City of the Dead - A Chinese Zombie Film (2013)

- It's an independent short zombie film shot by three Chinese Collage students. The story is about the zombie virus spread in Beijing and how three college students survival in this situation.
This no-budget short film was shot on a Canon 5DMark3&Red One&Sony FS-700.We utilized a crew of just three people throughout the entire production. After 4 months of hard work, the film is finally complete. We are looking forward to keep develping it to TV&Web Seires or feature length film.

What? I didn't even know or notice they were students. Well...they do at least need to improve on some people running because they seem like jogging instead of running for their lives. And those candles? It's clear that it was planned not like in reality, people would probably use their phones or flashlights than candles like those that usually is used for romantic scenes or other stuff. You don't usually use it in dorms. I can say coz I'm one and we use emergency lights which I didn't even notice all the time.

I did say I didn't notice they were students. I did point out a few parts that might need improvement but I see them as good actors. Like I said I didn't notice they were students. And again, they are good actors and also their effects are really good

Those awesome special effects. I mean the use of that shaky cam was spectacular. The original content and music, just WoW. So very very good.

This was great. Oh no wait, this was awesome..I'm very impressed to say in the least that students made this..It got a rise out of me a few times like a good zombie movie would, and also I'm glad you used the music from 28 Days later, it made the feel of the theme hit home..Love how you worked the sound etc as well as the making the zombies look authentic..Well done..I would love to see more of what you can do..Good work
An excellent film with little to no-budget. Very gripping and well-acted. These college students MUST go into filming and best wishes for terrific talent! I was drawn in from the beginning...
Watched this when they first released it, brilliant. Just watched again after almost 6 years. Wish they had made a sequel or series of it.
Certainly one of the best zero budget films I've seen.

Great little flick all things considered. My only complaint is the use of "28 days later" music. I notice it in a lot of "fan films" and I understand why people use it, its haunting and brings the right "feeling" into a scene but it always stands out to me and pulls me out of the experience of watching the current film. All that aside, Great work guys!

ok.........it was pretty good for college students or no wait ...... it's better than most of the so called good horror movies out there,I would love to watch part two.....I say continue to make movies I think you three will be hellafied and some of the best ( the potential is right there) I think a lot of the viewers didn't give it a chance because I didn't at first... plus I got mad cause the ending was so short after I had finally given in .......that's Hollywood!!!! ha!

Good thing about China: Lots of steel doors in Apartments and the building is made from concrete so the rooms are unbreakable to zombies.
Bad thing: Really high population and lack of weapons, especially firearms.

Just now seeing this 5 years later due to RUclips's lack of recommendation and I wish have had seen this sooner. 😑 But anyways, I love how 28 Days Later soundtrack was added. 6:26 🤗 Overall, the acting is right spot on and I'm very impressed this film was made by students! Great little movie guys (and girls) as good - or better - than some movies with an actual budget.
I would have loved to see that last shot where you zoom in on the door, with the door being smashed open instead, without seeing if it was zombies coming to eat them or soldiers coming to the rescue.

And they just might scare you!
