This is my favorite performance of this song! You can actually feel the pain and desperation in the physical performance as well as the passionate vocals. Robert Cuccioli is definitely my favorite Jekyll/Hyde!
So great to see this. Watching Cuccioli do this role from second row center when I was 15 was an experience I will never forget. BTW, 6:26 is so cheesy but somehow so awesome at the same time, lol.
I was fortunate to be able to see Robert Cuccioli in Jekyll in either 1997 or 98. He is with out a doubt my all time favorite Jekyll. He is absolutely amazing singer!
@spotoftrouble well technically they look completely different, if you've read the book, hyde is very different from jekyll physically since they couldn't completely alter his appearance on stage thiley had to make do with the hair, change in voice, posture, etc :)
I think that's a pretty good illustration of why the Tonys should have split up the acting categories based on performances in new musicals and ones in revivals long ago. Bob was universally acclaimed as the best thing about Jekyll and Hyde, which was a show otherwise reviled by most theatre critics, and the guy who beat him was James Naughton in the much-better-received revival of Chicago, who was regarded as just one of the great things about a show that they all liked better. If there had been separate categories for Best Actor in a New Musical and Best Actor in a Revival of a Musical, they both might have won!
Now I understand why everyone hates Hasslehoff's performance!
THE DRAMATIC HAIR-FLIP
OH MY GOSH
I love him so much for that X)
Yes, the hair flip, I love it

Robert Cuccioli is absolutely GREAT!!! He would make and amazig Phantom of the Opera. Love this show, and he and Linda Eder were the best.

I'm not convinced that out of character he was just like "dammit get out of my face" lol

"Im afraid Dr. Jekyll isn't available. " - Hyde's freaking awesome. Why do bad guys have to be so awesome like him!? x.x

All these swift movements he makes is just insane, especially in Confrontation.
cuccioli's of THIS SONG convinced me he is the only one.
I finally found it - YES! This has to be one of my favourite scenes in the whole show. :')
I hope one day he can play Jekyll/Hyde again. I would love to see him :O
Thank you. You never cease to amaze!
I’m so in love with him
So much better than on the recording!
He won a Drama Desk Award, at least. He's excellent.

Robert is second only to Anthony Warlow in playing Dr. Jekyll and Mr. Hyde.
More please!
has it been the same Utterson through all the years on Broadway? Hes the same one as in hasselhoff version
.
How he did not win.the Tony.is a MYSTERY....
