Too bad that this place now look more like Mexico Beach when I've filmed that couple of years ago ruclips.net/video/SsyKGPAypyw/видео.html
Hopefully the'll recover soon!
Turns out it was made out of garbage if the flooring was solid it would’ve all stayed down
I hope it will be reconstructed soon😢
Fort Myers Beach was one of the only beaches I went to for the past 15 years and it’s treated me so well. This hurt my heart so much. Even though I don’t live in Florida I would go here almost every year and made great memories. This beach will never be the same but hopefully they can start on the construction soon 😢
I sympathize with u.🙏😥
Brutal
me too😔
I would be extremely sad if this happend to the Death Star. My tears would be streaming down my helmet.
Sad to see such a beautiful place getting destroyed. My heart goes out to all the friends and families affected by this.
I wish you could take current drone footage and stitch it together for a real comparison of before and after.
If your drone software logs it’s path maybe you can do it again. With a nice piano and dubstep style music would go well to emphasize the contrast.
This video reminds me of so much joy we had spending time in Ft. Myers. We are devastated for the people who call FMB their home. Prayers and many blessings as you bring it back to life!❤️🙏🏼
So beautiful. Very sad. I pray for all of this who lost loved ones and friends, homes and belongings. My sympathy to you all! 💐
Beautifully done,,,,that’s how I will always remember it. My Happy Place
Good GOD it looks like a 3rd world country now. This was a beautiful magical place. My husband and I drove down from Palm Bay Fl for our 1 year anniversary we loved it so much we have came every year since that made a total of 23 times. We will forever be grateful to the amazing people that made us feel at home year after year. On our way soon to start helping with the efforts. God Speed Everyone
Amazing cinematography my friend, drone shots are stunning here!
thanks man... I'm sure you'll find more stuff like this for yourself on my channel... Cheers
Tom, thank you for sharing. Ft Myers will never look the same. It is sad to see people loose there homes and everything that they worked so hard for. I have been ,issuing your weekly videos. Hope all is well with you and your family. Looking forward t seeing more videos coming from you in the neat future. Cheers! 🍻 Rich
Never be the same of course it will never look the same
Thanks Jacob... Will be back soon... Maybe from now on :D Thanks for your support. BTW to you think property insurance got these private houses covered?? Or those standard policies doesn't cover this kind of natural disasters?
@@TAPPChannel I was talking to my wife about that. I think there may be fine print that absolves the insurance company from natural disasters. I sure hope that I am wrong.
I'm a former Lee county resident and that's how I remember fort Myers Beach from 2008 when I left. looking at the latest devastation just rips my heart out. my prayers are with everyone swfl 🙏
A uniquely cute and pretty city. It looks so peaceful and ideal. Pray for everyone suffering in the world.
And this is why Galveston built a 15' seawall and raised every home and building 12' in the early 1900s.
Like a piece of heaven
Rule #1, never build at sea level. Rule #2, never build on a barrier island. Rule #3, never build closer than 1000 feet to the water.
It is so hard to see childhood memories gone like this. When I was 19 I moved up North for 3 years. When I came home I knew I was home when I saw all the buildings down in Times Square from the top of the bridge. I always liked that view. Thank you for putting this up so I can remember what it looked like
Wonderful drone flight shots
Much love from England. Ive been obsessed with Fort Myers for years as im a massive Day of the Dead Fan. Stay strong.X
George Romero lived on Sanibel Isand
It was so beautiful 🥰
So glad you took this video
It all looked so beautiful and full of life before Ian wiped it all out...😢
RIP Fort Myers Beach in Florida, you will be missed.
This helps. Appreciate you. 🙏
Ty I had never been there nice to see how beautiful it was.
When you build and operate at sea level, it is only a matter of time before a large storm, with a large storm surge strikes and nature changes everything, it's how it works. Rebuild better.and smarter like we did on the east coast.
I live in Venice it’s North of Ft Myers and much smaller. We all have the old Florida charm and I’m 100 percent sure FT Myers will be built again and safer and beautiful. Those people are tough. I’ve been through 6 hurricanes and no I would never move because of it. I just get more efficient at hurricanes.
We have been going yearly for a number of years to Ft Myers beach. Hopefully when they rebuild it will be better then ever. God bless all the people of this beautiful area!
Fort Myers ❤
Viral! Congrats!
So Beautiful. Showed some glimpses of the devastation? They'll rebuild.🙏🏼
I used to go to the pier all the time when I was a young kid.
beautiful city lost!
Wow it was soo beautiful really tranquil so sad for all the people!!
My dad has a vacation home in Fort Myers. I live in Philly & my dad in NJ. Fort Myers is our happy place, our place to go to get away from the crazy city life. I'm heartbroken over the devastation of Fort Myers Beach. All of our favorite places like Blowfish bar, Junkanoos & Times Square are no more. Prayers to everyone down there. Stay Strong!
I ran away to this place from Nashville, Tennessee to get away from my heartache and grief 3 years ago. The three months I spent there arguably saved me... And I always had a pleasant thought that I could go back if ever something went awry again. Now it's gone...I can barely recognize it, and GD does that hurt. These storms are only going to get worse over time...
I LOVED THAT SPOT AND WANTED TO MOVE THERE SOMEDAY
Now is the time to buy. I am sure you can find a bargain.
@@2centsworth766 YEA NOW IS THE TIME..WHICH SITE DO YOU RECOMMEND I SEARCH AT
@@2centsworth766 you're the same guy that just wrote "Rule #1, never build at sea level. Rule #2, never build on a barrier island. Rule #3, never build closer than 1000 feet to the water."
so rule 4: if you get a bargain disregard all previous 4 rules?
