Great watch, a pity the lungs are so long. Maybe a 38-39mm options would have been ideal. Tried it on hand and for 17cm (same/similar to you) it felt big. Love the design and still thinking to pull the trigger as I found one on the domestic market. Great video nevertheless.
Beautiful watch,, looking great on that brown leather strap,, I'm liking Hamilton watches more and more, these days,!! Hope your "friends" didn't mind me correcting their use of the term "deployment",, I see they've corrected it now on their website,,, lol.... Keep up the good work Andrei,, stay safe my friend,,,
Thanks John! haha, no worries, My guess is that the correction was welcomed :) Love Hammi yes, they offer excellent quality for the price and products without defects, matter to me :D Stay safe, Andrei.
Why wasn't the dial labeled "Hamilton Automatic" on top, and "Chrono-matic" below like the original? Or "Intra-matic" like the other Intra-matic line watches?
Again a very nice video! Love the jokes you incorporate, such as the watch falling and the ending 😂🙌 The watch really has its merits, but in the end, I prefer more simple beaters, in particular Dive watches 🌊 But I love the variation, and look forward to the next Brave Beater! 💪
haha thanks! It was ''an accident'' under the camera so I said its worth to add it into the video. Thanks Peter! the next one will be a diver on the channel, quite a hyped one. :D
Great great review. Do you think it will look too big on a 6,5” wrist? Keep going back and forth on this. I love hamiltons. Got the murph 38 and khaki auto 38
I had it and it’s so top heavy, moved it on. Nice history, little debatable about the first automatic chronograph (Seiko had models in the hands of the public in late ‘68, a few months before the Swiss models hit the market)
i was looking for a bit smaller and cheaper alternative to this, and found a merkur pierre paulin chrono. i know it is a chinese watch, and an "homage" watch that many of us hate. i wasn't super sure if i needed a panda chrono, to be fair im still not sure. i love that it has this very design but with a 38mm diameter, that is just perfect for my wrist. i quite like the thickness of it, it's a bit over 14mm, and it has a display caseblack showing the seagull st1901 hand wound column wheel chrono movement. it definitely is a nice watch, however im not sure i will keep it. a panda chrono is a nice look, but i just don't usually feel like wearing a delicate watch like that with a 30m water resistance. id sure as hell be wearing a Rolex Daytona but i unfortunately cannot afford one :D for now im keeping the panda, but not sure for how long... with this pandemic i feel like i just want to wear a nice vintage diver or my casio ae1200 and that's it. suits my comfy home clothing, but if i have my black jeans and a leather jacket on to drop by to a deli its still suiting my attire.
ha, great assessment Csaba, indeed that is actually a good subject for an episode, what watches would you wear in this pandemic situation, working mostly remote. what are the most comfy options. this is the reason why i chose a practical lineup of watches to collect and lesser dressy pieces. anyway on the afoordable panda side, i think Dan Henry is a great option as well.
This is why I chose the hand wind Chrono H version. The sheer size and weight distribution of the watch just didn’t seem to match. The hand wound version feels good ergonomically and looks amazing. My only gripe is the awful faux patina lume.
@@BraveBeaters There are photos of this watch on google, including a pic of the movement. It's a beauty! There's a lot of uninformed comment on the first chronomatic, most of it fuelled by the other players in the plot (except Seiko who have always remained aloof on this matter). Most experts agree that the Seiko 6139 appeared in shops (in Japan) at least a couple of weeks before the consortium movement. How Zenith have got away with their claims for El Primero is a mystery known only to their lawyers. It must be on a technicality as it wasn't the first prototype (see Lemania) and it certainly wasn't the first to market. So figure it out.
Nice one Andrei! I had no idea that Hamilton/Buren were part of the conglomerate behind the Chronomatic/Calibre 11 development. So no idea that the Intramatic was amongst the 1st auto chronographs. The Monaco always steals that thunder... I'm a big fan of this piece; not fond of effect the blue AR coating has on the dial though... To my eye it detracts from the punch of contrast that I love so much on a Panda dial. Those proportions though? 40mm X 49mm? Perfect. And in my experience it wears beautifully.... but, unfortunately, I don't own one. 🤷♂️ I do have ST19 powered Panda chronograph that I really enjoy. Similar looking to this piece - but the ST19 mov't is pretty rough!, especially in comparison to the Valjoux. Still: the Hammy is a frickin' bargain all things considered. Cheers mate. Loved the preview card with 2 'Racoons'! A.
:D thanks Anthony! I think the blue Ar, indeed its to much, it steals the beauty of the cream- black contrast of this Bicompax Hammy. Yes, I thought this is a beautiful watch, a lot of people appreciate it. still, a bit too unreachable for the price.
hi, this is the strap, sorry for the delay: 7friendsandwatches.com/p/watch-strap-natural-leather-and-silicone-light-brown-slim-bamboo/ you also have 10% off if you input bravebeaters in the coupon area.
Fantastic video. Your filming of watches is the best on RUclips in my opinion. If you could only choose one, would it be this or the Certina Heritage Chronograph? Breitling make some lovely chronos but they are £6,000, although come with the new movement.
haha, thanks James. appreciate it :) I think I would choose the DS Chronograph, it feels more ''special'' and the details are very well made. as for Brietling, oh yes, I love that Deus Top time :)
Stunning! I wear a Khaki X Wind automatic chronograph as my daily beater (or my Sumo) & it's chunkier than this is, consequently its always getting bashed on doorframes etc, but it hasn't missed a beat & is easily my most accurate watch- so, in other words just coz your Hamilton is a very pretty watch don't be fooled into thinking its a delicate piece! Rock solid, pretty, historic and accurate - definitely a worthy Brave Beater. 👍🏻👍🏻 Beautiful vide as always, cheers 🥃
Thanks Steve, I agree, I had a few hammies, they have excellent movements inside, solid and very well made. I am pretty pleased with the brand :) I do regret that I sold my Ventura 80.
doesn't look fat on your wrist, at all. since the bowl-back case back sits down in the wrist a little, it looks like a lot less of it is actually visible on you, and doesn't stick out any more than a Rolex Datejust, say. But if you think it's fat, it is fat!
I like your choice of strap for this watch and plan to buy it too. I wonder how long you have this strap for and with daily wear how good it is holding. Also, would like to hear your opinion if you had an experience with Hamilton mesh bracelet.
That is a strap from 7friends & watches, the bamboo on 20 mm. that is a full grain strap that gains patina. I still have it and wear it. and in general it works very well with vintage inspired watches, just like the Hami panda. I also tried it on a mesh, but It felt a bit too dressy, and I personally prefer a patina strap
yes, I can imagine if you've got skinny pencil wrists, all of 14mm will be just too much to handle. Swatch sells some 10mm thin ones that would be better maybe?
@@Genegenedtb Does it? I'm really interested in this watch and I like the size generally - but I'm just a little concerned whether or not it will wear comfortably under a dress shirt sleeve at the office.

How is the movement performance overall?
The first chronomatic was made by Lemania in 1947. They took it to Omega who said there was no market for it and turned it down.
Great info, thanks Michael :)
