You did a good job tackling the Hulk in Kirby's, Keown's, and Keith's style Retro. I have to ask you something, what shape/form do you use when drawing the Hulk's nose and hair?
Thank you! Good points, those are what makes the Hulk. The stubby nose and and the Medieval haircut. Especially Kirby does the nose very high, almost between the eyes. I didn't really do that here.. Dale does a quite regular face and Kieth has the huge chin.
You are welcome. I forgot to mention McFarlane in my comment. I watched a tutorial of his on drawing the Hulk, and he said his nose shape was a loaf of bread. Also, thank you for your helpful advice.
Nice job on the Sam Keith Hulk. For me his art style kind of gives me like a dream state kind of feeling. By the way, with his creator-owned character, The Maxx didn’t it feel like an amalgamation of Wolverine and the Hulk in a way?
Yes, I felt the Maxx didn't need the hand blades, that made it a bit cliche. The rest of the character was unique enough. The colors and that mask. Together with Spawn probably the most instantly iconic character at Image.
@@retrosuperheroart2202 Amazing video! My favorite Hulk is McFarlane's. It's a shame the video is short and didn't have time for him :( If you could release a part two with more detailed drawings like you did for the others, that'd be awesome. I love McFarlane's Hulk because he's gray (which is so cool lol) and he's both "cute" and scary. I didn't know about Sam's Hulk, but I found the concept incredible. I'm going to start reading his comics, beginning with one my dad has at home featuring Hulk and Wolverine. Loved the video.
@@samuelvicenzo6181 Yes, that's the series. Hulk and Wolverine. Awesome stuff. I thought I'd try the others cause I tried McFarlane about 3 times already, but then again, can't get enough of McFarlane lol
@@retrosuperheroart2202 Me too lol. But I find your version of Hulk really hard to replicate in a way that looks decent. That's why I made the suggestion-it was kind of a cry for help lol
Dale Keown is my favourite hulk artist, but that Sam Keith hulk is something else. I love Sam Keith’s venom.
Oh yeah, Marvel Comics Presents had that Sam Kieth Venom. I loved that one as well. Best Wolverine ever as well.

@@robertcarey45 lol, yeah, that's it! wide and kindof squished.
@retrosuperheroart2202 Everybody has their own way of doing things. 🙂
I like your drawings
Thanks!
0:16 the bottom left is drawn by Bruce Timm trying to do it in a Kirby style.
OMG.. he succeeded.. lol

Mainly because of the crosshatching he uses and the amount of detail. And honestly, I don't get the lighting in 80 and 90s comic book art lol
Vídeo top ❤
Thank you!
