I come back to this video some times, and every time i'm amazed, i was just yelling behind my screen! Everything it's amazing, plus a Masterclass on how to use a synth!
Can we just talk for a sec about Mark’s blep into a soft wink at Jason @ 1:06? Cause that’s by far the best musician interaction I’ve seen on camera lol. Can even see Jason smiling about it in the next shot
Mark is using the new Gretsch Classic drums with I think Evan heads. I would guess g2. The cymbals I'm pretty sure I saw the v of Sabian Vault on the ride and crash. Amazing sounding ride! Perfect for what he does. Love the natural approach of these guys. Love Now vs Now!
Actually it's the sound of the past...this is basically early to mid 70s jazz fusion, and the 70s fusion was the sound of the future, but not many caught up to it til more recently, so the 70s fusion and it's continuing influence is both the past, present and future all at the same time, and probably will stay that way for a long time
@WeSoundGoodMan ---not a stupid question, because you do really need to count, but, yeah, it's all in 7, and the really poetic part of it is: there are "7 ways", rhythmically speaking that they are playing in 7. 7 ways they are choosing to divide up the rhythmic structure of 7, if that makes any sense. It's mathematical without being dry. Love it.
Keyboards reminded me of Herbie Hancock, drums of Billy Cobham and the bass of Area. Naturally all melted into an amazing new sound. High Level! Enjoy that!
7: 55.Panagiotis is like : " Yo mark ... Whats goin onnnnn I'm don't know what its about but keep doing that shit " I love seeing the three of them moving like they were going to .. I dont know man ! at the end
Great images, sound, mix, vibe, everything!!!!Thanks!!! By the way could u tell me the mics u are using in the over head (drums) and the interface u are using to record???If that's possible of course... Cheers, Rick
@JimmyKadesch There are two keyboards, a Wurlitzer 200 electric piano with a Moog Minimoog Voyager on top. I'm assuming you're referring to the top of the Voyager, with its control area angled up?
Synspeckter transcribe it man, its going to be far more intersting to do it and I can assure you are going to have a lot of fun doing it, also it will be helpful for you to do that.
12 years later and the Konnakol bass solo is still killer, I love music that's a fusion of such different styles.
Ding ding
That bass solo freakin' killed me...
Two bald men trap Mark Guiliana. Mark Guiliana has to play the coolest drum solo of life to escape.
Haha
he makeit
OMG xD
You sir, even after four years, have once again won the Internet.
To this day I recall this for an explanation of this band.
