    God, I actually hope this theory comes true. I HATE going clothes shopping, and every bit of men's clothing is neutral colors, blacks, jeans, and t shirts. Although, now that you mention it, I have noticed that the t-shirts have been getting more colorful. I've always envied ladies' fashion and its wide gamut of colors.

      Definitely yes, and also hopefully this can become true about some of the silhouettes (skirts, dresses, puffed shoulders) that seemingly only women have access to. I'm thinking of things such as medieval fantasy wizards that have access to a silhouette that is essentially a dress while still looking masculine.

    I would also like to point something I noticed as a social media user. It was a trend to dress in pink to go see the Barbie movie in theaters, and I did notice a large amount of men/boys participating. I remember talking with one of my male friends (16) who had gone to see it, and he told me it changed the way he thought about gender and masculinity. This movie had a huge cultural impact and im seeing a lot of positive change! :)

      @HeavyMetalMouse 9 месяцев назад +13

      That's the best part of the whole thing, I think - it's about empowerment and expression. Splash that suave dark purple vest into your 'boring black' suit because it's what speaks to you. Inject some bright greens into your classic Goth fashion to add a blaze of that personal touch. At the end of the day, the important thing is that you reasonably *can* reach deep into the well of expression for the colors that vibe with you, not that you necessarily 'have to' go nuts with them.

    • @dez9084
      @dez9084 9 месяцев назад +3

      @@HeavyMetalMouse This, absolutely. I love all-black outfits, but I always wondered if I was dressing too "plainly" and I think you just helped solve that for me. Texture with black helps to spruce it up a lot, but having a smaller part of the outfit have a pop of colour like you described for that "blaze of personal touch" is genius. Cons: Traps heat, weak to blunt force and attacks to the gaps for movement, and the slight extra-weight and minor hinderance to mobility -And if you chose to wear a helmet, Hindered visibility.
      -Side note: contrary to popular belief: Battle-grade Plate armor is not very heavy or restricting. The average Knight in full plate armor can do dark souls rolls and even mount horses without any assistance. The misconception comes from Jousting armor, which was made to protect the wearer at all costs, making it impractical for real battle.

I'm a T-shirt and jeans guy, but have been happy to see more colors emerging lately. It really does help you feel less static to have options.
    And, yeah, men's(wait. Should there really be an apostrophe in men's? That seems weird) fashion is fairly stale and lacks. We don't get enough cool patterns or colors. Weird Al has been stylin' for decades now as well, giving us many epic looks over his career.

    While I absolutely love the premise of the video and generally agree with the overall pattern it points out, I can't say, at least from my personal experience, that this era of men's fashion hasn't yet become mainstream. I've been seeing pastel or brighter colors on men's clothes in popular, mainstream fashion stores like H&M for years now; floral shirts and funky patterns in socks or sweaters, earrings, necklaces, even haircuts, like the wolf cut or the messy fringes showcased by many k-pop idols. But maybe I'm just influenced by my specific corner of the internet- I can't say I see most men out in the wild, especially in my southern european country, radiating Ken-ergy.
