    To purchase a Wetterlings Swedish Clearing Axe visit: www.canadianou...
    Correction: Wetterlings clearing axes come in three handle sizes: 20", 26" and 32". The 26" and 32" handle models sport offset blades (not 20" and 35" as mentioned in the vlog).

    The fact you put a disclaimer at the start of this video is utterly hilarious.

    Tim I used a version of this clearing axe in the Ontario Ranger program. We cleared a lot of canoe portages and Provincial Park lane edges, km's of them. No better tool for jobs like that.

      +Roger Pilkey - I completely concur : there's no better tool for clearing or maintaining portages.

    Just found your online store, and noticed the Gransfors Bruks forest ax, and will soon have to place my order! Great job on your business, and I look forward to dealing with you in the near future! Nice to see a Canadian business only 2 hours South of my location! Road trip will be a must now! Cheers!

    Sandvik - brand name - Bush Axe or Brush Axe. Love em! Wetterlings CLEARING AXE I am sure is great, too.
    I just want to know where I can find either in the U.S.A.. No one seems to carry them. Ace, Lowes, Home Depot, not even Harbor Freight (discount). Seems they need to be educated. This type of tool cuts and cuts, slicing right through small trees and thick brush. Used them for years, in the U.S.F.S..

    Thank you for the Review. We have 20 Archers in Mid-Michigan. We have been managing the Hardwood area and flat land to encourage a Whitetail herd. I have been looking for a Good low growth and sapling clearing tool. Clearing low growth and saplings 'actually' make the forest healthier.

    nice video. had never heard of this tool. Why is this type of blade better than just an axe or a machete? Why the bracket?

    • @ReasonAboveEverything
      @ReasonAboveEverything 2 года назад

      Thin blade with rigid frame and momentum of an axe. Billhook is not as thin, machete is not as rigid and axe has momentum but is too thick for smaller stuff. Of course every tool has its cons and the frame can get stuck.

    I'm glad you put in the disclaimer. Is see way too many videos where people chop down half the forest to show how to make a shelter or something. I assume they don't just use the dead stuff because it's harder and more difficult to work with. Btw, love those axes.

    They better have good patents for those or Fiskars is going to stick a composite handle on it and muscle them out of the market.

    What are the advantages of this over a cheap machete?

    • @volvo245
      @volvo245 6 лет назад +2

      badon more power, longer interval between sharpenings (double sided blade that is also much harder than any machete= keeps edge longer). Specialist tool for sure. Machetes and billyhooks are more versatile.

    Bullcrap initial disclaimer, because you CANNOT be too american nowadays... so you always have to say you respect everything and everyone and please dont sue me..

    • @TheCOEC
      @TheCOEC  9 лет назад +10

      +totilsom - the purpose of the disclaimer is not to dissuade people from suing, it's to dissuade people from chopping down live trees unless it's absolutely necessary. The clearing axe is a great tool, but shouldn't be used recklessly. The disclaimer tries to set a good example.
      I would hope that we are not too American, because we are in fact a Canadian company :)
