I know it has been a year since you did this video so I'm a little late to the show but I have done this in the past and one little tip that I can give you that makes an awesome awesome look is when you go to pour the clear resin after you have put the alcohol ink in Port from high above your item because when you pour up high it makes that resin fall to the bottom and make some gorgeous effects.
Mold release spray will make those pop right out so easily. I use stuff for candles from hobby lobby. Really night & day difference & it dont effect anything. Actually gives you higher gloss finish as it helps stop surface tension👍👍 give it a try sometime
This was a struggle for sure. There was another that gave me a hard time and wasn't sure if it was ever going to come out. It was a small wing ring dish. There was so much texture that it really had a hold of the resin. BUT I got it out. Giggle.
@@ClaraLawrence : you dont like using Mold Release the spray? i have to start using I damaged a mold it was a tiny area and this never happen B4, also thing the Resin just got to hot and fused, but I still don't fully understand about why resins fuse ? maybe the unequal epoxy resin ratios or things of that sort, I did see a reaction once I dropped umm that gold leaf thin foil yes it started to bubble like it was HOT🔥🔥🔥 an it was so why I mentioned the Mold Release and very nice pieces they turned out.,
I’ve discovered if u pour white mixed w resin over the alcohol ink! Makes a wicked effect!!! : ) your welcome! Pushes the alcohol all the way down! I jus use white acrylic paint to tint the resin! : )
Two of the first moulds I got were yours.. same trouble, same giggling and snorting and talking to myself:) it was so cool knowing I wasnt the only one... now I use a little soapy water, in a spray bottle to spray down the sides of the mould, it breaks the seal much easier, BUT beware of flying object, when the mould suddenly gives up its treasure:)
Thanks. That is good knowing someone out there was making all the weird faces and noises trying to get the buggers out! I will try the soapy water. Humm. I did have a skull launch out of a mold one time. Surprised me big time!
Hey. Loved this video. A tip I found from another company was when demolding, place some soapy water down the sides and it will help loosen up for easier release
A couple drops of Dish soap mixed with some water will help if you spray between the resin and the mold before you try to demold it. Or spray rubbing alcohol to help loosen mold from resin
Mold release stuff before you pour may help with that difficult demolding. Or so I've heard, I haven't really tried the one I bought yet. These look amazing though I can't wait to get something like these molds now. I did something similar with a coaster holder mold that turned out very cool too.
So thankful to see you struggle with the molds too. I thought I was doing it wrong or something. Lol. Some of them are just so hard to get off. This was a great experiment thanks
Thanks for watching my silly moment. I'm just happy I didn't launch it across the room. I have heard adding little soap and water when you are ready to pry them apart is helpful. Must try this some day.
Kind of reminds me of a wet one-piece swimsuit as a kid, you know what I mean. But thanks for doing this one because I just got some box and napkin molds, great starter for me after doing my countertops. Would resin release spray help?
Heya You see at the end after you used the skewer, the resin already had gone down some, which can happen when using alcohol ink. If that happens you can top it off with more resin. But if you don't want to do that you can top it off when it's more cured and then when the whole thing is fully cured you shouldn't have the issue with the sharp edges 😊
Cool video! What would happen if you start adding ink and pushing it down as you add layers instead of waiting for it thicken? I do like how these look clear at the top though.
Have you ever seen a project like making a sphere alcohol ink and after about 15 minutes both of my projects got really hot and it started to foam. Like a volcano
If the sphere is quite large and you pour resin in a deep and large quantity it will create a heat reaction. Make sure you get a casting resin and follow directions.
Art Coat has a long working time, best uv protection, scratch resistance and heat resistance up to 425 degrees. Casting Resin is designed to be poured in thicker amounts and has a degassing effect built in to reduce bubbles naturally. I do not know about the scratch or heat resistance of Stone Coat's casting resin. I chose Art Coat for this mold, because I had some already mixed up for multiple projects.
Maybe you can help me out. Im having trouble with my alcohol inks making spots of my castings soft in areas where the ink is heavy. Im preheating my molds and get perfect results otherwise. What i been doing is quarter filling the molds then slowly rotating to coat the walls then drip in 1 drop and swirl then pour more resin 1 more drop of ink swirl and top off. Seems i always get a soft spot no matter what i do🤦♂️.
It sounds like a pocket of alcohol ink preventing the resin to fully penetrate and having a soft spot. Also doing this technique in a thin layer will do the same. Add an extra layer of resin just colored or clear on top.
What a great Episode today! Those turned out beautiful! Thank you for sharing this with us. Sending positive vibes your way. Peace love dream's 🇨🇦! 💞🌐📷📽️⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐💯🌅🌍💙🌎💜🌏🌄🕊️💕🌌😉
I don't do big castings too often. When I do, I use a casting resin. They have build in degassing agents to help with bubbles. Also, you could pour in layers, spritz a little 91% alcohol then add more and repeat.
Next time try using your little bit of baby oil to help your silicone mold side off your resin projects after they have cured and then just warm water and soap will take the oil off of everything
I also wait between layers. This makes the colors more vibrant and separated.
I cut the bottom lip off the mold before even using it. It's game changer. Nice work!

