The whole reason I watched this video is because I'm trying to figure out the logistics and fulfillment part. You can't import from China "otherwise your shop will get banned?" but I see other tiktok shops with 10-15 day delivery time wich makes me think they figured out a way around it? HOW??? And I can't afford a 3PL yet. Do I just bulk import products and ship them myself? That would be a pain unless there was a way around it like with these other shops... These questions I cannot for the life of me, find answers to on RUclips. This is probably the 14th video on "How to sell on Tiktok shop" I've watched and And still nobody is talking about this part.
tiktok only gives 3 days for shop owner to fill in the tracking number, so it has to have inventory locally platforms like DropTK has products that are already dropshippable from the US.
Ship yourself to test products. You can import 100 units or less to test then once you have a winner go 3PL. I'm curious what you mean by you can't afford a 3PL. There is minimal upfront cost with onboarding to a 3PL, you don't get charged until they fulfill the orders.
I see what you're saying but working with affiliates won't generate a sustainable biz like ad traffic. It will generate a stable CoGS/margins as the CPA is fixed but in terms of revenue, it's impossible to build anything with affiliates as they'll (in 99% of cases) only share it with their followers (which grows at less than 1%/month) and you constantly need to look for new affiliates (and you'll have weeks with zero new affiliates that manage to do high scale - and what if you already down 6 or 7 figs for stock as you had a good month but now you only gain traction from tier-3 affiliates who sell few products weekly? The interest on the loan would kill your business). Why I said "99% of cases"? The only way it'll work with affiliates is if THEY are media buyers and THEY will pay for ads, something that financially won't make any sense (if it was working, you'd just pay them fixed $400 or $4,,000 to make the video, and you'll be the one to pay for ads). There's no affiliate/influencer/creator arbitrage when it comes to TikTok ads.

I would never have predicted that in the future young people would want to become shopkeepers or market stallholders. Essentially that’s what they are just on a virtual platform. It’s good that the barriers to entry are pretty low and almost anyone can use it to make money (or not) but I don’t know it feels weird selling junk to people who probably don’t need what’s being sold. But that’s commerce in a nutshell I guess

Good question. I took my products I am selling already on Amazon and am now selling them on TikTok shop! So no I am not dropshipping or using AliExpress.

Hi Trevin, Probably silly question, but what % you pay to affiliates? I think you mentioned 15%? The silly question is: is it 15% from the price of the product or from your profit. e.g. product sale price $20 so 15% out of 20? or product price $20, your cost to obtain product is $5 so 15% out of $15?
% varies and is up to you!! But it is off the price. So if you sell for $100 and you affiliate percentage is 15%. You would pay the affiliate $15 for every sale they drive
@@TrevinPeterson Oh, I misunderstood. You only send 1 unit to the affiliate and then YOU (or a fulfillment center) fulfill the orders. I just spent the day trying to get approved for the shop. Still not approved. They're saying that my Passport and utility bill look blurry or altered. If I don't give up on this, my plan is to link a new business account to the seller shop and then to sign up as an affiliate with my main account, so I can still use the music I like in my videos.

You need a friend in the USA that you can use the last 4 digits of their SSN, a picture of their DL or passport, copy of their utility bill with their address on it, plus set up a LLC or C -corp for the business number. I am from Canada and after 6 weeks of trying i got in and now am a tiktok seller - was not easy but will be worth it.

You will need to create and LLC and get an ITIN number. Definitely a longer and more complicated process for those outside the US
