- Let's look in on 3 geckos that most people NEVER see in the hobby.
Featuring Nephrurus levis levis, Pachydactylus rangei, and one of the rarest geckos in my collection, Chondrodactylus angulifer.
These geckos just are NOT kept by that many people. They do have some special care needs but are not super difficult.

You showcased the animals very well. Great camera work, nice clear close ups with good lighting. You're too modest. Freaking brilliant animals! Those metallic golden eyes are astonishing.
Hey Luke, thank you very much. I cannot wait to put some of these together this year for breeding.
I am so glad your past that tragedy that happened with the last group! I’m excited for you to breed them!
I am too. That was one of the toughest experiences in my gecko times.
These geckos are just beautiful.
Thank you very much
Got so sweet looking geckos always happy to see the geckos
Thank you Jay
Those Chondros are gorgeous. Thank you for sharing :)
Thank you Oscar. I find the video doesn't do them justice.
Man, I would just love to have more geckos. I just have two little mourning geckos but boy I'd love.... SO MANY KINDS OF GECKOS
Thanks a bunch!
I love when the bugs touch the Geckos feet and they are like" GET OFF ME" as they shake them off. Every once in a while Pumpkin will do that and the dubia will fly out of the cup. Then she ends up chasing it until she eats it😄 Pumpkin has gone from 15g to 31g since September. Thanks for all your great advice. The once a week dubias has done the trick! Great video Wally
15---> 31 g!!! WOW. Nice job.
Excellent Video Wally!!!
Thanks!
First again! Lol
By the way, this is the video I wanted to see. Love the uncommon and rare lizards
Thanks! I knew you would like this one ;)
@@SupremeGecko those levis levis are beautiful!
@@jpslizards Thank you very much
Nice Levis Levis! I'll be watching for babies lol but the one after them I noticed their back feet are on the wrong legs🤣🤣🤣 they look like the put their shoes on the wrong feet lol.
You know how much training I had to do with that one!!!! Hours and hours of time. Good gecko! Good gecko!
@@SupremeGecko 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣 I could imagine as I have 2 left feet myself 😉🤣🤣🤣
Adorable.
Amazing gecko species 🙌 definitely cool looking. Do you work with viper geckos at all?? Those are one of my bucket list geckos and I missed a couple chances I had to get some. Thanks for sharing them definitely love learning about new species. Hope you have a great day and wish you the best bud 🙋♂️✌️
Hi P&P, yes I do work with vipers. Very cute little gecko. I will be introducing my male and female in a couple weeks. Thank you for the kind words.
Very pretty geckos. Great video.
Thank you
Those are some beautiful animals!
Thank you very much.
What cool species...I wish I had space for a whole roomful of different geckos!
:) I keep struggling to find a balance. I want them all!!!
That is super exciting
Thank you!
Looking forward to these babies!
Me too. Oh those Chondro babies I can envision the cuteness factor now!
Wow great looking gecko
Thank you! Very exciting to work with these.
Such Beautiful Animals Wally I’m glad you have these Beauties in your care
Thank you FDT. Fingers crossed.
I love the two camera angles
Thanks. I would love to get a third from looking straight down.
Beautiful geckos! I love the N. levis. They're adorable. I look forward to seeing clutches from these guys too :)
Thank you so much. Very cool geckos!!! Fingers crossed.
Are we gonna get a full facility tour sometime Walley?
Maybe by end of year. I have so many projects that are in the works and I would rather show parts right now (the new metal racks- baby, small gecko, and now cave gecko). Thanks for asking and, keep asking please! It keeps me on task.
Truly awesome geckos Wally! Big goals for one day for sure!! Hoping to add hatching Coleonyx mitratus to my repertoire this season 🤞
Love the banded!!! I'm hoping for some babies this year too.
Awesome video Wally! Thanks for sharing everything about these geckos! I LOVE Australian geckos!! I really love knob tails and the barking geckos! If you had to recommend a starter Australian gecko species, which one would you recommend? I also really really love the spiny tails.
Thank you Liz. I appreciate that. And, I love them too. Starter knob tail? It would either be the Nephrurus wheeleri cinctus or the N. milii.
@@SupremeGecko Milii is definitely on my list!!
So cool! Beautiful color pattern
Thank you very much. I'm so lucky to work with these.
@@SupremeGecko blessed!
@@SusanforSLCAquatics Absolutely!
Amazing video! love to see the rarer species! also where do you get those mealworm dishes?
Thank you very much. I know I picked up mine years ago from Superior Supply. LLL has them too I believe.
