i just started playing LOR last week, had my first game against Ryze. And yes, he won with the exodia.. had to search it up after the game to realize what happened. so frustrating
That was me in the video. In my defense, i just got back to the game after a while and thought Ryze looked cool to play and fit my playstyle. I surrenderes because, at this time, i only had one copy of Ryze on my deck bc i didn't have the resources for more.
I came back after 4 months break to climb again and i ran into many annoying Ryze decks while i was playing normal Anivia control deck like a decent person but now i 've realized going back to my Npc Lurk brain is the best option and i managed to climb from bronz to plat in 2 nights 🦈
I play against those decks all the time and they are the easiest for Ryze. Just keep a Deny at all times, but even if they obliterate all your landmarks you can stall long enough to play them again. One time I got my stones obliterated twice and still managed to win lol
tbh I get the hate for ryze boards, but after playing a fair bit of ryze, if you know what cards they have roughly, I find it much less infuriating now. Playing against ryze with no idea what spells he has HURTS though
I don’t agree with you when you play a lot of ranked you basically know which cards are in almost every deck but that doesn’t make it less frustrating to play against. When your game plan relies on getting big stats/weapons or high cost units and they get recalled for 3/4 mana or stunned every attack just ain’t fun so ofc it’s frustrating because you almost don’t get to play the game, but if you enjoy ryze or like his play style good for you

Some decks are just horrible into ryze at the moment, but high pressure early decks are serving me pretty well. Idk why though Ryze just doesn’t annoy as much as stuff like Lurk/Norra decks
I remember playing Riven Viktor while doing the dumbest desicions possible against most meta Ryze deck and still winning. I was kinda angry not gonna lie

Ryze is the worst designed champ in Runeterra since Darius in my opinion. You either have 0 fun cuz you're fighting it or 0 fun because you're playing it.

@@silva81 Really? viktor is crucial for the deck?? the cost reduction on lvl 2 is sooo huge and he gives alternate wincon for the deck besides avatar value. Viktor is a must have for this, his cost reduction lets you cast soo much more of avatar's spells. and he makes the spells always garenteed 2 be doubled by seraph

Ryze is was created to make someone unhappy in every game. If he's strong he's frustrating. If he's weak, he's just a meme card no one plays.
I actually loved ryze when he was weak. Felt fun. But yeah, he is a card that should never be meta
