What a marvelous, ridiculous, magnificent idea! After 45 years of riding, from Honda 50 mini bike and trail 70 in the dirt to a Honda ST1300 I sold a few years ago because I just wasn't riding enough anymore. The Honda Trail 125 would be like going back to the beginning, would be a cheap, economical, fun way to get some more two wheel miles in before I retire to a rocking chair for good. Don't know if I'll make across the country, but plenty of two lane and dirt roads and trails here in the California foothills. Thanks for the inspiration.

Oh yeah, I forgot to say, I LOVE your choice of music! I have some tracks to donate for your use if you're interested.
My hat goes off to you. Back in the late 60s, a riding buddy had one of these CT125s, I had a CT70. We did 200 mile rides and felt we accomplished plenty. Since then I only did cross country rides on my BMW 1150RT and GS.
These episodes are probably way too long for most folks, but this is the kind of thing I wanted to see when I was thinking about doing this trip... Enjoy!
This is awesome! The CT125 is a marvelous little thing. Loved recognizing some places from other videos about the TAT I've watched before. 16:40, for instance, I recognize from Ed March's 1st video on the TAT over at C90Adventures. I gotta get up to the states and do this someday!

Hello, this is an excellent journey, seeing the USA at 30 mph. I followed Ride On Amigos Channel as they rode the TAT which really sparked my interest, so I’m thing of taking a RE Himalayan from Florida to Maine then across to the west coast.
Hey there! I actually have a question for you if you don't mind. I have been thinking about getting a Honda ct125 but now the Himalayan has grabbed my attention. I know they are very different bikes but I can't figure out which one ill be happier with. Any tips?
I have never heard of the TAT but I had a little Honda like that growing up and I so enjoyed it. I have an old oversized sport touring bike now that is so heavy its not fun. Glad I ran across your channel.
Great to see the start. So did you notice if you forgot anything yet?? Just curious. If all goes as planned I'll be doing the TAT for my 50th birthday. Looking forward to the next video.
I don't think I'd want to do this on a Trail 125, but I am wanting to get a Rebel 300. Everyone says to get the 500. I thought about it for quite some time. I think I can do everything I want on the 300, including short stretches of interstate. I read a few years ago about a guy who took a Sym 50 cc scooter from somewhere in California to Alaska. I'll watch the entire trip.
I’m gonna have to come back and watch this series of yours later. My confidence on two wheels and in the rest of my life has been shaken. Really wish I got a 125 and not this big Tenere 700. Watching this makes me wanna call the dog sitter and try a day trip w/ a buddy on paved roads. I really wanna work up to doing something like what you’re doing!
The t7 is an awesome machine, but yeah, for me the little Honda was a good choice. I seem to always get in a bit of trouble with heavy bikes. Although the Himalayan is about the same weight as the T7 and other than a few sections I probably would have been ok on that.
@@SomeGuyRides I don’t wanna sound like I’m knocking this T7, Yamaha did an excellent job making this bike really forgiving to a very casual rider, imho. There were some trail sections following a buddy where the ground got all loose and I was doing everything wrong, fought the bike and thought for sure I was gonna get flung off. Bike stayed up right to my amazement! I may very well get a 125 just for the pure joy of something small and easy to handle. Stay safe out there bud!
Hey bud. The T7 is a tall first choice but it's nice and light. I had one as a first real bike and you very quickly get used to it. I'm now on an Africa Twin Adventure Sports. It's too tall. It's too heavy. I love it!!
Good on ya riding through those water crossings! But I might have been tempted to walk the bike across... don't know how much that would have helped if the water was over your boots though.🙂
Great scenery, great audio and totally absorbing. Can you tell us some more about your nav setup, daily servicing and what preparation you have made for the first puncture! Would also be interested to know how much weight you lose on the trip!
Nav - gaia on various old phones. Daily - checked chain tension and lubed. checked oil now and then. checked tires now and then. carrying tire spoons, tubes, and a tiny air compressor... Most fun weight loss program ever invented!
Your future self just popped in 😀 Classic! You are very good at this!! Engaged. Excellent. Who cares about direction though dude. Motorcycle freedom is whichever way 😀 I have to tell myself the same. Enjoy and relax (but concentrate of course)
Nice to see someone else who also uses a cat-food can style alcohol stove and a single pot. I was a backpacker before a biker and save a lot of space using backpacking packing skills.
Enjoyed the epic RR over on ADVrider - that and your previous videos. This one was worth the wait. Well done! Also a Himma rider, but I'm strangely glad you chose the CT125 for the added difficulty for your Olympic Gold Medal routine ;)
11:06 is when the magic starts! 😂🤣😂🤣 I'm reminded of a road trip I took with a buddy from upstate SC to Hamilton, Ontario, Canada when we were 18. We ran out of gas on the highway just outside Charlotte.
New fan here. Thanks for sharing your adventures with excellent video production - your time and effort are appreciated! Can you share thoughts on your navigation setup - phones, mounts, apps, etc., operation when out of cell coverage area (if an issue).
I'm already looking forward to your next video upload! I'll be on the SM500 in October and already sweating that same Witt Road creek crossing with those hellish grooves! Someone that lives near there that crosses it often needs to post a "How to" video on the best lines to take when crossing it!

