make it worthwhile, I wonder? Might have do some experimentin'.

    Not a classic combo to Americans. Love baked beans, but can't fathom it in a sandwich. On the side, yum. I can't even get the Heinz tomato sauce beans Brits like. The husband likes his with lots of onions bacon and brown sugar!

    You did good as usual Rik,but this one not for me,I don’t eat sausage,like the taste of them,but not good for my salt intake.I don’t like baked bean,neither British,or American,though I like beans,so it must be the combination of tomato,and sweetness that I don’t like.I do like cheese,and puff,so not all bad.😂😂
