the physical acting here is incredible! A lot of versions I've seen are just the guy standing in place, turning left or right as the song progresses. In your version, you clearly get a sense that Hyde terrifies Jekyll, and it is so cool!
this guy..... actually performs it almost the exact way i pictured the scene when listening to the song on its own..... i think this may be my favorite one so far!!!
FINALLY !!!! I can't believe it !!! FINALLY!!!!! After Anthony Warlow's awesome concept recording, I watched David Hasselhof's version, and multipile others. They were ALL HORRIBLE!!!! Really, really horrible!! FINALLY!!! Somebody was able to perform Jekyll and Hyde authentically!!! THANK YOU BRENT RAMIREZ!!!!! I loved the way Jekyll and Hyde were battling for the gun. I loved it!!!! Chapeau!
Maybe they all the professionals try to mimick David Hasselhoff? ( I'm so mad that there is only the visual recording of HIM. I hate his voice and his acting with all my heart) And the amateurs just try it differently?
I'm not sure why it is. It seems like this guy is taking inspiration from Warlow, which works really well. The other guy I saw took an original approach. If anything, it reminded me of Robert Cuccioli (if that's how you spell it), but he didn't sound like Kermit the Frog when he sang, so I liked him much better
And I don't think that Hasslehoff was to blame for the other bad actors, considering he was the last actor to play the role on Broadway before the revival (which I actually loved). The worst one in my opinion (Sebastian Bach) was the one who Hasslehoff actually replaced
I've seen this video countless times now, and watched lots (i mean, LOTS) of Jekyll and Hyde Confrontation performances. Most of them are just a guy flipping position and talking to air, having no breath by the end of the song. But THIS, THIS IS PERFECT. The context of the lab, Jekyll trying to grab the gun (while he sings 'I will never deserte you, I promise you this till the day that I die' he was trying to set himself free from both his promise and Hyde at the same time. Just wonderful) and his alterego taking back control to stop him from taking his life. The RIGHT HAND- LEFT HAND PLAY to tell us who is the one in charge, absolutly astonishing. And how could I forget Brent Ramirez remarcable singing, both good doctor and evil force separate and delightful. And he switches from one to other, aparently without effort. And he is also walking though the stage and FALLING TO THE GROUND. Well I'm sorry for the long text and my mistakes in english, but I really, really like this performance. I would love to see the whole show with this talented man playing J&H. Just happy to rewatch it.
Not to forget other symbolisms: the left hand sleeve, which represents Hyde, is covered with blood, while the right one isn't. And the lights, for godsake, THIS his Hyde, DARKNESS, not just hair covering the face.
I mean. Obviously this guy is better than Hasselhoff. But also. I like how it has actual acting and stuff in it. Like in Hasselhoff's version he's just standing there, arguing with himself. This is good
Best version of the Confrontation I have seen! As others are saying - reminds me of Anthony Warlow's version for the concept album. But absolutely brilliant in your own way! Bravo!
The way your voice echos in my headphones.. The Vibrato.. The ACTING.. The falsetto.. The CONTROL.. THE VOICE!!! Im going insane THIS. IS. THE. ONE. THAT. SETS. MY. EXPECTATIONS. FOR ALL OF JEKYLL AND HYDE CONFRONTATION COVERS. This is the best one of ALL. TIME!!!!!
Really well performed. I would have liked the director to have reined in the physicality a bit, and for the lighting to have been better, but you've got a great voice.
Sigue así ✨ Greetings from Peru! 💜💜💜
I watched 4 other versions of this song all that were on brodway and this is by far the best. The other four all did that wierd turning thing so it looked like they were looking at and fighting no one.
OMFG!!! 😍😍😍😍❤❤❤❤ ALL THE OTHERS I HAVE WATCHED ARE NOTHING COMPARED TO YOU!!!! JUST SAYING, YOUR VOICE KIND OF VIBRATED, BUT IT ADDED TO THE EFFECT!!!! 😄😄😄😄 I ACTUALLY HAD GOOSEBUMPS!!! HYDE'S VOICE WHEN HE SANG: "I LIVE INSIDE YOU FOREVER" I ACTUALLY SHIVERED SLIGHTLY!!!! 😂😂😂😘😘😘 PLEASE DO MORE, PLEASE?!!! 🙄🙄🙄
It was complately awesome. I loved it. It is amzing version of a man with a talent. Only thing that was a disturbance for me was that Hyde's voice sometimes had Jekyll's pitch
Roles this man needs to play: Jud in "Oklahoma!", Daddy Warbucks in "Annie", Pharoah in "Joseph", The Beast or Gaston in "Beauty and the Beast", and King Triton in "The Little Mermaid".
Truly awesome job. Also such a relief from the usual slighly cringy standing in opposite directions the whole song that so many adoptions seem to do for some reason. This is so much cooler!
Are dating anybody? I'm serious. Also, your performance of this song is the most breathtaking thing I've ever seen. No other recording on the Internet holds a candle.
Joseph Bromberg while I completely agree, you have to remember that Warlow recorded the two voices separately then they were played over the same track. However, on stage the actor must portray both voices back to back, which is difficult. So of course Warlow’s version will always sound better, but he had an advantage

