- Hey y'all! Welcome to my college decisions reactions vid!
I keep it super real. I'm not a super special applicant (no I did not publish a book, start an NGO, or win state championships for tennis or something). :)

I am super grateful for all of my acceptances! This year was not easy, and I am glad the college application process is over. I am fortunate to have very understanding parents who have supported me throughout this process. They were proud of my accomplishments (no tiger parents here!).

I seriously have so much respect for how you handled all of your decision results. My college decisions did NOT go as planned. I got waitlisted from all UC's I thought for sure I had in the bag (UCSD, UCSB, and Davis) and rejected from my dream school (UCLA) and Berkeley. I had a really tough time grappling with all that, especially when people around me were getting in and committing and releasing decision reaction videos. I felt so hopeless and found it very hard to congratulate people on their successes because I felt like a failure. I got into BU too, which made me so excited, but they gave me no money and I just couldn't afford it. Depressed all over again lol. But seeing you so accepting of your rejections really made me feel like I'm not alone and have so much to look forward to! I got some amazing acceptances that I didn't fully appreciate until I actually had to consider them as real options, and I recently committed to University of San Diego! Thank you for being so real and posting your less favorable decisions on RUclips, because I know I'm not the only one who found it refreshing. You're going to comfort a LOT of people with this video. Congratulations on your amazing acceptances and I hope you love your next four years!

How did you not get ANY money from BU? Don't they meet 100% of demonstrated need?
Adrianna Durand no ma’am. all i got from them was 5K in LOANS, even after i tried to appeal the financial decision. which doesn’t even put a dent in the 75K per year i would’ve had to pay as an out of state student. i’m also taking the med school route so spending that much for undergraduate tuition was just out of the question for me, when i’ll be paying so much for med school in the future. i ended up getting off the Davis waitlist and now i’m studying there, paying an affordable amount and getting a great education! it all works out in the end :)

@Bin Dao cause you get anxious suddenly have a lots of doubts when it comes to important things. Even if your brain previously told you you'd be in for sure, when the time comes anxiety just create that kind of paranoïa where suddenly you would doubt even getting in your safety
Never lived that process tho since I'm french but that applies to a lot of moments in my life so I just guess it's similar
@Bin Dao its because they work their asses off for 4 years. and if they dont get accepted it is sad since they spent so much time and if they do get accepted its like a feeling of alleviation .

Congrats! "Don't take everything so personally" is really important advice. It all works out in the end as long as you work hard. UMD is amazing especially with that deal. LTU hopes to make it back to UMD soon!

Regarding the Pitt link - When they show you a video of the campus at the opening there’s a good chance you are in - the schools are not sadistic i.e. let’s show you some amazing photos of the school that rejected you - we want to rub it in.

Sometimes luck is the best thing that can happen to you, even though I know you worked really hard--and sometimes not getting what you want will pay you dividends in the future. You have all the right attitude about going to college and life in general. I feel like you will face so many ups and downs but it is what you do with it. Moreover, you have all the right attitude to become an MD--and thats comin from someone who's already in the healthcare field. Good luck goin forward! 😁

OK. I almost cried when you said you got accepted. I have to remind you I am an American Citizen, but when I heard your scores I knew for 100% you studied. I also had a 3.89/4.0 GPA and a 2080/2400 SAT (87% percentile) and a MATH and foreign language extra SAT score with both on the 780-790 or 800 out of the 800 scale. I just realized you actually scored higher than me. I have no idea how you studied, I got an interview from Princeton and then got accepted to BU. My hometown is from Bloomington indiana so I will probably go to BU it's been my life long dream. I never got into Harvard and Princeton was the only ivy league school that interviewed me because of my royal family, but I still got rejected in the end. I might go live in Boston, but thank you for sharing your story, I also got rejected from a lot of schools despite my grades.

Hey congrats!!! I have a quick question, how did you get the full academic ride? Was it all because of your PSAT score? Or was it your grades all together?
The full ride for UMD is called Banneker/Key, and it's based on teacher recs, grades, and SAT score. There's also a short interview! The Fordham full-tuition scholarship is based on PSAT because it's National Merit. When you're applying for college, just be sure to seek out these scholarships! And apply for all of them because you never know if you'll get it and it's free money. Hope I helped you! :)

There’s only two ways this can go well you can get a full ride scholarship at a state university and not have to be in debt or you can get in to the top colleges and have the name ?
