Okay but holding that shield to block and gather arrows was actually the single biggest brain thing I've seen literally anybody pull, ever. Skyrim turned into an immersive sim for a hot minute.
You can also just chill out in the Castle Dour courtyard in Solitude and watch the Imperials pepper the archery targets for a bit, then run up and grab all the arrows stuck in the targets. No danger to yourself and also works faster since there's typically three archers firing more or less nonstop at a target they can't miss.

This is not a junk video. This video was even more enjoyable than the first Ironman because I did not know if, how, or when it was going to end. Salvage more failed challenges - your expert level editing makes even a mild run supremely entertaining to watch.
Idk about anyone else, but I love these kind of videos. The 2 ironmans and the solstheim region lock are some of my favorite videos on your channel. I hope you continue to attempt more challenging runs like these, and maybe make a series out of it.

People on actual Runescape love seeing challange runs, to bad Joov doesnt do them for an actual period of time instead of not even 20 hours. In Runescape those actual region lock UIMs take over thousands of hours to actually complete.
@@AngRyGohanHis deaths tend to stop the runs before they can go that far. Hes also doing this for content, and while it would be exhilarating to see a montage of thousands of hours of work on a Skyrim character, he has to switch it up eventually so he can keep making videos and keeping streams interesting. As a runescape player that likes pushing myself for 1,000+ hour challenges, it's not very good for a stream.
7:25 - 11:05 was some of the most entertaining Skyrim content I've seen. I was literally on the edge of my seat. Definitely do another Iron Man series - maybe even add in a few rules to make it more difficult, like you can't exit a dungeon you already entered or something.

For anyone who may not know: If your animation cancel after getting the first ore while mining and every ore after you can get one extra ore. Ie: Initiate mining, get first ore, cancel animation, begin mining again, get next ore, animation cancel, ect.
@derekshropshire2513 it does take a little longer to animation cancel, but the extra ore is worth it imo. Plus, there's technically an increased chance of getting gemstones from mining bc you're getting one extra proc on the ore drop.
The fallout 4 without leaving the road inspired me to play the game for the first time in 6 years, even picked up the dlcs for cheap with the summer sale. I’m loving every moment of it. Thank you Joov.
Good to hear ya love this challenge as it gives me hope we'll continue to see more of these. Yeah, there is the boring part on these runs (when you have to prepare your stuff etc) for sure, but likewise every single encounter and/or mishap is also so much more exciting and tense to see when it means the difference between your reward for the fight will either be being able to continue playing, or winning a new fresh run all from the beginnning again. Point being, definitely fun to watch for sure.
Yo have you ever thought of doing the Doug Doug technique? All the challenges that go correctly and can fit well in a video can go on the main channel, and you can start another second channel for all the miscellaneous videos. Papa could always use more Joov
That's an interesting idea. I think if we got to the point where we were overflowing with completed videos 6-8 times per month I would probably make a third channel. I'm always a bit nervous releasing some more "Experimental" videos on the main channel - if we ever do have a surplus, I'd love to do that some day
I just want to thank you Joov, because not only your videos provide so much fun and entertainment, you actually inspired me to do my own Skyrim ironman playthrough. It is a completely new and very enjoyable way to play the game but playing permadeath on Legrnd difficulty sometimes makes things absolutely infuriating
My favorite type of Bingo is 'Find the DougDoug Bingo' , I swear (among a particular genre of youtuber) there's a 1 in 3 chance that Doug will show up in one of their videos.
after watching a completely different channel/series & the person mentioning they were afraid of failing runs because they'd have to restart the vid, i was actually wishing that we could see the failed challenge because i watch a vid/series for the personality and editing, not just the outcome! happy coincidence ty for the vid :D
I can imagine the Skyrim Ironman challenge being more interesting with mods that improve on the crafting and smithing parts of the game a a whole. That way it feels more like you're interacting with fleshed out mechanics instead of the mediocre vanilla systems. Just a thought. I really enjoy your content so I'm excited to see whatever your next project is!
I absolutely do not care if you think a challenge or video is trash. I just don't like videos that are over 2 hours long. So as long as you will cut it down, I will watch everything. And I mean everything.

