      No problem. This is the one thing I've searched for that was not shown. Just a bunch of videos of people showing the install and not using it. Well I tried to abuse it so everyone can see its capabilities and function. Thank you for your comment.

    Better make sure have sturdy iron on box when mounting the hoist seen them push up thru the beds and make sure you have heavy duty springs and overload springs on the truck and the front end might need a 2/4inch lift kit make sure when mounting scissors lift mount in the right place so it doesn't overwork itself my trucks were big ones these are tonka toys compared to my k w Peterbilt are single axle trucks they are good for people just take time and think about safety when mounting the hoist and before hauling material check air pressure in the tires loaded many trucks when put material on tires go down halfway at are plant had a compressor to air them up so if get one enjoy and stay safe 6:16

    I have one on my 12 f250. Not the fault of Pierce, but I literally folded my bed in half with 3500 lb of engineered fill. I think the newer the truck the thinner the bed frame....I'm going to make an aluminum dump bed...

    I love my Pierce Arrow dump bed. It works better than I could have ever hoped for.
    I built two wedges that fill the areas just infront of the wheel wells that product can be hung up on. They install by two clamps that hold onto the under side of the bed. When I don't need them I pul them out. Makes dumping so much easier.
    The thing I love the most about the dump bed conversion is your truck still looks like a standard pickup truck. But it gives you so much more versatility.

    That kit looks very strong , I got a question did you done any welding on that build.

    • @tthack84
      @tthack84  2 года назад +3

      I don't think I welded anything. Reciprocating saw, drill, and hand tools was pretty much it.

    Build a tailgate out of lumber and add a removable bottom 2x6 and it should spread a road nicely.

    So yea, I thought the editing was fine. I like the music over the top at the end. That's the stuff I'd like to do with mine. Not just music but it would make life SOOOO much easier if I could do voice overs when I'm done making the video lol.

    Have you had any problems with this kit long term, do you have any regrets when buying it?
    I'm looking at getting one possibly for a potential upgrade

    • @tthack84
      @tthack84  3 года назад +2

      If I had to buy it over again I would definitely do so. I might not buy the remote wireless for the $200 extra but the power up and power down option is a must for me personally. I am waiting until I build my new tailgate to record another video with all the issues and improvements I have. Should have one out this spring or summer explaining everything.

      @TopNotchPropertyServiceLLC Indiana. I'd say any brand of the older trucks would haul like this with minor modifications as in springs, overloads, and air bags. Some of these newer frames are not the simple heavy duty kinds like they use to be.

    You'd be better off just ordering a load of 15+ tons at one time. $150 delivery fee + material cost. Save time and fuel.

    I've had a f350 shorty dually dump ..when u dump without the dual wheels do you find it's not so stable when you dump a load of stone?

    • @tthack84
      @tthack84  3 года назад +2

      I wouldn't say the the srw vs drw would make a difference necessarily. But I would lean more towards the actual bed shifting too far to the side and failing before the truck would tilt too far with a single wheel axle. When this bed is lifted up, you can actually push it side to side about half a foot both ways on the cab side of the bed. That's one of my recommendations is to beef up the bed while it's off the truck. But back to your question I think load class E tires is a must for srw and does fine for me.

      I done it solo with my tractor to lift the bed off and on. I would say a weekend would be sufficient. The most time consuming part was the instructions that was inaccurate and the back hinges needed the angle iron cut off in order to fit at all. I will make another video when I get a warm day about all the issues and things to avoid.
