You make it seem so easy!!! Thank you! I've been putting off changing the zipper in my daughter's nearly-new jeans. Now I feel confident to give it a go!
Hi from Vancouver Island! Yes, I am up for the challenge. Just removed the zip. Easy. Now I need to buy the zip and report back. I will take it slow. Cheers from Kindle
I had never replaced a zipper. Someone needed one replaced and no one would do it. I watched your video and was able to do it almost perfectly!!! Thank you!!! Great teacher!!!
Today is my 2nd day at my new job as a seamstress doing mending and repairs. This video has set me up for success and I thank you for taking the time to make such an informational and educational video. Bravo to you and thank you again❤
Seems like putting in a jeans zipper is not a walk in the park! But, thanks for posting this and showing how it is done. At least it is there for us to watch again and again to get the hang of it!
I found your tutorial a few weeks ago when I was dreading to once again replace a zipper in jeans. I put the job off for a while, but today I looked up your tutorial again and followed you step by step. They turned out perfect!!!! I have been sewing all my life and professionally as well. I have now subscribed and will be checking in on you again. I love your accent !
OMGG I'm going to try this TONIGHT! My favorite pair of jeans has a broken zipper and I REFUSE to throw them away.... and now I don't have to! Thank you!!!
I’ve never done it before, but I sort of planned it in my head before I watched your tutorial, and this makes logical sense to me, thanks, I’m going to give this a try.
You are incredible! I learned about you by watching one of Catherine Sews videos. She recommended you and I totally agree. Thanks for sharing your knowledge and expertise.❤
Thank you. I needed to replace a zipper for the second time in my life, but could not remember how, so I came back to your tutorial and it worked wonderfully.
I really appreciated you mentioning that customers sometimes doubt what you have done, so evidence is handy. I tend to take photographs and save the original material so I have it at hand should there be any question. Once again I'd like to say 'Thank you' for a great video. YVR
EXCEPTIONAL INSTRUCTIONS!! I haven't done much sewing in many years and your video walked me through so thoroughly that the zipper went in flawlessly. Thank you!!!
OMG - that's insanely beautiful. What a great job! Patience of a saint. That is a lot of steps. Plus, of course since you are a professional tailor, you are using a very strong industrial machine. I would love to have one. But I'll have to make it work with my home sewing machine. I don't think I could thread two threads through my needle though. I might give it a try just to see what happens. What a great idea.
Hi! Thanks so much 🥰 I would recommend to use a bigger size needle (size 16 or (18) to work on this kind of material. It will facilitate the job a bunch. Good luck 😊
Great job there! I wish I'd have watched it the whole way through because at the end you say about not sewing over the zipper. I had the correct length of zipper, but put it on the top first and ended up having to go over the zipper. But, it was my first time and I'm ecstatic that I replace a jeans zipper! Thank you so very much! I think it's more difficult to remove the old one than it is installing the new one. You're the best!
My dear lady you are so gifted and I enjoy all your videos. Professional and straight forward. Thank you for all the different help you have given me via Utube.
Thanks for doing the whole thing cause i need to do my jeans and my granddaughters favorite jeans zippers. You explained everything and showed it all. I loved it. Im new sub. My granddaughter will also be watching your channel so yes im sharing this as i have 7 granddaughters!❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤
This is a much better way of doing it, thanks so much for sharing! Yes I currently do it the other way - I leaned it that way and never questioned it, but it always irks me that you can’t sew the ‘J’ in one go without sewing in part of the under flap with it, so you get a little curved line of sewing on the inside (which wasn’t there in the original jeans). It seems so obvious now I’ve seen you do it - I’m totally converted, thank you!!
love your thorough videos! sadly I recently threw away several pairs of jeans with zipper defects (argh!!!) as I could not figure out how to replace them, I did cut off the legs to use for patching LOL. From now on I will try your method to replace those zips! These days who has money to throw anything away?!
Thank you so much. I had a pair of jeans that I loved and the zipper broke in them. They've been sitting on my bedroom floor for months. Today, I finally worked up the courage to try it. I watched your video and felt confident enough to do it. I followed your technique and it turned out beautifully.
Oh wow! I’ve replaced several jeans zippers, but your method is so good! And, you make it look a lot easier than the way I’ve done it. Going to try your way with the zipper I’m replacing today! Thanks so much! 🎉
Thank you! My zipper came with instructions to match up the top and cut the bottom, and you're right everything you did is the opposite of what I had learned so I just trusted your process. It worked beautifully! I am so happy with how it turned out you are amazing.
Thank you so much! I have never replaced a zipper in jeans (or any pants for that matter) but this instruction made it super easy. Well maybe not super easy but that is not due to the instruction:)
Very nice. Thank you for this video. I'm going to "try" to sew my first zipper replacement on a pair of camo pants and this video should help. Wish me luck!
I do it that way (sounds like the Backstreet Boys song lol ) I have tried the double thread from one of your previous videos…one of my fav tips from you! Have a great grand and groovy day 😉
I use a lint roller to grab those threads after seam ripping- just roll along both sides of the fabric. it does an awesome FAST job, lol- only leaves a couple of the more stubborn threads. Mind the fabric so you don’t accidentally ruin the seam allowance or fray your project.
Just saw your poncho video. I was wondering if you might show us some of your own personal ones you made and jackets also. Winter is setting in and you are very inspiring. Even if you can not, thank you very kindly. I appreciate your channel! :)
Well I will give this ago as a friend has asked can I put a zip in an i said I’d give it a go but as usual I always go to RUclips to get Better ideas on how to do this and I think your video will be helpful. Will message back when I have completed this at the moment. I’m waiting for the threads to come from Amazon.
Gave it a go putting the zip in after waiting a while for the top stitch thread to come to do the job followed your way how to do it but I did buy the correct length of zip so as not to cut it the way you did in the video it was perfect and my freind was really pleased with it thanks for the help and tips on your channel 👍🤭
Your videos are so easy to follow. I know where to go if I need help with zippers-thank you 💕💃🏻 By chance DTT, have you transformed any sweatshirts into open/cardigan style? I’ve tried, but comes out not so good 😊
You are clearly very knowledgeable and the result was very good. I was a bit disappointed that you went so quickly and with not enough close ups so I couldn’t follow myself 😢
Aida, love this tutorial. I just got a juki DL 8100. I have a question so I thread one spool on each side of the thread stand and pull them together after or do they need to be together from the very top like in your maternity tutorial? I hope you can understand my question. 😆
Hi Norma! I understand. When I have two spools 🧵 I place them separated. I only do it as the maternity video if the second thread is in a bobbin. Very often the thread on a bobbin get entangled with the holder as the bobbin is so low and small. Cheers 🥰
Hi thank you so much for this video! I made a pair of jeans and my zipper pull came out 😢 so now I feel better about replacing it. This might be obvious to more experienced sewers but I see that you didn’t put a zipper stop 🤯 left the teeth super close to the seam and then enclosed them in the waistband, does this prevent the pull from coming out ???? Thanks a bunch. Great video!
I've never replaced a zipper and now it looks like I never will 😂. My beginner sowing skills will never grow to this level. Looks like I need to take them to a tailor after all. Darn!

Agreed!
Nicely done. Love your recommendation about mixing different color threads to match the existing thread.
Thank you Marti!!