Hey Joov, if you ever take the time away from playing Bethesda games in ways they probably never should've been played to read comments, I just wanna say my thing. I started watching your videos recently and you've probably become my favorite youtuber since a long while. The amount of effort you put into every video on both this and VOD channel (binge watching your vods on my second monitor has become a routine of mine) just bleeds through the screen. Every single minute is entertaining and every video is full of little gems to gush about to my imaginary friends that would understand this particular niche that you occupy. You never fail to make my day a little better and in true Bethesda fashion, you mastered milking all these 10 year old games to their absolute limit. I can't wait to see more. hey i played like this all during lockdown for covid. i was getting tired of getting one shot by dragons from fullhealth so i found amod that let me turn kill moves off on player. i found it help so much and made it easyer to play. i also had a potion mod that made all healing potion heal over time so it was imposibly for me to potion spam love the videos
Not sure if I’m the only one, this makes me want a vanity fair 10 things I can’t live without styled video of Joovs top 10 binned challenges. Make it spicy at over a few hours as well

The content is an amazing blend of calmness within the chaos of these absurd challenges. I enjoy it. An intriguing playstyle of giving a f@#$ and not giving a f@$# at the same time. Cheers!
Challenge suggestion. Only use the items you can find in each Dungeon. So, you drop your inventory before you enter and can only use the stuff from that specific dungeon. You can use whatever you find to get you from the last dungeon to the next but the moment you arrive. It's gone.
I think a better way would just be you use the loot from the last dungeon to get to and through the next one, that way it doesn't just waste time dying over and over at the start of any dungeon because he has literally nothing
Isn't better to only know the tasks in bingo and someone tracking the progress until hitting the bingo? Maybe is better do bingo 1v1 when opponents know the other bingo boards and knowing own tasks but not own bingo board. Love to see Jabo vs Joov bingo battle.
Honestly you could put commentary over a 100% vanilla playthrough of fallout 3 and I'd still watch it. You're a genuinely entertaining person with a natural charisma about you that I can't quite place. I appreciate the effort you put in your videos, thank you
I think I've figured out a solution to the permadeath conundrum. A Punishment/Handicap wheel! Every time you die in one of these challenges you spin the wheel and have to do whatever you land on. I.e no more magical healing or banished from Whiterun. Etc . The community could maybe vote on some to add. Maybe there could be things you could do to remove a single handicap, like beat the main quest or collect a set amount of a certain item. I too enjoy when things have real stakes but hate to see a fun run end. Plus I imagine that a couple of Handicaps piling up could be entertaining.
Hey man ive recently discovered your content and its awesome how you can still make entertaining content out of a failed challange. Youve got more persoverance than most peole i know 😅
as valuable as Vegetable Soup is (especially to challenge/speed-runners), its a damn shame that Tomatoes cant be planted, even though every other ingredient IS plantable...so you can stock up on Potatoes, Cabbage, Carrots, and Leeks, but your 'output' of Soup will still be bottlenecked by how many Tomatoes you can buy/steal/find/obtain...

This was a fun video to watch because the initial BINGO stream was the first one I ever caught live so seeing the highlights and having been there to see it happen was a lot of fun. Looking forward to BINGO 2.0!
Personally I would try "Reverse Bingo" or "HORSE Bingo" Where basically you generate a bunch of extremely common occurrences that happen in the game, and try to complete the game without filling out a bingo. 3 lifelines, square shuffle, undo, and immunity time (like 2 minutes where if something happens it won't fill out the board)
I tried an ironman run with the "Walking Dead" mod installed that revives all draugur or undead enemies every 10 seconds after they die in combat. Im shocked I didn't die in bleak falls, but I managed to reach level 32 so far with handcrafted elven armor. I am terrified of every single dungeon with dragur though.
I don't know how plausible this is to actually do but what if you could combine the "species randomizer" with the multiplayer mod so viewers can take on the roles of monsters and hide in various parts of the map as they try to stop you from completing the main quest?
Honestly if we got one of these "here are some scrapped ideas/videos for some reason or another" videos every couple of months that would be so cool, it feels like a sneak behind the curtain for those of us who don't watch twitch
yeah... that perfectly shows why I don't watch permadeath playthroughs or do permadeath myself. It's a waste of time, and gives the most unsatisfying end ever.
With the way Skyrim "works" i think that bandit behind the locked door unlocked the door when entering combat with you the first time, then the door auto shut after you left, locking the guy in. He SHOULD still be able to leave, but he aint leaving because either the door is considered inaccessible on his side or... he doesnt need to move because of the staff
yo idk if you'll see this but a cool idea would be to eat every single edible item in skyrim, if it can be eaten you need to eat it (even jarrin root). can add permadeath to make it more fun

A painful challenge would be to punch a giant to death with no followers, no armor, no weapons, no food, no healing, no shouts, and no khajit 😂😭 at level 1
I feel like a cool challenge would be to play through Skyrim or fallout, but you can only use the weapons or play style of the enemy you last killed, I don’t know what you would call it though, I just know that it would be cool.

