I agree... and I truly hope there is a scene where Colin finally gets to see how Pen is being treated in that house. It would help him understand so much more why Pen has sometimes struggled with her confidence. If he sees it.. it's going to break his heart. x
Thank you for saying this! I feel like it is something overlooked by a lot of folks and it is so important character development wise. Not excusing her from keeping the LW secret but she has never had much support and LW was a lifeline for her. I wish the writers had not gone this route but trust in the story and the incredible talent portraying the story.

I'm not sure if it's a theory or just something my delulu brain wants, but I think after Colin finds out about Pen's LW identity at the end of ep 6, that it's going to be Eloise helping him reconcile that Pen, the love of his life, and Lady Whistledown, someone who he currently despises, is the same person throughout ep 7. And in doing that, Eloise will forgive/or open herself up to forgiving Pen. Things I want to happen regarding the finale of season 3: - Pen and Eloise rekindle their friendship, or at least start to - Lady Whistledown's identity is NOT revealed to the ton and she keeps writing (+ maybe some Lord Whistledown) - confirmation that season 4 is Benedict's
I have a theory what if in episode 8 pen reveals as lw to queen with bridgertons and ton does not know and queen tells her to continue writing only knowing her now.😅
Dear gentle podcasters thank you so much for being so considerate with us listeners about the spoilers 🙏 I am specifically avoiding them, I want to keep most of the discovery for when I get to watch the episodes. I don't want the feeling of surprise to be toned down because I'd know things already. But I love listening to your predictions! For the life of me I cannot endure a full trailer. The agony of having to wait for the release is already enough. This teaser is fine. I can't deal with more, because if there is more, I will want to watch it and I'll go insane as it doesn't change the fact that I still have to wait nonetheless and worse I'll have even more questions in mind... Gosh I already sound deranged ! 🤪🤯 If the mirror scene really happens before Colin knows she is Whistledown I will be a bit disappointed. The scene will still be beautiful I have no doubt about it but... I really want it to happen when they are on equal foot and know all of each other. The scene would then be all the more meaningful and impactful. I'm still holding onto my rope of hope and delusion, against the high winds, I believe we'll get a love scene in ep 5 and the real mirror scene later after the two have come to terms with the whistledown affair. I truly treasure any scene with siblings interactions, one of the main reasons I love this series and can I say that the (non-romantic) triangle between Colin, Pen and Eloise is an absolute delight? I'm really glad we got to explore the relationship between Colin and Eloise, the scenes they had in part 1 already delivered so much! And part 2 is bound to have more awesome Pen&Eloise and Eloise&Colin scenes, I even hope we'll have the three of them together (as in next to each other in the same frame) at some point. Once the conflict over Lady whistledown is over imagine the potential for cute and hilarious moments of Pen being caught up between Colin and Eloise fighting for Pen's attention and affection. I WANT this next season 🤭 Oh but poor Pen... the amount of obstacles and stress she has to face before reaching that happy future... We're rooting for you Pen! Lechi, I'm right there with you sobbing over Frohn, especially last ep when one of y'all said something about the silence becoming unbearable for Fran, I was not okay. I'm also with y'all in that there are certain scenes I didn't want to happen without Colin knowing about Whistledown. I think the only way I'll be able to get behind it, is if she's like, I would never withhold this information from you in order to trap you. I just didn't know how to tell you and I was scared, but if you don't want anything to do with me after this, I understand. And then like y'all said, he'd have a moment where he's like, no I'm upset, but we're a team, we're gonna deal with this. I feel like what makes having Whistledown hanging over their heads so painful is how similar it is to the Marina situation, especially knowing in the books how Colin's like, "It was clever of you to release the LW issue at our engagement, when you knew I wouldn't leave you." I just need a moment where Pen's like, I'm not trying to deceive you in the way Marina did and he's like, I know that this is different than that. And I need it to be in a way that is still compassionate towards Marina, showing how they both have grown from S1 and see that situation differently. I hate whenever I see people in the fandom who are like, "Marina's a horrible person" and Pen also gets a lot of that hate too. They are both flawed human beings, who've made mistakes and were just trying to do the best they could in the situations they were in and they hurt people in the process, but they can and do grow from it. However this all plays out, I just want it to ultimately honor all the characters involved and not feed into those takes. I know people will continue to have those opinions regardless and it is what it is, I just don't want to feel like the narrative is pushing me to take sides, if that makes sense? Who knows, maybe they won't even bring Marina into it and I'm worried for nothing lmao. It'd be really cool for him to have a moment where he goes down that list of things she said her purpose would be last season and he's like, "Pen this ticks all those boxes for you, you can't give this up." The double points of encouraging her to keep pursuing her dreams, but also he memorized that speech word for word because the little dummy was in love with her this whole time and he didn't even know it 😂 Also, the "You're my mess" line better be in part two and I better see some fan edits of it set to the second verse of Dancing With Our Hands Tied by Taylor Swift. I will be devastated if that doesn't happen.
I follow polin commentary everywhere and I have yet to see anyone speak to Eloise’s role in the break up with Pen. Pen didn’t write about Eloise for no reason. She was trying to save her and the Bridgertons. So she wrote a piece, close enough to the true scandal that was about to come out about Eloise, and bad enough to dissuade the Queen from ruining the entire family but not bad enough to ruin E entirely, which the truth would have. Did she handle it great? no, she should have told Eloise and let them solve it together, but she wasn’t a maniacal monster intent on destroying her best friend. I desperately want Eloise to have some accountability to this in part 2.
I'm not upset about Eloise saying "you cannot marry him" because I think she respects Pen's commitment to lady whistledown, even though she is still in a tremendous amount of pain. She never tried to manipulate and say "give up lady whistledown and I will be your friend." She loves Pen so much she is keeping her secret. He objection to Colin is that she can't hide LW from him and she knows the only thing Pen wants is to hide LW and keep it going. El is going along with all of that but needs to cut Pen out of her life. Also we soon find out that she has doubts about their true friendship if she loved Colin for so long. "You cannot marry him" is more about wanting honesty and trust among Pen, Colin and El... not because of any other reasonable objection.

