@@Crabslammer EWU use to be an urban exploration channel going through abandoned places, it switched into a genre more able to collect views. not throwing shade, i love EWU.
Neck injuries from diving is definitely a real thing, but more common in natural bodies of water rather than pools because of tides and unfamiliarity with the body of water.
I can swim but im dogshit at treading water and floating 😂

@@OfficialNicethat’s true, you take a big deep breath and slowly release, makes treading effortless. That being said, people with dense muscles are significantly less buoyant.

I have literally never been near a body of water deep and clean enough to swim in.
You've never been drunk around a bunch of bikini clad women... Stay on land with your obese chunky ham-planets.
That guy with no limbs came to my High School to give a speech and a Bunch of people cried, Hundreds lined up to hug him afterwards.
I know I'm not the only Australian in my thirties with this Memory. In primary school we all learned about drugs from a plush giraffe.
4:45 as kids my entire family as they aged were thrown into a pool at 3-4 and told to figure it out. There would always be an adult in the pool to make sure nothing bad happened but we all learned to swim that way. It started with a doggy paddle and we've all developed that skill to be decent swimmers. I'm with Taylor, if you don't know how to swim just get in there and move in the water you'll figure it out

I always joke with my older brother (40) about this. Growing up i was the fastest swimmer in school, only thing i ever got medals for lol he doesn't know how to swim at all and just sinks as he doesn't keep any air in his lungs whatsoever. You can practically float if you can hold that breath though i doubt anyone here needs to know that. I gotta show him this dude, it's actually pretty wholesome as i can imagine he feels a lot less restricted, even for a single limb amputee or recovering from injuries i'd encourage swimming for fun and exercise. Really gets the cardio fixed up.

I have no idea how I learned to swim. my only memory is my father putting me on his shoulder and tossing me in deep water lol
My girlfriends dad used to be a firefighter and responded to a call of a kid who jumped in to the shallow end and broke his ankles and ended up drowning. The owners ended up filling in the pool afterwards
Taylor, you ever been to The Offsets? Quarry where a few people have drowned. It's like 200 ft deep but 100 feet worth of empties.

I've been always been able to swim, its one of the few sports I'm good at. Took only the first level of swimming lessons but I could already do it. Im highschool the only person faster than me was a life guard.

Fun fact only some humans are naturally buoyant. It depends on muscle/fat/bone density, if you are low body fat with dense bones you sink. Personally if I enter water I can walk across the bottom

Knowing to swim is not a guarantee you won't drown, There's a nearby river that people fall into every year and drown, it's not just the current that gets you it's getting pulled under and getting stuck that does it. I took lessons on swimming as a kid and I still wouldn't risk swimming now, especially in the ocean my worst fear is drifting into a school of jelly fish, never mind the sharks it's the jellyfish that terrify me.