Interesting. Might have to try this. Also, I just started doing videos again. In fact last week. Life happened big time.
so satisfying seeing you conquer those molds, then there the resin reactions....
Oh I had all the crazy faces of someone trying super hard to remove the lid from a stubborn jar and no-one around to help. I was determined though.
“How to wrestle with a mold gracefully on camera…” Instantly subscribed 😂

Happy to see someone else struggle removing stuff from molds! Great idea using inks. I'm gonna try it soon.

Thanks!!!!! Must give this a try. Might even try it in these same molds just to see. Excited!!!
Love the blue one
Very pretty! And I must say you're fun to watch
Thanks. I'm glad you liked the journey.
Explosions of colors luv watching alcohol inks in resin so cool and Clara wrestling a mold Priceless 👍🏼💜💕
Thanks. I was wondering if I was going to be able to get it off at all at one point. Giggle
This is one of the best experiments I have ever seen, awesome I love them!!!
Thanks. Watch out. These techniques are addicting. Fun, but addicting. Hee Hee
Gorgeous! I like the struggle too, you're human and makes us feel better 😉
Thanks. Giggle. That I am and make my fair share of mistakes.

You are so much fun to watch! I was laughing out loud with you.
“It’s like it’s aliveeee.” LMAO. Excellent video. Thank you.
I drip my ink in the little crack to get in bottom pour. Then do next layer with drips on the top and pour resin over that.
Way cool, once again!
Thanks, I appreciate that.
Amazing i love it
this is gorgeous - quick question, is the blanca blanca white like a "sinking white"
Hey. Loved this video. A tip I found from another company was when demolding, place some soapy water down the sides and it will help loosen up for easier release
Thanks. I've seen that and will be using that from here on. Lesson learned, funny but learned. Giggle
I could watch those resin reactions for days the way way all those colors churn and swirl!!! These are pretty and you won the battle!💖💕
Thanks. I know what you mean. The top can be fun to watch. Might have to do a video on just that one day and add it to my ASMR collection.
I love em. I will be sending you pics on Facebook of my ash molds.
Thanks. I would love to see them.
A couple drops of Dish soap mixed with some water will help if you spray between the resin and the mold before you try to demold it. Or spray rubbing alcohol to help loosen mold from resin
Thank you for the great tip. I got a lot after this video. Sometimes it's a good thing to struggle, you learn so much from the experience. Giggle.
So pretty and shiny! You are so cute with the giggling! Sorry the unveiling was so hard!
Thanks. I wanted to be cool, but at some point it turned into determination with this mold... and it seemed to be winning.
Squirt some watered down Laundry soap inside helps to make it slide out. BEAUTIFUL pieces
Helpful hint.. warm soapy water will help immensely. Let it sweet in water and using a pipette and pushing soapy water inside will help also.

