Here we strive to deliver qualified and professional security personnel that not only take themselves and security seriously, but more importantly the safety of clients.
We strongly believe that our employees contribute to the success and growth of our business. It is with this in mind that our recruitment and selection process is a rigorous and methodical one.
We follow a strict recruitment process consisting of various levels. Our process includes: pre-employment screening, aptitude tests, application forms, reference checks, fingerprints are taken to ensure the candidate does not have a criminal record, and pre-employment polygraph tests are also conducted. Successful candidates then may commence with the training courses.
We also offer work integrated learning opportunities.
During this learnership a security officer gets to work, earn a salary and get a NQF 3 qualification
Our training courses aim to bridge the gap between the theory they obtained during their security training courses and what is practically expected in the industry and on-site.
The secondary function of the training is to motivate and orientate the employees into the Phangela Culture. This, in turn, will contribute to the minimisation of staff turnover and customer satisfaction. Once “Phangelarized” our staff enjoy many benefits that are unique to Phangela Group.
At our main Security Training Centre, we provide PSIRA grade training, retail security training, general security training, customer care training, site-specific training and on-site inductions. During our training programs, we implement various teaching methods. We cater to all the learning sensories used, visual, auditory, kinaesthetic or tactile.
Combining our senses ensures that optimal learning can take place. In-class practicals include searching procedures, cancellation procedures, access control, perimeter patrol, conflict resolution, information processing and bloodhound system patrols. During training informal assessment is done through class tests, practicals and observation.
Every training day starts with an early morning PT session followed by porridge and coffee before the trainees move into our different lecture halls. We also provide our trainees with lunch.
The final day consists of various formal tests that assess the aptitude, knowledge and security acclimate of each individual officers. Only officers that have passed these tests successfully will receive contracts, uniforms and all the necessary document to be deployed to client’s premises.
Phangela Group, is committed to the continuous improvement of our personnel. Our mobile security training team visits our security officers on site to evaluate knowledge and procedure integration regularly.
Refresher training and new trend education are also conducted on-site.
