I'm so surprised there isn't a service providing such a simple solution to overseas brands. The demand is huge from what you can see from this comment section alone. I would sub for such service myself too.
The issue is liability as the legal representative and also the 25% UBO, which means you are giving someone 25% of your company (if you do it properly). Does TikTok check the ownership relation? Probably not. It is not yet like Payoneer, which now wants a copy of your operating agreement and ownership signed by your attorney or CPA or notarized to reduce fraud. We are checking with our attorney and insurance provider regarding all the recommended steps.

There are some holes here. As a Canadian trying to sign up for shop right now and going through the process, the US rep needs to be listed on your company (it is not just an “authorized” individual). They need to show their name on the EIN letter from the IRS as well. The ITIN is also mandatory if you don’t have an SSN

TikTok’s requirement for a U.S.-based Ultimate Beneficial Owner (UBO) means non-residents will need to partner with a U.S. individual who holds at least 25% of the company. This partnership can raise some tax and legal implications that must be carefully managed. Keep in mind that the UBO will need to be reported on your FinCEN report. Don’t mess with FinCEN; there is more than a $10K fine on the line.
Thats the point, with a llc as a non us resident i need to pay taxes in the us if i have someone in the us as a business rep

While registering for Tiktok Shop, when it ask the type of company setup, did you select Cooperation or Partnership? Because I think for Partnership, it asks for Ultimate beneficial owner (UBO) who also needs to be US citizen as they ask for US passport or driver's license. But for Cooperation, i think there they provide you an option of US representative. Would really help if you can clear this doubt. thanks

No charge or contract - they're awesome and we have a good personal relationship with them. The account login is held by us and we give them access if/when needed.

Thanks for detailed guide. Also I am interested, when you create separate entity LLC only for tiktok shop. It means you need separate accountant for US company and make sure all legal stuff and taxes were paid properly and papers provided for some US tax inspection or whatever they named in US? Did you clarify what a responsibility comes with US LLC in terms of accountant stuff?
It depends on the set up you want. You could have an LLC and that's the company that owns your TikTok and Amazon accounts.
Accounting wise you're best off speaking with a CPA as it'll depend on the entity type you go for. We have a partnership LLC so we know what accounts need to be filed at year end for that (which is pretty straight forward).

We'd advise posting from within the US (especially to begin with). Then test using a VPN and see if it still gets pushed to the correct audience.

it is not possible, I tried it myself as UK individaul with UK personal details, and Tiktok will not allow me to open US tiktok shop

Just know when u file for an EIN you must hire an accountant and file your taxes.

Thanks for the video. There is a section during the registration that requires information about the Ultimate beneficial owner (UBO) of the business. This person also has to be a US resident. So my question is, did you use the US-authorized representative to be the UBO even though this is not the case for your business?
Don't believe they need to be a US resident. We put ourselves as owners as non residents and it was fine.

No. We were able to submit UBO details with foreign addresses.

No - we spoke with TikTok directly and were told that isn't required.

hello! im doing dropshipping from china into Singapore but tiktok only allows for tiktok shipping and I cant seem to find an option where I can choose overseas shipping. and seller's shipping is only available for selected categories of items. any idea how I can work around this?

How can I set up a fulfillment warehouse in TikTok using a US address if my store is set up in the UK? I'm trying to map this with my Shopify store configuration ?
Not sure exactly what you mean mate.
If you intend to fulfill with FBT (TikTok's service) then just put a 3PL that you use in the US, then when you're through you can select FBT as your fulfillment method.
You can also do that same method for connecting Amazon fulfillment.
If you mean you want to sell from your UK store onto TikTok USA - I don't know if that's possible. We're selling from our US amazon account.

As it stands you'll need to make an LLC and set it up via that.
If you sell on US amazon under your UK LTD you can still link the US LLC owned TikTok Shop account to it.

Assuming you have a single member LLC? Mention in the vid ours is a partnership so EIN works. Single member LLC's need an ITIN.
