Something I don’t understand is that if you have to go against someone who doesn’t relax and is Always prepared and playing good defense, how do you prepare. Ik you said at time like 3:30 that you know where you are going and the defender doesn’t so you can use that to be a step ahead but if you aren’t as athletic or explosive, which is pretty much the point I think, shouldn’t the defender be able to catch up.
Luka is strong and knows how to use his strength like Barkley to score in the paint. He has a lightening quick cross-over for a guy his size. He's special. He might be the most hybrid of hybrid players now. It doesn't hurt that he can hit outside shots from anywhere with confidence. He'll be a top 10 or top 5 player of all time if he stays healthy.
I think the term your looking for is cadence. Bruce Lee talked about cadence of movement in martial arts a lot and I've never seen anyone in basketball utilize this quality so masterfully

Luka has the same reading as cp3, luka is taller, bigger and stronger thats why he excels so much, You can say he is one of the top 3 of the best point guard in the league right now
Short breakdown: He is insanely good at everything except running and jumping, and even at that he is above average if you compare him with players 6'7 or more. Ballhandling, passing, shooting pull up threes, stepbacks, floaters from 3p line, the Dirk fade, floaters, layups with either hands, you name it he does it better. Hence he is bigger and better than you so he bullies you. Not rocket science.
Luka is the 2nd best in the NBA, and the more he becomes a point guard, like his buddy Jokic, the better he will get. Sure he can always score 40, but when he starts getting 15 assists/game, he will truly be unstoppable.
Luka is so smooth, not quick and fast, cant jump high, but his moves looks so easy for him. Just like Steph Curry, slow dribble, no fancy quick irving style but passes defenders like butter. Irving uses too much energy to make a move, but Luka and Curry uses only little energy and more of a talent.

I won't call Luka unguardable before he is an elite 3 pt shooter. His 3 pt shooting percentage was above average late in the year. But I am not sure if he has to discipline to keep it there. At this point, he only an OK scoring option on a mediocre team. The MVP talk is STUPID.

None of what's pointed in this video would be possible for him to do if he didn't have the footwork he has.
If MJ could walk four steps before shooting......or Bird...or Dr. J, or Wilt.

Top 5 player in the world no cap

Luka is strong and knows how to use his strength like Barkley to score in the paint. He has a lightening quick cross-over for a guy his size. He's special. He might be the most hybrid of hybrid players now. It doesn't hurt that he can hit outside shots from anywhere with confidence. He'll be a top 10 or top 5 player of all time if he stays healthy.
I think the term your looking for is cadence. Bruce Lee talked about cadence of movement in martial arts a lot and I've never seen anyone in basketball utilize this quality so masterfully
With god and hard work I will be a top 3 player all time no dought let’s get to work
Luka could go down as the best point guard ever he’s got a Magic type of build and IQ with the scoring of a Harden plus he grabs boards like Magic too
Luka is Larry Bird junior
Luka uses his eurostep the same way Manu did, not just to sidestep but to jumanji his way toward the rim
Not to be mean but I think the guy talking meant to say JaMychal Green, not PG.
The thumbnail proves that everyone in the NBA casually and repeatedly carries the ball. This is isn’t Luka’s edge since everyone does it!
thts a fact
5:21 Brad, do you remember me? yeah, you do, I was 17 when you were playing for Fenerbahçe... this time there is no Vesely to kill me in the paint...
Always remember lads

Luka baits you into thinking he is slow but he isnt
Luka biggest weakness is emotional. He gives low effort sometimes when things dont go his way. And his technicals. But amazing play. So smart.
he's still young, man. give him some leeway.
Luka plays fundamental basketball. Fundamentals is lacking in the pros because they are so athletic, they play as if they don't need fundamentals.
Nothing new here I've seen this before with Magic. If Doncic is 6'0, no change of speed will make him effective.
The instance of him at 5:10 where he changes speed is good, but he uses that push-cross the instant he knows that kawhii isn't coming from behind to strip him. That's the moment he bursts out the gate, not because of the defender in front.
If he was super athletic Jesus we talking Lebron level 😤🖖🏾
His iq and control is a notch above lebron
ag trherhg er your cap he does not have Lebron iq
@@calebwatkins7386 his iq and awareness/vision are far better than lebron srry
@@agtrherhger484 at 21 especially.... but LeBron fan boys will never acknowledge this.... even if his stats are clearly better than his while playing almost 10 less minutes a game than LeBron in his first two seasons...
Yeah and surely he hasn’t reach his peak athleticism yet
Luka is easily the most funnest player to watch in the NBA right now (2022). Can't wait for the new season to start.
Luka has the same reading as cp3, luka is taller, bigger and stronger thats why he excels so much,
You can say he is one of the top 3 of the best point guard in the league right now
Short breakdown: He is insanely good at everything except running and jumping, and even at that he is above average if you compare him with players 6'7 or more.
LOL!!!!!
with this kind of DEFENSE nowdays ..
Most of range shoter's
Be unstopable...trash nba todays..
Vomit..

This was a very good breakdown of some of the secret sauce Luka Doncic uses 💯
Thank you 👍
Is not his physical ability to change pace, it’s his timing. Luka is slow. Everybody has the ability.
It’s the skill on the ball coupled with fakes and knowledge of when exactly to wrong foot the defender.
Is it that you think people can't tell the difference between NBA 2020 and real life or what?
Seriously why the fuck are you showing video game Clips on a Breakdown of an actual players play style?
Yup. It's angles, timing, and change of pace/direction. He forces you to commit one way and then counters the other...& he is money either way.
This is a good video, but I don't think Luka is an average NBA athlete. He is actually very quick, strong, and coordinated.
Bias much. Luka is not a rookie. He been pro for awhile. He grew up as a professional basketball player with professional training. Even in his early teens he played against a NBA team. He has the experience.
Not changing the great quality of this video. Don’t know who that is at 1:49, it’s not PG who’s guarding Luka.
Luka Dončić is better when at footwork and especially to her killer step back shot her moves are simple but these incredible