I watched soo many of POLIN discussion videos on RUclips before part 1 that the series actually disappointed me. It felt like I knew what was going to happen, even the things that were never in the book. So I have been staying away from all spoilers this time, I'm gonna watch part 2 absolutely fresh. Your podcast really tested my resolve because I wanted to watch it so bad but as soon as I heard spoiler warnings, I stopped. 😄 I am going to listen to this after Part 2. Also I just ... reallyyy realllyy disliked colin's hair when it was slikbacked wig. I liked it when it had those curls but in the same scene his hair would be different and I hated the slick back wig. It actually distracted me from the actual scene. Ick ! Hoping part 2 is better and waiting desperately as usual ! ❣

Pen just gets tired of the tons talking about Cressida being Lady Whistledown. More and more frustrated. The ton admiring her or congratulating Cressida on being that clever. Like you said Colin finds Pen going to a printers shop and as he’s grilling her, she SNAPS and shouts that it’s not Cressida. Never been and she’s not going to take this one amazing thing that she’s ever done from her. Like the book but without the glorious carriage scene lol. The night ends with him getting out at Bridgerton house alone and he needs to cool off. Maybe we will get the same scene from the book. Just different timeline.

I follow polin commentary everywhere and I have yet to see anyone speak to Eloise’s role in the break up with Pen. Pen didn’t write about Eloise for no reason. She was trying to save her and the Bridgertons. So she wrote a piece, close enough to the true scandal that was about to come out about Eloise, and bad enough to dissuade the Queen from ruining the entire family but not bad enough to ruin E entirely, which the truth would have. Did she handle it great? no, she should have told Eloise and let them solve it together, but she wasn’t a maniacal monster intent on destroying her best friend. I desperately want Eloise to have some accountability to this in part 2.
I'm not upset about Eloise saying "you cannot marry him" because I think she respects Pen's commitment to lady whistledown, even though she is still in a tremendous amount of pain. She never tried to manipulate and say "give up lady whistledown and I will be your friend." She loves Pen so much she is keeping her secret. He objection to Colin is that she can't hide LW from him and she knows the only thing Pen wants is to hide LW and keep it going. El is going along with all of that but needs to cut Pen out of her life. Also we soon find out that she has doubts about their true friendship if she loved Colin for so long. "You cannot marry him" is more about wanting honesty and trust among Pen, Colin and El... not because of any other reasonable objection.

I watched soo many of POLIN discussion videos on RUclips before part 1 that the series actually disappointed me. It felt like I knew what was going to happen, even the things that were never in the book.
So I have been staying away from all spoilers this time, I'm gonna watch part 2 absolutely fresh. Your podcast really tested my resolve because I wanted to watch it so bad but as soon as I heard spoiler warnings, I stopped. 😄
I am going to listen to this after Part 2.
Also I just ... reallyyy realllyy disliked colin's hair when it was slikbacked wig. I liked it when it had those curls but in the same scene his hair would be different and I hated the slick back wig. It actually distracted me from the actual scene. Ick !

Could Peneloise reconciliation come from Eloise not wanting Pen’s accomplishments being unclaimed?! I think Pen would be the one more happy to let it slide (until of course Cressida comes along)
The only spoiler I want to hear about part two is that that wonderful effing balloon comes back.

Pen just gets tired of the tons talking about Cressida being Lady Whistledown. More and more frustrated. The ton admiring her or congratulating Cressida on being that clever.
Like you said Colin finds Pen going to a printers shop and as he’s grilling her, she SNAPS and shouts that it’s not Cressida. Never been and she’s not going to take this one amazing thing that she’s ever done from her.
Like the book but without the glorious carriage scene lol. The night ends with him getting out at Bridgerton house alone and he needs to cool off.
Maybe we will get the same scene from the book. Just different timeline.