@@SupremeGecko They do! Thanks a bunch.
@@Shadow9Gaurdian Cool! You will LOVE these dishes.
Thank you Wally they are beating.
Thank you Barb
::Screaming as soon as I see the thumbnail::: P Rangei!!! Best gecko ever!!! - I should update my profile photo.
:) I love them but those Chondros!!!
@@SupremeGecko those are really awesome too. Maybe I’ll have to get those too so I have all three. ;)
@@Jennifer-xg3ck :) We would be samies :)
wow those are so cool I love the tail action on the Levis Knobtail gecko lol ...! quick question where do you get the sand I like the look of that sand over the sand I use .. great video Wally keep up the amazing work I would love to see a more in-depth video on knob tail geckos if that is possible . Keep Up the great work.
Thanks Andrew. I pick it up at a local wholesaler. But you can get teh sand from Amazon. Also, play sand at any home improvement store.
@Supreme Gecko yeah but the play sand at the home improvement store don't look like that sand .is it just play sand ??
@@DEAexotics Yes, the P. rangei is play sand as I mentioned. I do sift it though.
@Supreme Gecko okay that makes a difference if you sift it ..I will start doing that
@@DEAexotics I HATE seeing larger pebbles in my sand. Makes me think I have 3 dozen eggs in there! :)
POINTS to anyone that knows what the marks on the side of the stand represent.
growth charts of kids?
Nailed it!!!!!

@@SupremeGecko awesome
What kind of sand is this, if I may ask? Just curious, if it’s anything special, or a specific calci-sand product?
Another question… sorry!! 🥴😅 I have a pair of African fat tails. Female only laid a few times; the eggs were either single & bad, or were crushed before I got to them. So, in your experience, do fat-tailed geckos like a more organic sort of soil? I’ve had them for over ten years, on sandy clay substrates. Specifically, pond plant substrate, from the nursery. It’s basically just organic clay, and since I’m not using it in a pond, it stays dry and firm. Forms a hard but permeable layer. Conducts heat nicely. And cools well. It responds well when I mist the tank, and dries perfectly with NO dust. Also no risk of impaction when feeding. Now I’m realizing fat tails aren’t entirely desert dwellers, lol.
This has been fine, for growing soft succulents.. But I’m thinking a richer, soft soil could provide that little boost of natural humidity, though… and be more close to “home”. After watching some Zilla videos on wild fat tails, I’m rethinking. It’d for sure be more for the plants’ benefit, as I use live plants in every tank, lol. I don’t know if mine necessarily burrow, they never have in my sight at least. They usually just sleep on top of each other…in their hide, on the heat pad, & that’s good enough.
Hey Erik, I use two types of sand. For most setups, I use a sifted play sand from a Home Improvement store. For knobtails, I use Repti-Sand. Love it.
"do fat-tailed geckos like a more organic sort of soil". I don't think the substrate matters much to them as long as it will maintain some humidity. More important is how you can maintain it. I like bio-active setups, so mixing peat with a dirt works well for me.
Hello! May I know at what temperature you incubate nephrurus levis levis eggs?
I incubate around 80-82
@@SupremeGecko Thank you, Kind Man
@@echidnaSnake always glad to help
I want to retire in a few years, I thought it would be nice to have some geckos I can sell on a very small scale. Can you tell me how to start?
Oh my! This is a very involved answer Ginny. Best to setup a half hour Buy Me a Coffee session with me as I am retired and did just this. ( www.buymeacoffee.com/SupremeGecko ) It will be WELL worth the time and small charge.
@@SupremeGecko ok sure sounds good. what state are u in?
@@ginny2071 Wisc. The coooold state of Wisc. :)
Why pure Sand? Do you care for all your animals on this one?
What do you mean do I care for all my animals on 'this one'?
@@SupremeGecko On pure sand
@@HKoch-ny3em My apologies, I am still not sure what you are asking. Would you mind rephrasing your question? Much appreciated.
@@SupremeGecko I mean, what is the reason, why do you hold the geckos on pure sand?
@@HKoch-ny3em This helps H. Koch. I still don't know what you mean by 'pure' sand vs. just regular sand. If you are asking why I keep these geckos over sand, it is because they are either found on sand, or they dig in sand, in nature. Does this help or am I still on the wrong path. Thanks for clarifying.
You showcased the animals very well. Great camera work, nice clear close ups with good lighting. You're too modest. Freaking brilliant animals! Those metallic golden eyes are astonishing.
