Thank you! Yeah, he's a big couch potato. I'm hoping to have him out on one of my shorter hikes this year to see how he does with camping.
MSR Whisperlite will get you through virtually any below zero temperatures with no problem. Little extra weight and it's noisy as an F16 and you won't be simmering with it very well, but it's bombproof and will work reliably in winter conditions.
I've had my eye on that one. Certainly on the pricier side. I'll have to wait for a good coupon.
I think I bought mine 30 years ago for $60. I just took it apart and cleaned it a while back and still works like a charm.@@jason_in_the_woods
