When looking at gpa, do universities only look at junior year? Sorry if this seems like a dumb question. I’m from another country so I don’t really know this

It's so refreshing to see videos with colleges like this. Every other college reaction they're like "Oh I got a full ride to Harvard? Eh that's alright I guess. Yea Columbia was my safety school. I got into UCLA? Well, that was just if I didn't get in anywhere else." Like it's refreshing to actually see someone with relatable grades.

My dream college is UCI, but I got waitlisted
I actually don't know of anyone that got rejected from UCI, so I think if you didn't get in, you are automatically on the waitlist

Everything happens for a reason so I hope everything goes well. If push comes to shove you could just transfer later on!
I got rejected sadly but they did waitlist quite a few people this year with academic caliber must higher than its usual expectation.
I go to uci! I got in last year. Uci is getting tougher to get into each year. If you didn’t get in, don’t be sad uci accepts transfers a lot!
I don't wanna sound negative, but I know several people who go to uci and if you're on the waitlist, there's a very low chance you'll get in. they've even rejected kids they've already accepted cause of too many acceptances.

Hi!! I’m also a senior right now but I just want to say I commend your bravery! It definitely hurts but you can always recover. I’m choosing to believe that I will go where I am meant to and I hope others do as well. The UCs this year were brutal trust me. I don’t know you but I am sure that your accomplishments are truly amazing and congratulations on all your acceptances!!! Love from one senior to another 💓

Dont feel discouraged on the rejection letters. You got in so many great schools! However, if you're still intrested in attending a UC, you should look into the community college route and then transferring. From what I heard, UC's accept transfer students over first time freshmen 😊 hope this information helps and good luck on your new journey!!

Could anyone explain the financing system in America? Here in the UK every single university costs 9K per year, but it is paid for by the government in the form of a loan. Once you earn over a certain amount you pay a tiny bit back every month. However, after 30 years the debt is completely wiped so realistically no one pays the full loan back. This way it means that everyone has the chance of experiencing higher education, no matter what their financial background is.
Emily - Im in Australia and we have a similar system over here. You start paying the loan back only when you are earning over $53,000 in wages and even then its only like 4% of your wage that goes towards it, small enough not to notice. Im aiming to start the Bachelors of Nursing at the start of next year and I'm looking at going on HECS (uni loan) which will come to roughly 25 grand total, for the 3 years. It amazes me how much it costs Americans to go to University.

Kaylee, you seem like a very bright young woman and I hope you don't let those few rejections define you. The UCs are really hard to get into and you still got into some really good schools, including Santa Cruz! So congrats on being awesome! :) if you go to santa cruz hmu cause I might be going there this fall

Its okay girl I got rejected from every single UC School lol...my first acceptance was my dream school in Portland Oregon but it was too expensive so I ended up at a CSU back in 2016 and I love it! At least you have lots of options to decide from!

I applied for two schools. Parsons school of design and University of the Arts London (London college of fashion) and parsons didn’t even review my application cause my high school equivalency wasn’t up to par with their standards (it didn’t have a science or history section, just math and reading.)
I got into UAL with no problems!! It was my top choice anyway, Parsons was my backup haha!! It’s cheaper AND I don’t have to share a bathroom at the dorms. So excited!! If you told me 5 years ago I was going to college let alone in LONDON?! I would’ve said you’re crazy.

Your attitude is so good! I'm sure you will find somewhere you love! I got into all the UCs but I go to Davis bc I love the vibe and the people here even if it is not the most "prestigious" out of all of them,, go wherever makes you happy! :)

In my opinion, I think any student should only be allowed to apply to ten colleges. Your acceptances are awesome news! But when someone applies to 17 schools and they are qualified and completely unsure of where they want to go, other students who only apply to a handful of school lose spots at their dream schools because of other people who get in but don't really intend on going there.

I went to a private school with a graduating class of 40. We were crazy competitive and half of my class could've gotten into literally any school they applied to. Most people applied to four, MAYBE five schools.... one guy applied to 14 and had to have a meeting with the college counselors where they literally told him he was overdoing it. Good for you for all the admissions, but to anyone out there who is feeling pressured, please know this is NOT THE NORM

Lollll as a BU CGS London student it’s not as bad as you think! I really enjoyed the experience and now I’m a rising junior and love the school. It comes with its pros and cons, but is definitely worth it and I have no regrets. Def consider it!

Watching these kinds of videos hits me with flashbacks when I was waiting for my acceptance/ reject emails.
I’m a middle schooler and since I’m in AVID we got to take a tour of OSU (Oregon State University) and to be honest it’s pretty great, now thinking of it, I might wanna apply in the future. And overall I think you should go there. The tuition is around 10k a year I think, but you can always apply for a scholarship.

What made you choose Chapman University over the others? How much in student loans do you have to get to go to Chapman? [even though you receive $25,000 in scholarship from them annually] Why not San Diego State University? It would seem SDSU would be the most affordable? Why not Mount Saint Mary's University? Did you get any scholarships from them to go there?

For your major, better take NYU or SDSU , don’t waste your time at UC schools just to brag or feel “smart” because of their acceptance rate. Those school are mainly focused on Ph.D level majors and you don’t really need a Ph.D for your major so that also means the school are not focused on putting their budget into your classes for your major

I had a plan to apply to as many schools as possible, even is my SAT/ACT or GPS scores did not comply. I just wanted to apply everywhere to see what I was capable of. I ended up only applying to one university, my dream school. However, I GOT IN!! In the end it paid off and I couldn’t be happier. I still wouldn’t suggest only applying to one school haha!

Don’t know you sis but I know your cool and smart. Good job not putting yourself down. You got this! College is all about growing and finding community. Please think about applying to a HBCU (historically black college) they can offer a lot of aid and diversity. Also look at schools that are welcoming and inclusive to your ethnic group! Some Public white schools that you applied for can be very unwelcoming in exclusive to minority groups! It’s way more then notrioty or the school and more about the connections, place, and environment of the school!
Tell your Mom London is just fine!😉 Big and busy but would be a good experience.
