  • Review of the Hermès MC² Euclide Card Holder - 4 card slots and two pockets gives this compact card holder lots of carrying capacity! The Epsom calfskin leather has held up very well despite being in the rain as well as in the same pocket as my keys.

    How is yours holding up? What are your thoughts on the long-term daily use wear/tear of the card holders - Evercolor and Epsom leathers in light colors? I am considering getting the mc² euclide card holder in Evercolor - gold color, but not sure if a light color SLG is a good idea for daily use.

    • @luxusvideos6765
      @luxusvideos6765  Год назад +1

      Holding up great, even while occasionally getting light rain on it! There are no marks or stains at all. Some slight creases where it bends but nothing major. Considering this is over two years old, it is expected!

    • @Adamas11
      @Adamas11 Год назад +1

      Good to know! Epsom is one of the more durable leathers. I have a citizen twill card holder in a medium to dark blue color in Evercolor. The Evercolor leather is supple, yet somewhat durable and ages very well. My card holder still looks great after three years of daily use (carry in front pocket) I was just wondering how gold would be in same leather.
      Per Hermes, these are the characteristics on Evercolor:
      Appearance: Satiny; small, regular grain obtained by printing
      Feel: Grain more visible than that of Evergrain calfskin
      Hand: Supple and soft
      Change over time: Softens and becomes shinier

    • @luxusvideos6765
      @luxusvideos6765  2 года назад +1

      Yes I am! It is holding up great. The only noticeable wear and tear is a bit of a crease inside the card holder where it bends/folds over.

      @@luxusvideos6765 that’s nice, thanks. What kind of leather is this? I’m a little bit in doubt about Epsom leather or Evercolor calfskin leather.

    • @luxusvideos6765
      @luxusvideos6765  2 года назад +1

      @@thedufloth It's epsom. Epsom will be more durable than the evercolor. Evercolor will have more vibrant and bright colors (hence the name) but will scratch somewhat easier than epsom.

    Hi there! Thanks for the review and you helped me to finally decide to get one of these. I have a question; was the card holder more rigid when you first bought it? When you opened it and laid it flat did it stay flat or slightly open but became more flexible over time? Thanks tons!

    • @luxusvideos6765
      @luxusvideos6765  4 года назад

      Glad I could help! Yes, it was a bit more rigid (but not a huge difference.) It has become a bit more flexible over time with use, and the corners are slightly bent (due to the holder sitting in my pocket!)

    Nice card holder. I recently purchased the Citizen Twill card holder color - Bleu De Malte/Rouge Casaque/Azur in Evercolor calfskin.
    Does half folded cash fit in one of the inside pockets? And be able to fold card holder without the cash getting bent up?

    • @luxusvideos6765
      @luxusvideos6765  4 года назад +3

      Thanks Adamas! I like Citizen Twill as well, but I was looking for something more compact. IMO, the Citizen Twill is more like a wallet than a cardholder due to its larger size. The color combo you mentioned sounds amazing!
      Half-folded cash can fit into one of the back pockets. I personally don't carry cash, but a few bills would easily fit in. However, if you put too many bills in I would work about it bulking up the cardholder. This is really meant for cards and maybe 4-5 bills - I'd be wary about putting more than that in.
      The cardholder definitely CANNOT be folded. It's meant to live as is and is pretty compact I think it you were looking at carrying a lot of cards and cash you'd be better off with a wallet instead of a cardholder. Have you looked at the Poker wallet? It has a bill clip.
      There is also a MC² Copernic jungle wallet that may work if you like the style of the cardholder. However, it does not have a bill clip. Could fold the cash in one of the pockets or "stretch" it across both pockets. If you want to carry cards and cash that may be a better fit!

    • @Adamas11
      @Adamas11 4 года назад +2

      Thank for the detailed response. This is Citizen Twill card card holder that I purchased:
      www.hermes.com/us/en/product/citizen-twill-card-holder-H078718CAAA/
      It’s a simple card holder with 2 slots on each side and center pocket. I carry 4 cards (debit, credit, DL and work ID) and a little bit of cash (half folded bills). The half folded bills fits in the center pocket and does not stick out. Nice, compact, slim, front pocket carry. I haven’t used a wallet in years.
      I prefer blue colors, so I choose Bleu De Malte/Rouge Casaque/Azur in Evercolor calfskin. They have Navy, but it is Swift calfskin. Evercolor similar has similar characteristics as Swift. Evercolor has a little more graining, which I prefer. Also, Swift is softer and lighter than Evercolor thus not as durable. Evercolor should be perfect for me!
      Next time I’m at the Hermes Boutique, I’ll have to out the MC² Euclide 4CC card holder. My local Hermes Boutique is closed until further notice because of the coronavirus, so no rush obviously.

      @@Adamas11 We were looking at a Swift and Evercolor for my wife's recent bag purchase (we went with the Swift Constance Mini over the Evercolor Rivage). Both amazing types of leather, and was really impressed with how vibrant the Evercolor was! Agree on the durability as well.

      I actually ordered both card holders and received them today:
      -Noir/Bleu Nuit/Bleu Zanzibar in Swift calfskin
      -Bleu de Malte/Rouge Casaque/Azur in Evercolor calfskin
      The Swift calfskin card holder is getting returned as soon as the US distribution center re-opens. The Swift calfskin feels almost to delicate, light and marshmallowy. The Evercolor calfskin is heavier and has more grain. Feels more substantial overall. And the Bleu de Malte is a nice medium to dark blue color.

      I think it will be hard for you to find a similar wallet without a brand name for 10 dollars. First we have the material cost for this wallet. Epsom leather (Haas Derby) The leather in the middle which I believe is Swift from RMG Pomari, thread Fil Au Chinois lin cable and edge paint from Stahl (The cost for edge paint and thread is not that much though) I have made a couple of card holder very similar to this design (Completely handmade) and it take me around 5-6 hours. I guess an experienced leathercrafter could make it in half that time. But sure a low quality leather with synthethic fabric inside pockets and one layer of edge paint (that will peel off) you can probably buy from Aliexpress for 10usd.