Your 500th like came from Scotland. Well deserved. Fun to watch. Ill follow along from now on. All the best.
Want to do the TET someday!
Amazing. Can u review ur riding gear and things u brought too. Keep it up!
Finally I'm on the road (with you). Been looking forward to this for a while. Nice work on the video and the narration.
That sounds marvelous! I'm a nomad at heart. I really want to visit Asheville.
Asheville is a very weird and special place. You'll enjoy it!
What a start. Looking forward to this series. God Speed!
Dude, your album cover is the best. You can just feeeeel the 😒 on your co-stars facial expression. Very excellent 👏 😄
Your future self just popped in 😀 Classic! You are very good at this!! Engaged. Excellent. Who cares about direction though dude. Motorcycle freedom is whichever way 😀 I have to tell myself the same. Enjoy and relax (but concentrate of course)
2:21 “there ain’t nothin better than a bad idea” I’m going to like this!!! Just starting the series, late to the party😂😂
Nice to see someone else who also uses a cat-food can style alcohol stove and a single pot. I was a backpacker before a biker and save a lot of space using backpacking packing skills.
I love that thing. I’m a big fan of Shugs hiking channel- check that out if u haven’t. He’s great. Got it because of him.
Stoked about seeing this in video now!
Ha ha! What a great idea! I have a beer holder that says...."That's a horrible idea! What time?" Love love love your videos.
Enjoyed the epic RR over on ADVrider - that and your previous videos. This one was worth the wait. Well done! Also a Himma rider, but I'm strangely glad you chose the CT125 for the added difficulty for your Olympic Gold Medal routine ;)
1st time viewer,... was hooked after the intro speech lol Looks great fun. Love from Scotland 👌👍💚
Really enjoyed tour TAT adventure, Thank you !
Thanks for sticking with it!
Love that you ride to reliance
I hit subscribe as soon as you started talkin! I’m picking up the last new Green Trail 125 for sale in Oklahoma on Tuesday.
Those are cool!
11:06 is when the magic starts! 😂🤣😂🤣 I'm reminded of a road trip I took with a buddy from upstate SC to Hamilton, Ontario, Canada when we were 18. We ran out of gas on the highway just outside Charlotte.
Honda totally should have sponsored you. To think that little bike could make it all the way across the country, off-road! Amazing!
You hear that Honda!? I wish!!!!
THE SPIRIT OF ADVENTURE IS NOT DEAD
New fan here. Thanks for sharing your adventures with excellent video production - your time and effort are appreciated! Can you share thoughts on your navigation setup - phones, mounts, apps, etc., operation when out of cell coverage area (if an issue).
I'm already looking forward to your next video upload! I'll be on the SM500 in October and already sweating that same Witt Road creek crossing with those hellish grooves! Someone that lives near there that crosses it often needs to post a "How to" video on the best lines to take when crossing it!
