These little creatures can make lots of damage in the garden. But they also have their role to play in our ecosystem, so here is a trap to capture them. #slugs #pests #gardening
Your voice and mannerisms are so calming and educational. I love to hear you teach us how to take care of plants. At the moment, I have indoor plants only and boy do I love taking care of them! Having a balcony on the 6th floor with a LOT of wind makes it difficult to keep plants alive outdoors. That doesn't stop me from learning from you tho. My favorite is "green love to you" 💕
I love that you release the slugs in the park .My neighbours think I'm crazy taking slugs and snails to the fields along the local canal but everything has a purpose and I'm told that some slugs eat other slugs
@@BerlinKittyI live on the ninth floor. I also get slugs from the potting soil, or plant starts. I'm getting nematodes In a few weeks to control the snails for next year... But tonight I'm just going to catch as many as I can.
Oh, no no no, no park for these critters xD Year after year they demolish a lot of my yield, even potato plants now. They are going right into compost to give back what they ate :P
"Little creatures" they're the size of dogs in my garden. They dont leave holes, they devour the whole plant overnight. Nematodes and I'm afraid, salt. Theyve completely wrecked my entire flower bed, i planted things they don't like, as well.

Thank you so much for these lovely uplifting words! Makes me super happy! Wish you to grow many cute plants on your balcony. Green Love to you! 💚
Can you fit a wind break to your balcony like the woven Reed garden screening or broken ikea bamboo blinds
Slugs stuffed with tomatoes and soaked in beer, sounds like an excellent recipe for a snack for friendly crows! :D
put them in the park huh lol ..... or wait til the camera is off and then squish!
Hahaha
LOL! Id take them to a park.

Chickens love slugs. Circle of life…. And you don’t need much beer. The bottom 10% of your glass or bottle dumped on a plate or bowl is fine.
Okay. That's nice you don't kill them with salt. I just wonder how they climb on your balcony?!
They also come from potting soil bags...
@@thefrenchiegardener True. I had two little green worms that ate my basil and mint - in the kitchen! 🤨
Can put salt in the beer trap too ;)

How often do you need to do this?
It depends. Just do it whenever slugs are causing too much damage to your plants.

Interesting! I’m in zone 9, los angeles, and slugs are never a problem here! Grasshoppers however eat everything! And raccoons!
Sløgs hide under mølch lol I love this guy's accent :D
Love it when said beer.
There is one or more inside my house , do you know how to trap them ?
Any substitute for beer?
Food scraps
More like put them in heaven! 😂
