    Oh & TYSM for showing us the prices of food and events there. That way when ppl come to visit they can get an idea of how much $$ is needed to save up prior to visiting, in order to enjoy certain things that they want to do.

    • @edenswilliams

      I definitely could have done things more budget friendly but it was my friends birthday, we went the week after mardi gras (so prices for lodging/flights were higher), and we were only there a weekend so we splurged on some meals.

    Good for you and your 2 friends to be able to enjoy that 4-day trip. I loved that roof top scene from 13:30-14:13 the most. I can afford to travel out of town on my own, but I can never get any friends to join me even if I offer to pay. I visited New Orleans back in 2021 for 2 days and met up with 5 relatives there.

    • @edenswilliams

      That’s why I started traveling solo! Which sucks but you learn to adjust and be happy to be able to do your own thing! Or look out for group travel trips hosted by people. Usually the only way i get to travel with friends if its for THEIR birthday like this trip.

    I was in NOLA about the same time, and did many of the same things! I love New Orleans so much, and go as often as I can. Thanks for showing all the wonderful stuff outside of the Quarter. You are a class act. Yes---you should stay in the Garden District next time. I really prefer it to the French Quarter---and felt much safer. If you don't feel comfortable at night, it's fun to explore the Quarter during the day too. Royal is fun for the shops and street music. We walked from the St. Charles streetcar down to Magazine St. just about every night. Great Air B&B's there too (ours was right on Magazine). You would love it!

    • @edenswilliams
      @edenswilliams  Год назад +2

      Thanks so much! I would definitely go back and do that. I feel like you have to book the airbnbs sooo early in advance since barely any were available when i booked one month in advance. When did you book yours?

    • @keeva7313
      @keeva7313 Год назад +1

      @@edenswilliams We booked about 3 months in advance. And I think we were lucky, it being right after Mardi Gras. I get a bit obsessed with Air B&B. I am always scrolling through, narrowing down by neighborhood, number of beds needed, etc. Even if I'm not planning a trip real soon, I'll bookmark the places I think are possibilities. You can check their reservation calendars to see if they are free around the time you want to go. Some have months blocked off---so I just keep looking!

    For first time visitors you can't possibly see New Orleans in one trip (or even 10). Pick the things you most want to see, and do that. Also, get out of the Quarter while you are there...As far as not feeling safe, you just need to be aware and know where not to go (like most any city). Around Mardi Gras is probably one of the worst times to visit. There is literally awesome food on every corner and you don't need to spend $160 on brunch if you choose not to. That's a choice, not a requirement.
    Am glad you had good luck w/you stay, typically I would avoid all Sonder properties, regardless.

      @@edenswilliams I would also encourage you to allow some time to wander. You can often find all kinds of hidden gems well off the beaten tourist track, just be safe. In Nola you can also explore via the buses, street cars or Ferry as well. e
      And....don't go to sleep on their museums...WW II, Ogden, Jazz and others are top notch.

      The french quarter was definitely the busiest/most rowdy area (especially anywhere near bourbon street) so i would just be careful and observant walking around there! Alot of men cat calling, homelessness, like in any city but i had men try following me! And i was with 2 friends. i felt much safer in the garden district or outside of the french quarter
