I grew up north of El Paso, TX. As young adults we used to go to Juarez for fun. This was before the cartel violence became so bad. It was also before 9/11. It was so easy to cross back and forth. It's a shame what has happened there in the last 15-20 years. Props to you Charlie for showing us what it's like today.
That was life! I wonder who decided to turn the border into a war zone and with what purpose, maybe they were jealous about the brotherhood both border towns ever had, you know, divide and conquer.....

Las calles sin pavimentar son peligrosas? No es cierto,el paso es más tranquilo que en juarez.,a juarez deportan a muchos que cometen crímenes y hay muchos malandros. Por eso no va la gente como antes..

I have been to Mexico many times and not once have I felt danger or had anyone mess with me. I feel safer in Mexico than I did when I was in Chicago. Walk around Chicago, New Orleans, Baltimore, New York, Philly, or San Francisco and a few other major cities in the US and post how safe you were. I have been to many cities in Mexico and Guadalajara is my favorite, but in all the places I visited I felt at ease and welcome. Respect the people and their culture and you will have no problems.
Mexico is extremely dangerous. There’s no way any of the cities you mention are worse than the border towns of Mexico simply due to the high levels of drug activities and cartels. Weren’t there hundreds of missing women in Juarez not long ago? I’m assuming it’s still the same. Mexico is unsafe for most Americans. It’s good you felt comfortable but most people need to avoid Juarez and Tijuana altogether.
I’ve grown up in south side Chicago and never had much of a problem. You can say the same thing. Be friendly with the locals and don’t get caught up in gang life and you’re fine. They don’t just go around shooting everything that moves for fun.

You contradicted yourself starting the comment and stating you live in Cd Juarez and then in El Paso, looks like you don’t even live in both; as if the USA 🇺🇸 was a safe heaven with all the mass shootings at schools, churches, malls or movie theaters. The people actually aren't as mean or rude as the people in the worst parts of US cities. The problem is the gov't and police don't have the kind of control like in the US and that's why drug Cartels, lawlessness etc exist. The other problem is the language barrier. Everyone speak Spanish and everything is written in Spanish and if something happens that would be a problem.

Based on my experiences entering Mexico via car to Juarez- at the crossing they have a system where a light flashes green and you can enter without being inspected for anything other than your ID documents if it flashes red then you are to pull over to the inspection area. Depending on the border guard they would be willing to take a little bribe to avoid the hassle of making you open your trunk and your luggage if you have any *wink wink*

I live in Juárez and these are not the most dangerous streets in the city. If you really want to go there, you should visit Riveras del Bravo in the southeasthern of the city. Those streets you were at, are only some abandoned houses by people that now lives in américa, but just that.
That now live in the USA
I have been to Mexico many times and not once have I felt danger or had anyone mess with me. I feel safer in Mexico than I did when I was in Chicago. Walk around Chicago, New Orleans, Baltimore, New York, Philly, or San Francisco and a few other major cities in the US and post how safe you were. I have been to many cities in Mexico and Guadalajara is my favorite, but in all the places I visited I felt at ease and welcome. Respect the people and their culture and you will have no problems.
My friend got killed in broad daylight there so your experience doesn't mean it's same for everyone
You should do Haiti, The Dominican Republic, or Jamaica next.

The people actually aren't as mean or rude as the people in the worst parts of US cities. The problem is the gov't and police don't have the kind of control like in the US and that's why drug Cartels, lawlessness etc exist. The other problem is the language barrier.
