I have wanted to make one of these since I was a child and thanks to your video I know I can now. Excellent video the history behind the helmet was awesome. Can't wait to check out the rest of your videos
Something that looked really simply is really intricate how was made. As George Lucas once said about Star Wars.....they're timeless. That's what this Scout Biker is.
@Bubo25 NOOOOO! When youve got an original piece like this that was actually used in the movie (and actually damaged during the making like the lens) you dont touch anything as it would reduce its value
Its funny. Although it looks cool its completely impractical for the proposed application as the aerodynamics are all wrong. If wearing this on a high speed bike the forward facing shield would generate lift that would try & lift the helmet off your head snapping your neck backwards, also you would have zero peripheral vision & would have to turn your head away from looking forward to see anything at your left or right side.
Lol. True i wear this when trooping. The peripheral is like horse blinders. I bump.into people from my side. Up and down is good but not if you were to actually bike as you said
It kinda would be weird to see their face they most likely used it for the actors when they weren't filming so they can breath and see easier without taking the costume off
37 years old helmet, Dayum
Great review. Always loved the design of this helmet - by the way, you have a very soothing voice :)
awesome! the scout trooper is my favorite imperial trooper.
How unexpectedly awesome, they showed how it was put together! Useful for anyone who's into making helmets.
Love it, terrific stuff, especially in including Stephen Lane's info in there, too. Cheers, Jez. Keep on making these great vids ... please.

I d kill to get my hands on one of them. love the ST armour
Thanks for the kind words guys - there's a photo video too on my site :)
Great video and a very warm reassuring voiceover... Made me think of Oliver Postgate! (Huge compliment... Though Bagpuss was not in Empire). BRAVO
Fantastic. Just Fantastic. Thanks so much for making these
@Bubo25 sorry you are incorrect. If damage was done during production (as was the case with this hellmet) then repair is a very bad idea financially.
Another great review Jez love the Richard Hammond tone to your voice ;-)
That little striped thing under the eyes is a mouth. You can never unsee it.

Thanks for sharing this! I enjoyed watching it. Very interesting!
I'm loving these videos!
Get a speeder bike frame too! XD
That would be awesome to see that, then a land speeder car down the motor way lol.
Scout troopers are way more cooler than stormtroopers
@toys210 Thanks - yes they are. I set up the new account (so the name matched my site) but realised that a lot of people didnt know it was there.....
I'm right with you on the Princess Leia costume!
Little did they know back then about the future
Scout troopers were my favorite costume in Star Wars aside from Boba Fett's Mandalorian armor.
Very nice video. Well done!!
Brilliant review mate
i want to turn my motorcycle helmet into one of these.
very informative vid, is this channel and the starwarshelmets utube channel the same?
Thank you so much for this vid!!!
they said that rogue one is coming out later that year when its 2010 its coming out in 2016
@BingoBongo275 Yeah, adding New Materials would REALLY bring down the price, WORST Idea if you wanted to Sell it down the road.
@toys210 yes - I decided to change the name but didnt want to lose the counts....
@10laughungtears Well this isnt mine (wish it was) but this particular one was purchased off a Lucasfilm employee
Interesting we never saw the visor hinged up off the face.
2019 anyone
2020 :)
@@henryhammarberg6070 cant believe its already been a year, I remember watching this video last year.
Actually I couldn't understand who designed them?

Where the heck did you get those mate? Very impressive. Cheers.

Is there any site u can buy the helmet and armor from that look and feel like the one they wear on the movie for not to much money
Any chance of putting prices that these were acquired for? I'd love to know what people paid for them. Thanks!!

was this used in the movie? like actually
They never flipped the face plate up in the movie that sucks.

Augs For President That would make sense
Why?
You cant get a good Star Wars Costume for less then 1000€/$ !
My Bikerscout Costume was more expensive than 1500 € :)

Starfortressproductions
stongist bounty hunter in the galaxy gets knocked into stralack pit by a blind man with a boat padel. really boba fett?
Why do you need to review the orignal helmets? Seems pointless.
Actually I couldn't understand who designed them?
