@@anderscristiaan6022 first of all I didn’t say he needed to hit the portal. I said if we lose one I’d rather keep Cobb and he did look slow just he did half of the year last year. Hunter is also drawing bad attention to the program with making pornos. You mark my words he will not be a first rounder and then I’ll be back at this comment telling you I told you so.

@@anderscristiaan6022 well Freeze let it slip that we needed backs who could hit the holes hard during A day and then corrected himself. Hunter was the one in when he said it and there was a huge hole but he didn’t hit the hole hard. I personally think Hunter thinks he will be back number 1 no matter what.
@@anderscristiaan6022 which the defense was taking the running backs on the reads because they knew the quarterback wasn’t a threat to run so I might be overthinking it a bit.

It wouldn't surprise me if there were thoughts that Sean Jackson could be considering the portal. Externally, at least, I can't discern a path to any snaps or any playing time whatsoever. They just don't play him. I think he's the guy in the Auburn RB room with good reason to take a shot in the portal. He'd likely get snaps at almost anywhere but Auburn.
Nobody is worried about a walk on.
Sean Jackson is the best back in auburn he just doesn't get any snaps id take Jackson over hunter any day of the week

It might just be me but I am not seeing what everyone sees in the RB room, or at least with Hunter. His vision is sub par, he isn't very explosive. I think he is pretty good after contact at times. One of the more overrated backs in recent years imo.
Did you not see him the 2nd half of the season? He ripped of a slew of explosive runs. The Ole Miss, Vandy, and Bama game especially

Why are looking at running back in the portal
Battie leaving most likely and you want 4 RB on roster and you don’t want your 4 guy being Sean Jackson you half to look at that Alston and Hunter can both leave for the NFL or just Hunter you get a guy now you get Alston back you take one HS guy you lose Hunter and Alston you need a transfer and two HS guys

This is from an article from Aggies Wire one of the places I referenced for my opinion as well as a respected analyst who mentioned his versatility as well. Notice they say he is 6'2 and versatile. Here is another reference to his versatility from Trojans Wire and Yahoo Sports: "At 6-foot-2 and 320 pounds, Raikes split his snaps almost 50-50 between nose tackle and 3-tech defensive tackle. He gives USC the size and heft in the middle of the defensive line which was so obviously lacking this past season." I would certainly consider somebody playing two positions and splitting his snaps versatile. And I specifically mentioned the 3-technique position in the podcast.
