My late Dad was one of the TOSA SA members who helped modify the theatre, and install and maintain the Wurlitzer 4/29 from the 1970s onwards. He was a passionate theatre organ hobbyist and home movie cameraman, so contributed a little of the footage. He does briefly appear in this film at certain points, working and enjoying the adventure. He never missed an opportunity to update his family or friends about the Capri Theatre. It is wonderful to have this high quality visual record of the project that occupied so much of his time and affection for half of his lifetime.
Loved this story, i lived diagonally opposite the Capri from 98 to 01 and went many many times for a movie and recital. Such fascinating history so very well presented. Thank you for all the hard work done on and given to the restoration.
Thank you, TOSA, for publishing this video to RUclips, electronically. From 25 years ago, I have this on VHS. I especially always liked Chris McPhee's opening piece. The song is a Hawaiian novelty titled: "Kalua" or "KA LU A". Nice to hear that track again.
Hello from South Africa. Wonderful documentary, filming and artists. The restoration crew are outstanding. I will search for other recordings. Regrettably I cannot come to hear the culmination of your labours "performing live".
Wow! What an astonishing accomplishment. Would that I were closer and able to visit, see and hear this beauty. But alas, Huntsville Alabama is a *very* long way off.
What a gem to see..found this by accident on RUclips. Wonderful sound quality. Reminds me of the sound of the theater organ in the great casino theater on Catalina Island, CA USA/ Greeting from Indiana USA.
Thank you for your comments on the video. Much appreciated. Please contact the Capri General Manager via the Capri.org.au web site and ask him to pass on your email details to me. Wayne
Thank you all for this. I lived across the road from the Capri Theatre in the late 1980's and went to hear (and see) some free organ concerts there. The theatre organ was a new and magical thing for me then, and to hear the music start and see the console rise up, and the mechanical accompaniment behind the windows ........ just marvellous. So wonderful to find the full story of this instrument in 2022. All hail the King of Instruments, especially the ancient ones - ruclips.net/video/f_g44OM1GZs/видео.html.

Oh! I had forgotten at the end of the film "At the Codfish Ball". Chris plays superbly such novelty tunes.
Wonderful presentation. Thank you.
Amazing instrument and documentary. Thanks from UK.

Great production and loved hearing the history of the organ and cinema that I love. My piano teacher, Mr Geoff Smith, was first TOSA president.
LOVED the cod fish ball!
