    Nice video and great shots! Often ants will hang around aphids and drink the sweet plant juice the aphids excrete. In return the ants actually protect the aphids from other predators. I wonder if that was going on in your ant scene

    Those ants aren't eating the aphids. They're "farming" them. They protect the aphids from predators and parasitoids then get to collect the honeydew produced by the bugs.

    Thanks Jamie, how are you finding the new combination of OM-1 and 90mm? Better than previous camera and 60mm?

      Thank you! I'm not a morning person at all, so I find it so hard to get out there at 5am 😂

      If you can’t wake up early like me, do what I do and stay up late instead. Night walks can produce just as many opportunities.
      *edit: Jamie has a night walk video released three weeks ago. Perfect example, check it out.

    Question for you, Given you didnt have any need/pressure to record videos would you still find signifigant value having two main cameras, (EosR+Omd) and if you had to give up one to move to an all in one setup which one would you gravitate toward? (Loving seeing another mft shooter by the way)

    • @JamieSpensley
      @JamieSpensley  11 дней назад

      I like to use the EOS R for other types of photography and shooting video, but I much prefer OM System for macro photography. If I had to give up one, I'd probably give up full frame and shoot just on MFT

    Hello sir, i really like your videos and u was big factor for my decision to buy my first camera. I basically copied your older setup (em1. mark2+60mm macro).
    So thank you for kinda pushing me into the new hobby (hopefully hobby that will last me lifetime).
    I recently found your video where u compared your old camera to your new (em1.2 in that case), and i found it interesting, so just wanted to ask if you planning to do same comparison video about differences between em1.2 and om1.2, also zuiko 60/90 mm ?

      That's awesome! That would make for an interesting video, I might make a video on that soon 👍

    Great video - with your stacks, what do you use to stack them in to get final image ? I’ve heard helicon focus is good

      Thanks! I don't stack in camera. I just use the focus bracketing feature and then stack the images in Zerene Stacker on my PC. I haven't really tried out in camera stacking before

      @@JamieSpensleysorry I wasn't clearing. I'm taking when you get home and sorting your pics on pc .lightroom has a feature that you can search pictures taken within 1sec of each other. That shows all your stack pictures neatly .I don't have lightroom so was asking for any tips. I think before photographers would take a pic of their hand .

    Can you make a single shot only video? Im curious how good photos one can get with only single shots.

    • @JamieSpensley
      @JamieSpensley  15 дней назад +1

      Sounds like a good idea. And will save me lots of time when it comes to editing the photos 😂

      @@JamieSpensley exactly :). To be honest im influenced by you, and want to start doing this hobby. But editing and focus stacking feels cumbersome for me. So im curious what would the results be only with single shots. And what kind of equipment would suffice

    how many pictures can you take with the em1 mkii until it can't take any more ?

    • @JamieSpensley
      @JamieSpensley  15 дней назад

      As many as my sd or flash can handle. My flash overheats sometimes when taking lots of images but the camera can keep going

    • @diedurchfalloseverdauung709

      @@JamieSpensley And how many are there exactly? With the mkiii it only takes about 60 for the buffer to be full

    Would really encourage you to try without the background cards and to try and make natural backgrounds with a leaf/ flower etc. I think it would really level up your photographs

      Ticks aren't much of a problem in the UK so I'm not too worried

      That was my question, too. I’m in Pennsylvania and ticks are highly prevalent. I was freaking out while you were laying on the ground😁
