Dude on Friday I was out riding my KDX 200 Alone about 3 miles out. The bike just dies and I look down and it’s pouring gas. I shut it off used a zip tie to hold the pin in and headed back. This is the first video I watched explaining the problem and solution. Thanks man.
Thanks! I plan to do an update to this soon as I have encountered some unintended consequences from using this particular Yamaha petcock due to the horizontal fuel outlet. I think the petcock from the YZ250X (part# BF1-24500-00-00), which has the straight down fuel outlet, is a much better solution.
That's good! The big problem with the KDX200/220 petcock is that the fuel hose barb is just pushed in (ie; friction fit) and it pops out a few times it will happen more frequently/
I actually like it. I do some rides way out where I can be an hour ride from where I staged. Having that much fuel left lets me know I have plenty to get back to my truck. BTW, haven't needed to use reserve since the swap.
The E series uses basically the same petcock as the later models so I know it will bolt on. Personally, I think I found a better alternative (YZ250X petcock) as the fuel outlet faces straight down but haven't tried it yet.
Excellent VIDEO!! Thank you so much!! I so much appreciate that people take the time to put videos like this on RUclips! Thank you!
I'm glad you liked it! Thanks for watching!

I rebuilt mine from the 93 250 and have no problems.

Finally a great alternative! Thanks!
Thanks brother!
I would have cut that tall inlet down a bit so it doesn’t need to go to reserve so quick

Thanks for the recoomendation..
I have since learned that the petcock off of a 2016 or newer YZ250X will fit better!
@@WildAzzRacing Thanks I'll go for that one.
@@WildAzzRacing Are you talking about this part number? BF1-24500-00-00. That's what Partszilla shows. Thanks for all your help.
Awesome! Wonder how it will fit on an “E” model?

@@WildAzzRacing ok thanks!
@@WildAzzRacing I went with the yz250x petcock, works perfectly, plenty of clearance.
@@Im_DR.D Thank you for sharing that! That is the go to for this fix now.
2016+ YZ250X/YZ125X/ petcock part # is BF1-24500-00-00 - also spec for 1994-1997 WR250Z (per Partzilla cross reference)