I will be returning
The lure of living near water of any kind seems to be a characteristic unique to the human species and tragically blinds us to the possible dangers in doing so. I too live close to the Atlantic and have seen firsthand the utter destruction she can unleash at any time. With final material costs and loss of human lives from Ian in Florida, Puerta Rico and the Carolinas yet to be determined, what will be our next step? Rescue, recover and rebuild as usual? Isn't that the definition of insanity, to continue to do the same thing over and over and over again, hoping for a different result??!! We can continue to live near water but, we cannot continue to build as we have done in the past!
it was such a Beautiful place to live n visit I used to go every year for 2 weeks just to lay on beach n do all the vacation stuff was just their in july I was their the first to weeks in july stayed with a friend of mine who has a house in FT Myers Beach like maybe two blocks from beach n I would come every year for those two weeks and we would have such a great time eating out n swimming doing all the vacation stuff I took a bunch of pics n when she showed me pics of it after Ian I was Devastated the whole first floor of her Beautiful Beach House is Destroyed just has to b gutted n redone it will take awhile n the mold is so bad she told me it grew over night and the smell is horrible it is going to take so long b4 it is fixed up my thoughts n prayers r with all the people that were affected by this Hurricane God Bless
I can't believe it's horrible.
It look so nice.
My heart go out to the people in Florida
Thankyou for your time today .
But I know you we over come.
With all my best wishes.🫂👣
To the ones who pass go with the lord 🙏
I used to live in Ft. Myers 20 or so years ago and played bass in a cover band or 2 at that beach
Back then I thought the place was a total dump for a beach resort area. Looks like they worked it ove pretty nice from this video
Was the lani kai in this? I didn't recognize if so..
lani kai south of bridge, still standing, college kids can come tomorrow.

Come to do what? Get cut by mystery objects in the water, get hurt in the rubble?
They are letting people in andout already for pleasure?
So sad that beautiful city took such a hit! Also all the folks that lost their homes and businesses.
Hard to imagine a place more ripe to get annihilated by a hurricane.
CLIMATE CHANGE 😭😭😭😭😭
90% of this area was damaged. Let that sink in😢! That is devastating and heartbreaking. Paradise destroyed by Mother Natures force. So many people displaced. It breaks my heart😢
Biden is about to force the whole Planet look like this, but not by Mother Natures force!
It looks like Cozumel
May god put his almighty hand on the families who have lost love ones.
My sister and brother in law have lived there for a few years now it’s all gone
When the Earth fights back
R.I.P.
The hurricane is so sad because I Just went to fort Myers’s and everything is so familiar because we go every year. Now we just see the destruction and we have no idea how our condo is doing in sanibel after Ian.
Never Forget - The opposition to the NJ Hurricane Sandy aid came from 67 Republicans, including FLORIDA’s Ron DeSantis and Ted Yoho of Gainesville. Both DeSantis, a lawyer, and Yoho, a veterinarian, had strong support in their elections from tea party groups. Compassion and Empathy for your fellow countrymen should be a patriot’s priority. Because someday the shoe may be on the other foot. Thoughts and prayers go out to Florida.
What else was in the Sandy bill besides 'Sandy relief'?
@@MoMoMyPup10 I look forward to the response
@@MoMoMyPup10 You keep believing this party BS; just like DeSantis is now throwing others under the bus for not giving accurate timelines on evacuating Fort Myers. It does no one else more harm but the locals. And don’t pout if a Democrat says there’s issues in the relief fund headed to FL. Your man moved so many goalposts during his career that they are now drifting out to the gulf.
@@wesheckler9805 Keep that same energy IF the other party contends, Ian “ relief “ .
@@Scout555 I will if there’s things that’s snuck in to the bill
take a picture.
it'll last longer...
I don’t know about Florida anymore. I lived down there in 1992 got slammed by hurricane Andrew in 92 then thinking about moving back soon but now this hurricane. I don’t know anymore. Florida seems to get hit by too many hurricanes. Didn’t Irma go through Florida as well and Elsa wasn’t there a Michael as well? I mean come on. It’s just too much. Very sad
It's all part of the end times
I was there yesterday. It looks horrible. Now it’s mostly empty places with demolished houses and sky high piles of sand mixed with brick blocks, furniture, appliances, bikes and debris by the road. Curfew, very quiet. I am Ukrainian and it looks like it’s after the bombing. Very sad 😢 even if those buildings that survived will be fixed, the tourists won’t like to stay there for a while, until shops and restaurants come back. To me it feels like It will take years
This video could've been better. Like a before and after. The city is pretty much all destroyed. A before and after would show everyone how bad this hurricane really was and how hard it's going to be to rebuild.
Places like this are beautiful to visit but I'd never live that close to the ocean . Too much of a gamble
Building on a Barrier Island is not a good Idea. But it appears that people are willing to take that risk. My problem is that If your going to do this, get the insurance. It's going to be expensive but you know this going in. If you want to play, you've got to pay.
castles made of sand are wiped into the sea, eventually! jimi hendrix
Ride the bicycle,whenever you can
lol what are you implying, enjoy while you can?
Those little honky tonk shops and restaurants can be replaced in time for next summer.
Squatters gonna Squat.
Most people crying heartbreak and total loss would cry victim if someone lived in their home, rent free and without permission.
Go home and turtle island isn't your home 🙂😷✌️🕵🏾♀️😌👩🏿⚖️
Lmao you think you’re entitled to the earth? Did you build it or something?
Worst case scenario-it gets rebuilt and creates jobs, oh no!!!
This place was already humming with new construction -- they are/were building everywhere as fast as they can get crews to start. The last thing they needed was more construction projects.
