While it's a great line it's not original to this film. The earliest source I can find for it online is from someone called Franklin Ginn in 2017, but I'm nearly sure I read it earlier than that, maybe in an essay by Hannah Black or smthng? Anyway it seems to be a twist on William Gibson's similar formulation on the future. Funnily enough it's kinda similar to the "easier to imagine..." line they use later in the film. It's so concise and apt that it proliferates wildly and becomes unattributable, like a proverb. (Btw I'm not trying to have a clever-clever pop at yourself or Darling or the film or anything here, I think it's great. Just also enjoy thinking about how these chunks of language distribute and get reused and resignified like the piles of trash in the flick.)
@@danieltuomey4859 No, I get it. The idea of communication through speech is already profound. Moments like this just make your mind go kablooey.🤯 And then there are emojis that just ruin everything.
I know the view count on such amazing vids is painful to look at, but it's such a powerful feeling of exclusivity for ones who watched. High quality video is made just for 10000 people, and I'm one of them. Thank you so much
William Gibson said the future is already here is just unevenly distributed.. And others such as Mark Fisher said the apocalypse is already here ... etc.. too in the work Vanishing Land .. and yes it is !
"The apocalypse is already here; it's just unevenly distributed." Most profound thing I've heard anyone say in awhile.
Came here to say the same thing!

Well said! Same.
It's wonderful! I've watched it several times
💩
Throughout, Jesse Darling's images and thoughts are inspired and deeply felt.
Darling's the 21st C jesus. let's listen to this guy more. he is a light of rationality in the darkness that blinds us all

This is special. So wise. Heartbreaking but not entirely hopeless. Thanks Jesse.
Pretentious drivel