I always just equip the pick and attack it to avoid the animation. Might have to start using your technique 😅

I absolutely do not care if you think a challenge or video is trash. I just don't like videos that are over 2 hours long. So as long as you will cut it down, I will watch everything. And I mean everything.

Hey Joov, if you ever take the time away from playing Bethesda games in ways they probably never should've been played to read comments, I just wanna say my thing.
I started watching your videos recently and you've probably become my favorite youtuber since a long while. The amount of effort you put into every video on both this and VOD channel (binge watching your vods on my second monitor has become a routine of mine) just bleeds through the screen. Every single minute is entertaining and every video is full of little gems to gush about to my imaginary friends that would understand this particular niche that you occupy. You never fail to make my day a little better and in true Bethesda fashion, you mastered milking all these 10 year old games to their absolute limit. I can't wait to see more. hey i played like this all during lockdown for covid. i was getting tired of getting one shot by dragons from fullhealth so i found amod that let me turn kill moves off on player. i found it help so much and made it easyer to play. i also had a potion mod that made all healing potion heal over time so it was imposibly for me to potion spam

1:48 similar thing happened to me. I was casually walking through apocrypha, and got jumpscared by ocean man song, when a lurker emerged.
Challenge suggestion. Only use the items you can find in each Dungeon. So, you drop your inventory before you enter and can only use the stuff from that specific dungeon. You can use whatever you find to get you from the last dungeon to the next but the moment you arrive. It's gone.
I think a better way would just be you use the loot from the last dungeon to get to and through the next one, that way it doesn't just waste time dying over and over at the start of any dungeon because he has literally nothing

Isn't better to only know the tasks in bingo and someone tracking the progress until hitting the bingo? Maybe is better do bingo 1v1 when opponents know the other bingo boards and knowing own tasks but not own bingo board. Love to see Jabo vs Joov bingo battle.

I think I've figured out a solution to the permadeath conundrum.
A Punishment/Handicap wheel!
Every time you die in one of these challenges you spin the wheel and have to do whatever you land on.
I.e no more magical healing or banished from Whiterun. Etc . The community could maybe vote on some to add.
Maybe there could be things you could do to remove a single handicap, like beat the main quest or collect a set amount of a certain item.
I too enjoy when things have real stakes but hate to see a fun run end.
Plus I imagine that a couple of Handicaps piling up could be entertaining.

1:38 your sword looks like the Voidwaker from OSRS and training melee on crabs is super popular
as valuable as Vegetable Soup is (especially to challenge/speed-runners), its a damn shame that Tomatoes cant be planted, even though every other ingredient IS plantable...so you can stock up on Potatoes, Cabbage, Carrots, and Leeks, but your 'output' of Soup will still be bottlenecked by how many Tomatoes you can buy/steal/find/obtain...
Enemies teleporting through doors and being able to hit you before the game even lets you move is just objectively bad game design

Personally I would try "Reverse Bingo" or "HORSE Bingo"
Where basically you generate a bunch of extremely common occurrences that happen in the game, and try to complete the game without filling out a bingo.
3 lifelines, square shuffle, undo, and immunity time (like 2 minutes where if something happens it won't fill out the board)

I tried an ironman run with the "Walking Dead" mod installed that revives all draugur or undead enemies every 10 seconds after they die in combat. Im shocked I didn't die in bleak falls, but I managed to reach level 32 so far with handcrafted elven armor. I am terrified of every single dungeon with dragur though.

I don't know how plausible this is to actually do but what if you could combine the "species randomizer" with the multiplayer mod so viewers can take on the roles of monsters and hide in various parts of the map as they try to stop you from completing the main quest?

yeah... that perfectly shows why I don't watch permadeath playthroughs or do permadeath myself. It's a waste of time, and gives the most unsatisfying end ever.
With the way Skyrim "works" i think that bandit behind the locked door unlocked the door when entering combat with you the first time, then the door auto shut after you left, locking the guy in. He SHOULD still be able to leave, but he aint leaving because either the door is considered inaccessible on his side or... he doesnt need to move because of the staff
yo idk if you'll see this but a cool idea would be to eat every single edible item in skyrim, if it can be eaten you need to eat it (even jarrin root). can add permadeath to make it more fun