I KNOW RIGHT?!!! IT'S SO FUCKING AMAZING!!! I LOVE IT!!! 😄😄😄❤❤❤

THE ACTING!
THE EMOTION!
THE TRANSFORMATIONS!
THE BREATH SUPPORT!
THE POWER!
Gosh. This is truly incredible

Outside of Warlow, I've only seen two other people do this role justice, this guy being one of them. Both of which were amateurs, strangely
Maybe they all the professionals try to mimick David Hasselhoff? ( I'm so mad that there is only the visual recording of HIM. I hate his voice and his acting with all my heart)

+Abby Is A Human tbh everyone is better than hoff... :D
I can't be the only one who likes Hasslehoff, right?
@@megasauruss Nope. Thought I was the only one too!
This is incredible! I love the struggle with the gun, and your singing is amazing!
You are gifted!
Your hyde voice gives me shivers!
Possibly one of the hardest musical theatre songs ever and you NAIL IT!!
This reminds me of Anthony Warlow's version of this song. You are awesome!
+DeAndrea A. (Q) WARLOW SUCKS
Shadow Strike this May be old but I will fight you rn
Best version of the Confrontation I have seen! As others are saying - reminds me of Anthony Warlow's version for the concept album. But absolutely brilliant in your own way! Bravo!
This is a really hard ,,duett,, for one and you managed it so well!!! BRAVO
Wow..... This is truly amazing....... Just.. Wow...
Wow!! Hard performance to pull off and you did it brilliantly! Well done
The vibrato and tone is 10/10
Probably the most satisfying "Confrontation" on stage
I wasn't too keen on your transformation/alive, but this is genuinely good. the physical changes are clear and distinct. I'm impressed.
You are amazing Brent truly amazing

I love this so much! This song gives me chills!
This is such a hard song and you did it really well. well done :)
This was gorgeous and beautifully acted!
I STILL CAN'T GET OVER HOW GREAT THIS IS!!!! 😄😄😄❤❤❤
This is... mind blowing ! wonderful !!
This version is so powerful!!!! The movement, Hyde's voice, emotions - stunning
I can't be the only one who acts this scene out in a mirror or so, right? 😅 I can't be!
You are certainly not the only one 😅
Really well performed. I would have liked the director to have reined in the physicality a bit, and for the lighting to have been better, but you've got a great voice.
That was so totally awesome.
Wonderful performance, Bravo xxx a young man with a bright future xx

Wow brilliant xxx performance is brilliant and credit to the producer xxx
So many chilllllllllls! Need a better microphone to capture that POWER! I’d love to see you as Phantom!
Best version I’ve seen!!!
I do love how even if he messed up the lyrics, if you didn't know the original song, you'd never notice at all!
I say "smol child" but Dr Jekyll is supposed to be like 50
Really? I thought Jekyll was in his thirties at least!
Well the book and musical are different Universe and I saw the completetis script and that says jekyll is 25
So........
ive watched this like 57 times today.....
I watched 4 other versions of this song all that were on brodway and this is by far the best. The other four all did that wierd turning thing so it

You're so amazing at this role.
is it weird i think your Jekyll is adorable?
Amazing!
It was complately awesome. I loved it. It is amzing version of a man with a talent. Only thing that was a disturbance for me was that Hyde's voice sometimes had Jekyll's pitch
Amazing job c:
Roles this man needs to play: Jud in "Oklahoma!", Daddy Warbucks in "Annie", Pharoah in "Joseph", The Beast or Gaston in "Beauty and the Beast", and King Triton in "The Little Mermaid".
Very interesting take. Well done. Lovely vibrato too :)
Truly awesome job. Also such a relief from the usual slighly cringy standing in opposite directions the whole song that so many adoptions seem to do for some reason. This is so much cooler!
Fucking chills bro, this is insanely good
GREAT JOB!!!!
HOLY FUCKING SHIT.

This is good but Warlow's version is flawless.

Oh my Goodness..
Wow this is amazing! I really wish you went for the high note at the end it would make it more dramatic
OMIGAWD
He's good, but he could've added a bit of emotion into his singing.
rumschreien kann ich auch

more bad than hasselhof
