This is a great intro to some ideas I can use, and well explained. I am very ignorant and have not worked with concrete before, so I was a little confused by some of it, but I bet I can use the calcium chlorate for laying a footing for a retaining wall, here in late November in Illinois. Also maybe the hot water, and adding more concrete to the mix. Thank you!
It’s that time of year again up here in Canada. We are planning a stamped concrete pour next week where temperatures are right around 32 F overnight. We are going to be building a tarp tent and heating it with an electric heater. How long should we keep the tent above freezing before removing the tent and cutting control joints?
We always recommend working with your local ready mix supplier and getting their input. In Ohio, we would normally say five days to a week for the conditions you are describing. Thanks for watching Evan!
Exactly what I needed , thanks a lot

How much calcium chloride do you add?
you would need at least .5% to make a difference and the max would be 2%
