This is probably the MOST IMPORTANT lesson I've learned in Excel. I was struggling to the point of getting really upset. Your video has brought me back down to calm mode and am very happy. Thank you soooooo much!!!!!
This was the triumphant finish to understanding why I my ISBLANK formulas weren't working on data exported from Salesforce. And yes, the 'text to columns' hack is a great time saver. Very well presented - like a rockstar!
I had been grappling with a data issue for a whole week, struggling to understand the concept of empty text strings and their technical distinction from blank values. Your assistance not only solved the problem for me but also provided a clear and insightful explanation. Thank you so much !!!!
I had the same issue. After text-to-column procesedure with some data i copied. What worked for me was CTRL F, replace, then i entered one blank space with my space bar, and replaced that with nothing. It removed all those leading blanks that were being counted. So annoying, thanks for the video because it got my head in the right place

Thank you! Very clear! Easy solutions to the messed up blank cell!
Some cells came with a space and are easy to replace but the false blanks are really a pain...

Any way to have an IF() statement return a true blank instead of an empty text string? Without VBA?
