- Targeting Spotted Sea Trout at EG Simmons Park in Ruskin FL. Ended up catching a new species to me. Epic little fights with some Ladyfish. So called poor man's Tarpon.

I have fished that same spot. I caught several trout using Berkeley Rattle Shrimp.
Nice little spot you got there bro🙌🏾
I love that park. Caught my pb snook, 44", on a pinfish i caught there. My only complaint is the hours. Sunrise, no later.
@Grizzb0 and they open almost 2 hrs after sunrise
Gonna be in florida and fish at that park in 2 weeks i got a cervil jack on a gotcha plug last time i would like some sheepshead and other species any sugestions im visiting family and me and brother are going out
I've fished EG Simmons a bunch and only caught a ray one time. Nothing else
It has gotten a lot harder to catch big fish there since that bad red tide in 18 but I was there about 8 months ago and some kid pulled out a 25 inch trout. All hope isn’t lost. Are you using live bait?
@@joshthunt was using frozen shrimp. Went and ordered those zman lures from your video and plan to try them next time I have the opportunity to go there
Matt J if you can find live shrimp and a popper you can get on some trout. Try to keep the leader just long enough to stay out of the grass or the pin fish will rob you. Only frozen bait I really use is finger mullet. But I’m more of a artificial person just because I rarely have more then an hour or two to fish.
Using live shrimp. Fish the far shore on the road to panther point, skunks are rare. Good luck
Hey Where is that spot?
It’s kind of in the middle of the park. On the way to the boat ramps.
Is their snapper at eg Simmons ?
Mostly just the inshore big 3 trout, reds, and snook. You’ll also get sheepshead, lady fish, jack and mullet. Decent amount of blue crab in there too.
Caught 1 snapper at eg simmons once.
they have alot
