The fact is Walter Mondale cracked a smile and laughed at Ronald Reagan’s joke. At that very moment, he realized he was facing a strong opponent.
Apparently Mondale later admitted that as soon as Reagan made that line he knew he lost the election.
Imagine if Clinton could come up with clever responses instead of opening a pickle jar, declaring war on a cartoon frog, and relying on the media to protect her from everything.
No one really thought they needed a clever response when there up against Trump.He was humiliating himself with all the trash coming out of his mouth.I’m surprised Joe Biden was the only person to tell him to SHUT UP!
All the news media did was use that trash for content.And Hillary,well she got the popular vote.So who’s laughing now.No one,no one is laughing.we’re in a pandemic with a president who doesn’t care for actual solutions.

Joe Biden did not shut anybody up. He got the same media protection that Clinton got.
And look at the price that America has to pay now for such poor leadership. No matter how much you dislike Trump he did not make a mess of the white house like Biden did.
Even Hillary who lost would not make those mistakes. A weak media that is about propaganda creates weak leaders.

He reduced poverty rates. Why do you keep looking at the one percent top. Yes, it's true, wealth inequality increased under is terms, but the important thing to look at is that the wages of an average worker and real median income greatly rose under Reagan when it was stagnant before him. It's just that the richest people also got their wealth increased. What exactly is the problem, if everyone's wealth increases, huh? Everyone's happier.
I'm glad we had a president who could speak his mind.

To be fair, he also brought the country into greater prosperity in the 80s than it had experienced under Carter, and is the single greatest reason for the dissolution of the Soviet Union, who simply couldn't compete with the US on military spending. As for the Mujahadin, it's hard to blame him for that. He had no way of a knowing that they'd turn on us, and the challange of his day was stopping the communist threat.

Had he given his farewell address before a live audience, he'd be hearing another, "Four more years." To which, he might say, "I can't do that," or "Yes, four more years for George!"

You know, even if Reagan was beginning to show age and had a lousy debate that night - even without a big rebound the next debate, he might have won reelection by the skin of his teeth. For one, most of America still strongly approved of Reagan's leadership and Mondale was running to undo it all. On the other hand, should something actually happen to Reagan, they had a strong backup in Bush.
I’m 21 years old I voted for Joe Biden and I’ve been a Democrat supporter. Since i was eligible to vote. I didn’t like Donald Trump’s ideas even tho some were good but the majority of his ideas pretty off. George W. Bush, well, not so good as well. I was a child at the time of his presidency but there were a few things I didn’t like which was because 1, the invasion of Iraq was a bad move and 2, his policies that led to the 2008 economic crisis. But for Ronald Reagan I give him a 95% rating

Too bad you are uneducated or you would know the 1975 Supreme Court case 'O Connell v Donaldson ruled that patients could opt out being held in mental hospitals. This ruling began the modern scourge of homelessness and was years before Reagan took office.