You can get silicone spray to remove your work way easier
I found myself pulling and pushing right along with you. This is why o gave up on molding. No hand strength, but these turned out just great.
I know exactly what you mean. Isn't it funny when we do that. I was determined to get this out!
Wow, Clara! Amazing colors!! Hugs ~Cheryl
Thanks, I appreciate that.
Kind of reminds me of a wet one-piece swimsuit as a kid, you know what I mean. But thanks for doing this one because I just got some box and napkin molds, great starter for me after doing my countertops. Would resin release spray help?
Btw, I loved the tip with the swirling of the skewer, i had a muddy mess my first try, and the colours were gorgeous.
Thanks. I'm glad you liked it. Going to explore this some more.

Thanks. Good idea. Haven't done it like that before. Might be worth exploring.
Very nice 👌 I have these moulds but not used them yet!xx
Thanks. I had these too for a bit and decided what was I waiting for.
You need sinker white to drag the colours down
Fun! Except that part where you couldn't get the mold off! 🤪 Very pretty! 💖🥰💖
Thanks. Hey, I was determined. Giggle
very cool
Thanks, I appreciate that.
Very cool Clara!
Thanks so much. I bet it would look great in that mold.
Hi what is the white you are using? Is it just white alcohol ink?
Have you ever seen a project like making a sphere alcohol ink and after about 15 minutes both of my projects got really hot and it started to foam. Like a volcano
If the sphere is quite large and you pour resin in a deep and large quantity it will create a heat reaction. Make sure you get a casting resin and follow directions.
Just spray down in the mold with alcohol. Smoosh it around and it’ll pop right out
I think you wouldn’t have so much trouble demolding if you use the mold release. It really works well for me.
Whats the difference between art coat and casting resin please Clara?x
Art Coat has a long working time, best uv protection, scratch resistance and heat resistance up to 425 degrees. Casting Resin is designed to be poured in thicker amounts and has a degassing effect built in to reduce bubbles naturally. I do not know about the scratch or heat resistance of Stone Coat's casting resin. I chose Art Coat for this mold, because I had some already mixed up for multiple projects.
Try putting water in the mold to loosen it.
Maybe you can help me out. Im having trouble with my alcohol inks making spots of my castings soft in areas where the ink is heavy. Im preheating my molds and get perfect results otherwise.

Thanks, I appreciate that. Especially all the positive vibes.
Your accent sounds Kentucky. That's a compliment. I totally just lit my pour on fire tonight. Scary business! 😨🤣
How do you remove the bubbles from the jar moulds? I always end up with so many
I don't do big castings too often. When I do, I use a casting resin. They have build in degassing agents to help with bubbles. Also, you could pour in layers, spritz a little 91% alcohol then add more and repeat.
I had the same problem with the same mold today lol
Hopefully you didn't make the same faces I did getting it out of the mold.
I definitely did lol.
If you twist the inside it comes off better.
Baby powder!!
To help get the mold off?
If you put a little soapy water makes it easier to demold
If you drip water between mold and resin it is easier to demold.
These look pretty cool. I know your doing this in front of the camera, but the molds pop right off if you remove them with dish soap and warm water.
Giggle. I have heard so many great tips after this video. Sometimes you just have to learn the hard way right.
To break the seal
Is there a replacement for alcohol ink?
You might want to try dripping in resin with color pastes mixed in. But they will be more opaque in color.
You can use alcohol and it will break the seal
I heard Dawn, but not alcohol. Cool. Thanks for sharing.
anstrengend 😊 aber sehr schön 👌
Use a plastic thin plastic cake spreader
Good idea
Next time try using your little bit of baby oil to help your silicone mold side off your resin projects after they have cured and then just warm water and soap will take the oil off of everything
Use baby oil to remove
Or dawn
No cuss words were said and no molds were harmed in this video...lol
Ha! I did make some interesting faces though.
Where are the cells
This technique doesn't make cells, but dropplets and whispies.
WHY didn't you just put it under water with a little dish soap and it would have just slid out.
Yah, I should have. But I was determined. We all have those moments.
lmfao you should never put that much ink or in resin it well mess it up and make it not cure right
