Great game. Regarding voice, I think text is great, maybe just edit voice in after the game because, like you said, it requires too much focus talking while playing.
Nice game. Round 7 was perfect. The only beef I have is with round 5. Mentat is a great action with Ilban, however it gave you a net worth of 1 card, which is about equivalent to 2 solari or 1 spice. So I don't think you ignoring all that spice - twice! - was the correct decision. Look at it this way: you grab either spice first, then you diplo into the top Emperor spot instead of the bottom one. You effectively switched from 1 mentat draw action to "get 2 extra troops, 3 extra solari (comparing to alternative bottom action) and 1 extra intrigue. You can mentat or high council next round. You compressed your Carthag action and added a bit on top of that, so you can do something else instead - or still go Carthag for even more troops and intrigue. Or maybe people still sleep on your mentat, which means free resources at no cost. Tessia player dropped the ball a bit imho.
Tessia player is rated quite high actually. I think mentat there didn't look good based on what I drew. But I did need it to setup for the eventual big shipping turn. Perhaps spice is right
@@cheesable Yeah, I've seen him in your games, I'm not saying he is bad in general, I just think he didn't navigate this particular game very well. Regardless, nice content, hope to play you at some point, once my ranked stops crashing.
Great game! It seems like base game / ix basic strategy is to rush Sword Master above all else? Are there other lines we can take i.e that doesn’t involve Sword Master?
It will come. My second game I did a full voice over. I realised when I talked and played, I played too slowly. Ai took over, dumped my intrigues, lost the game. So was planning to get more reps in before I can full commentate and play at a high level
Yeah, I agree with commenting in post. Your analysis is such high level, it's awesome. Currently, I have to pause/unpause to fully understand all your considerations. Going 1x speed with voice will appeal to a much bigger audience.
Regarding playing diplo instead of seek allies: I do agree its generally correct if you're getting early swordmaster, except when there's a good card in the imperium row. In this case if you played seek allies you would have been able to buy spice hunter round 1. I would argue having a spice hunter in your deck is better than having a seek allies in your deck.

I think it's okay now. I just needed to get used to the system and tbh a bit to ix as well
@@cheesable by the way regarding text to voice you can use 11 labs ;)
I did consider this
Man that conflict 6-7 planning really came out of nowhere. Not a lot of players will even know that move is possible.
Reasons why expedite is so powerful. But forward planning is really quite important. And quite easy to do in DID cause the ui is so clean

Actually swordmaster first is the 2nd best thing you can do. I'll have a strategy video up in two days about this!
@@cheesable awesome, looking forward to it!
Amazing game bro!
Thank you 👍 Have a soft spot for Ilban
This is great content, only thing that would be better would be with voice over instead of text. Keep it coming?
Thanks

@@cheesable yeah that sounds rough. And doing the voice over after as you edit the video is to much trouble?
I could comment it in post, it is an option. I'll consider it

How are you able to look up the elo/ranking of the players?
Manually

I rate spice hunters pretty poorly as a card. I don't think I'm missing out on much
@@cheesable Do you think that getting an early Liason would also be fine here? Just in terms of smoothing your early buys.
Not significant over having extra faction in deck
