Years ago, I saw Jewel play at Deer Valley, backed by the Utah Symphony Orchestra. She was wearing a pretty yellow dress. It was so damn awesome. This is a great song.
I remember seeing this live back the. It was one of my fav songs and the guitar player and his arrangements are beyond perfection. The guy can't be more cool than that... I think he played also with The Wallflowers years ago. Jewel was great as always. Great and unforgettable artist for sure.
I love the guitarist on this song. By which I mean the *song* not just this performance, though it might be same guy. It's fantastic. The main riff bounces along beautifully with Jewel as usual being brilliant. But the little *side* bits he does are just all great. Ask yourself. Imagine this song without those bits? Nope!
She's ... fantastic! Never saw this live version before. If only I owned a horse ranch in Alaska to attract her attention "*sigh*" Love her. It's not just lyrics/songs, she's brilliant live! :)
I love Jewel but the studio did a lot for her on this tune, pitch and depth. Nice performance, I would love to be there to have the volume and raw talent deliver
The older the better with Jewel I think. This one ruclips.net/video/e5Nf9s4azkU/видео.html is the oldest I've found and also easily the best, unfortunately not my favorite song at all. She doesn't care one bit about her facial expressions and the comments that would follow yet. She's there to sing. Full stop. That all changed and her vocals suffered very slightly. Please read "very slightly". But I notice it, the older the less she holds back. Less distractions too. Band, multiple camera's, lights all over the place. She became a brand rather than a singer in a sense. Totally love all of it but there's truth to it all. Unavoidable I would claim, truth nevertheless. What I would give to be back here: ruclips.net/video/KsXiOwIp23g/видео.html
Not a lot. She has difficulty here with the soft high notes but she certainly has depth, I love the cracks nearly at the same places as on the recording. She is also playing the guitar, so she is not holding those superlong steady notes, I would imagine they recorded this separately in the studio: guitar and vocals, so easier to focus on a perfect performance. After all, I don't necessarily go to live shows to hear a pitch perfect performance, but to experience the song live, filling the air, creating an atmosphere. Raw talent right there, she is amazing.
@Jewel Kilcher OMG..... Since I was like 17,18... When, "who will save your soul", from pieces of you, came out. You are awesome, thank you so much. Wow✌️🤙👍 made my day. I'm going to be walking around with a smile for like a week.... Jewel, left a totally heartfelt honesty good reply to my passive aggressive dumb comment. You totally kick butt. I'm honored and humbled, again thank you.😊
Jewel soo beautiful! Lucky cowboy, your husband Ty! RODEO a skill an most under rated sports! Girl God speaks thru your lips! A blessed an well earned talent! As a master cowboys wife, an the proud mother of 5 grown RODEO cowboys! Life is sweet! Just like your music! We love u! XOXOX
Not for the first time I'm watching this, but I just realised it must be about 25 years since I fell in luv with her. (Correct spelling, 90s style). Either I'm getting old or time is compressing :)
@Jewel Kilcher I've been a fan ever since my youngest son (he's autistic)picked standing still out of my playlist to put on repeat. About 6 years ago. When he had his graduation, Standing Still was the song that was played over his slide show. We still listen to it together. ❤️
I was considering getting a guitar a bit like that last year (like the new cheapish Gretsches) but read so much about the Bigsby style tremolos knocking the things out of tune. Maybe he has magic powers, he's doing vibrato there he COULD be doing with his left, but is using the whammy bigsby instead. He's a natural born risk taker! Reckless! Like the Bryan Adams album! I might still get one one day, when I have more space. And recklessness.
This song is so beautiful... does she even exist to this man, is he with her or is she standing alone wasting time as time goes by but in love with the idea of them being together,. Or is he just another stranger just around for a little bit n then passing on by while she’s in love delusion. I used to think it was about 2 lovers that used to love eachother and then he just moved on and practically ghosted her.
Just by the comments , Jewel doesn't like men? I don't follow all the Hollywood gossip but that would be a bummer. She is beautiful and talented unless some guy did her wrong .
I couldn't stand Jewel's stuff before this song but this is actually poetic and music-wise Dann Huff from 80s band Giant produced and recorded all the guitar tracks even the acoustics ... sorry if that throws a wrench in your Jewel worshiping
Can't believe I actually thought this was good music back in the day... used to like this album (especially Serve the Ego) and LOVED the first 2 albums, but when I listen to this now, I realise it's pieced together crappy folk-inspired pop; Atlantic surely pushed her in the wrong direction trying to sell more records.. Not until Picking Up The Pieces did she become herself as an artist, again... just my opinion
Great band.
Perfect sound. Her voice, yeah. The guitars are beyond SMOOTH!
She's so amazing..a real jewel. Love her
LOVE HER....WHAT A VOICE AND SHE'S BEAUTIFUL....!
Jewel,
I admire you SO MUCH! You don’t let life experiences dictate who you are. Thank you for sharing your beautiful soulful talent with us.🌹❤
Take me back to the 90’s
I love the raspy-ness in her voice on certain words/phrases, contrasted with the higher notes that she hits really well. So nice!
I love this song
One of my true loves.....¡¡¡¡ Thanks beautiful Jewel¡¡
Perfect voice with no auto tune or lip syncing 😌💜

She is a jewel in every way

I agree. That was the highlight.
What a great performance.
Wow. I have always been in to punk rock. She's an amazing performer-
Oh my,,,first time seeing this performance.
Always personal feel
Great
She's ... fantastic! Never saw this live version before.
If only I owned a horse ranch in Alaska to attract her attention "*sigh*"
Love her. It's not just lyrics/songs, she's brilliant live! :)
Lord, have mercy !! Old school, God dam . Hot as hell. Three hail Mary's and four our fathers 🙏

As her career progressed she had a tendency to slip into baby voice singing and pitchy delivery, unfortunately.
Not a lot. She has difficulty here with the soft high notes but she certainly has depth, I love the cracks nearly at the same places as on the recording. While the only thing you accomplished was eating three Big Macs at once
I hear this song every day at work.... It's actually not bad, good stuff....

@Jewel Kilcher OK?
No I don't have that app
@Jewel Kilcher I will try and get it.
@Jewel Kilcher ok
I downloaded it
Jewel is amazing but her band kicks ass in this clip, especially that guitar player and his sound.
Love this video music 🎶
beautyfullll
fantastic
Gorgeous Jewel! Much prefer her mature lyrics to Taylor swift's endless teenage whining
Perfect :)
Taylor who? That spoiled little brat couldn't even dream to reach Jewel's talent
well?
Taylor Swift couldn’t even carry Jewel’s guitar case. Stratospheres apart in talent.
Taylor Swift is middle age singing about tweens in middle school
💜
so nice
WOW!!
Class act!
jewel 😍
Always smooth Jewel
Her face.....sooooooooo beautiful!
2020! Still here :)

Back before award shows became all about thug culture and twerking.
Or naked people
Or political messages.
Lol. Horseshit.
was the supposed to be racist? you didnt have to use the term thug..
I could totally twerk to this
Nice chest
What a horrible backup singer. He ruins the chorus
The guitar gay make me sick
Que asco, pasan mas al guitarrista miserable que al verdadero arte 🤮
was that you
